Prince Harry & MEGHAN come for Twitter/Facebook/Insta - culture of HATE

Prince Harry says social media is stoking a 'crisis of hate' as he reveals he an
d Meghan have been calling business leaders for the last month to ask them to
stop funding the sites in column for US business magazine

  • In an opinion piece for U.S. business magazine Fast Company, Prince Harry said that social media, in its current state, is 'unwell' and in desperate need of fixing
  • The former senior royal said he and his wife, Meghan, have spent the past few weeks working with business leaders to enact positive change
  • The Duke of Sussex called for online communities to be 'defined more by compassion than hate; by truth instead of misinformation'
  • Harry said he and Meghan started their social media reform campaign at the same time as the launch of the Stop Hate for Profit movement in June

The 35-year-old continues that while most people enjoy the likes of
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, because its presented as a free way to
access entertainment and information, Harry insists, 'it's not actually free; the cost is high'.

In what he called the beginning of a global movement, Harry said that, above all else, he hopes that social media can become a Utopian community built
on 'empathy, tolerance and kindness'.

'The internet has enabled us to be joined together. We are now plugged into
a vast nervous system that, yes, reflects our good, but too often also
magnifies and fuels our bad,' Harry wrote.

'We can—and must—encourage these platforms to redesign themselves in a
more responsible and compassionate way. The world will feel it, and we will
all benefit from it.'

Smithy 07-08-2020 02:55 PM

Social media in general is a cesspit of toxicity

Cherie 07-08-2020 03:19 PM

of course, it was social media that drove them out of Britain, toxic environment at best

Black Dagger 07-08-2020 03:23 PM

Social media is a toxic wasteland so yes. Where is the lie sis.

Jake. 07-08-2020 03:24 PM

As if business leaders are going to listen to 2 unemployed attention seekers preaching to them...the self - importance is laughable.

Fast Company did this for an uptick in PR and sales. Meanwhile social media platforms will ignore as their aim is to make money and not act as a nanny for individual people or listen to to minor celebs who are desperately trying to find relevance when actually they are middle aged and somewhat past it

They put on a face mask and handed out a couple of meals during lockdown.

I’m all for making the world a better place but it’s easy to point out the obvious when your living in a mansion having the best of everything.

We need to cut down on global warning but us taking this private jet for a spin won’t matter.

Desperados.

Oliver_W 07-08-2020 07:37 PM

Social media is pretty gross, and nothing of value would be lost if it all got deleted.

I have no doubt they did face toxicity on there.

Livia 08-08-2020 12:12 PM

Since they moved themselves out of the spotlight they've taken step after step to keep their names in the media. Bored with an actress and an ex-royal who say they want privacy but court publicity. Maybe they've only just realised how toxic it is, because they've both used social media for years and year.

Marsh. 08-08-2020 04:16 PM

Yes, working with charities and for causes they believe in is exactly the same as the UK media intruding in their personal space.

Great comparison.

Beso 08-08-2020 04:26 PM

Tighten your purse lizzie, before all these grey american lawyers get thier hands on it...andrew ain't worth it, and neither is SHEEEEE.

Yes, they are like 'you call us out on our many hypocrisies and s***** behaviour, stop it! we only want good things said about us'!!! Boo hooooooo!

Marsh. 08-08-2020 07:11 PM

Meanwhile "Stop living your lives how you want to!!! We want you to stay in the Royal family, spending our taxes and let us abuse you for that! We have no reason to do so otherwise!!"

Honestly, the Royal family should just step aside and let Queen Meg ascend to her rightful throne :clap1: We are not worthy :clap1:

Prince Harry Should Look at Himself Before Taking
Moral High Ground

https://www.ccn.com/prince-harry-med...l-high-ground/

Quote:

Before questioning others, Prince Harry should look at himself and Meghan Markle's social media following. Get your own house in order, Harry!

Prince Harry has penned a 1,400-word tirade against the current media landscape, lamenting the lack of fairness and truth.
The problem is, Meghan and Harry are only interested in their version of the truth.
Before they ask questions of others, perhaps they ought to take a look at themselves?

In the latest laughable attempt by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to push themselves as self-styled social justice warriors, “simply” Harry penned a 1,400-word article blasting the current digital landscape.
You have to hand it to this couple–they’re on a different level when it comes to playing the victims and portraying themselves as martyrs.
I would take Prince Harry a little more seriously if his wife, Meghan Markle, and her ruthless bully friends hadn’t been guilty of manipulating the media for years. Or if both of them weren’t taking part in Zoom calls with a confessed internet bully and troll......

.......Prince Harry commented in his tirade:
Our hope is that it’s the beginning of a movement where we, as people, place community and connection, tolerance and empathy, and joy and kindness above all. The internet has enabled us to be joined together.

How can he say these things while not only sitting idly by and allowing his and Meghan’s fanbase to wreak havoc online but actively engage with these people via Zoom calls?
Prince Harry needs to get his own house in order before preaching to others. His fanbase is among the most hateful on the internet.
:clap1:

Ironic given they used Instagram to bully their way out because poor Megs didn’t realise she had to parade in front of the plebs at the Palaces request

Two things can be true at once - their behaviour can be unbecoming for a Royal couple, and social media and the gutter press can be toxic garbage which should be flushed away.

Harry and Megan together were never the "most popular" royals. Harry on his own was quite popular - ironically, for not towing the traditional Royal line. William and Kate were always the Royal couple of choice for both the press an public.

Liam- 09-08-2020 11:18 AM

Dressing as a nazi, getting drunk and stripping in Vegas = Aw, good ol’ Harry, being himself, he’s so likeable!

Marrying a woman he loves, protecting his family and addressing societal issues that affect millions = Waste of space, he’s a disgrace to Britain!!

Losing your mother when young doesn't give anyone (or their wife) a pass for life against just or even unjust criticism for their actions. Behave like spoiled selfish entitled brats and you'll be called out on it. That's life.
.... and Diana was mainly adored (by the press too) despite her faults, because she had a warmth and sincerity about her that Meghan just doesn't. Perhaps you missed that the whole country grieved like never before, for anyone, on Diana's death.

Yes because the "Great" British public (or at least, the royalist section of it) believed they owned her. She was THEIRS and THEY lost their favourite doll. Boo hoo.

Now... Harry and Megan are repeatedly saying "you don't own us". Big angry for public. Big, big angry. Who the **** do those entitled brats think they are? They need put in their place quick smart, or else future generations of royals might get the same silly idea about not being a commodity and THEN what will we be? Some sort of filthy Republic?

It's clear to anyone he adores his wife and will do all it takes to protect her and their son from intrusion that's unwanted or uninvited.

I commend him on that

The acidic attacks on her are really over the top at times.
Then turning on him too, just because he's standing by ' HIS CHOSEN ' wife.
