Discussion about the 2020-21 Premier League season.

The Sky news story was old news without any relevant updates, so I deleted it.

This news story suggests two dates, Saturday August 29 and Saturday September 12.

I'd go for the September one myself.
However it's only 2 weeks anyway.

The safer option would probably be the September date.

Not strictly related to the thread but it'll have a big impact on the PL (and other leagues); FA Cup replays are scrapped this season. Unsure if it's just for this one, or for good.

I believe the FA/PL also recently voted against 5 substitutes becoming the norm for the season. There are some changes to VAR but I don't really understand them enough yet :skull:

The winter break is also scrapped.

It ends not long before my Birthday.

Hopefully a Birmingham promotion to this League is in order.:fc::dance::joker:

I’m sure the season will be halted as before if need be, it has seemed to work well behind closed doors though obviously the gate revenue will be needed going forward

one week later than ours then, our eredivisie will start 5th of September

ours is mostly rounding up some friendly matches, which is being highlighted by foxsports as the Comeback

Chelsea seems to have gotten some good players according to PL Fantasy.

Fixtures are revealed today, so we can all get the ball rolling on the prediction game and properly strategise our fantasy football teams :spin2:

I know there's no such thing as an "easy" game in the PL, especially for the first few weeks when everyone's still adjusting, but a nice little start of WBA (Home), Newcastle (Away) and Aston Villa (Home) would be lovely.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been arrested following an incident on the island of Mykonos on Thursday.

The England defender, 27, is on holiday in Greece.

The Syros prosecutor's office said on Friday that "three foreigners" had been arrested after an alleged altercation with police officers in Mykonos.

Maguire's lawyer Konstantinos Darivas said he denies the allegations and is "fully convinced he will be released without any charges" on Saturday.

Maguire joined United from Leicester for £80m - a world record fee for a defender - in August 2019.

"The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night," United said in a statement on Friday.

"Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment."

Greek police said in a statement officers had tried to break up an altercation between two groups outside a bar and that the three foreigners had then verbally abused and assaulted one of the officers.

The statement claimed that after arriving at Mykonos police station, the three arrested individuals then "strongly resisted, pushing and hitting three police officers" and that "one of the detainees tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed".

The police say a file has been opened which includes accusations of "violence against officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an official".

It is not known specifically what Maguire has been accused of.

The England defender, 27, was one of three people arrested on Thursday after an altercation with police.

Maguire's brother Joe, 28 and Christopher Sharman, 29, also appeared in court on Tuesday.

Joe Maguire has been found guilty of repeated bodily harm, violence against public employees and attempted bribery.

Sharman has been found guilty of insult, repeated bodily harm and violence against public employees.

He has been given a suspended 21 month sentence

What about the two men who injected a substance into the sister, is that swept under the carpet?

Has there been any evidence for them doing it? Makes absolutely no sense to try and inject someone in a public bar when they could have just slipped something into her drink.

There was no evidence of her sister being stabbed or injected at all
