Polite white lady worries Black man is robbing his car ranting argument ensues
A woman has been accused of racial profiling after she asked a black man sitting in the passenger seat of a car and looking in its glovebox if he had stolen the vehicle. Stopping her bike on a leafy Bristol street, she walked up to the man to query the car's ownership - causing him to launch into an expletive-filled tirade. 'You think I'm robbing my own car because I'm black?', he shouts. 'Shut the ******* up and get out of here. Racist.' The woman responds that it is 'not about race' and that 'we have lots of car crime on this road'. The 60-second clip has gone viral on social media, and has been viewed more than 1.2million times. Its caption says the man was cleaning the seat when the woman approached him. watch the video here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...profiling.html https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2020/08...8198956211.jpghttps://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2020/08...8198956083.jpg |
Typical daily mail spin, she thought a black man cleaning his car was a thief, she’s a racist and I’m not surprised people get angry at people like her

She wouldn’t have don’t it to a white person, fact
|
"The woman responds that it is 'not about race' and
that 'we have lots of car crime on this road'." She made it worse going back to him Can see this tomorrow as debate on GMBHD itv. |

Yes could be. |
"She asked politely"
Oh WELL as long as she was racist politely it's ok then. |
Just a racist bitch tbh
|
|
Lol this is dumb.
People just want to call racism on a black person doing anything, which is really unfortunate. I'm still confused as to why it's fine to stereotype a white man for something though and not a black one lol... like genuinely. That is more racist than anything |
this must be last year as the leaves are still on the trees at mo?

People will clutch onto anything from about 10 years ago probably

Even if she genuinely thought he had what response did she expect? "Yes, maam. Would you like a lift?" |
The entitlement is real with this one, the fact that she believes she has the right to police strangers whenever she sees fit is pure white privilege, ‘just checking, just checking!’ She’s probably mad her favourite statue was chucked in the river

True story.
Years ago broke down in my local town center outside a jewellers with a van with a dodgy starter motor Was in and out the van giving it a tap. To get it to started after about 10 minutes the owner of the jewellers came out and said I’ve just phoned the police saying you are going to rob us. |
The smug look on her face as well
|
If you think about it it was rather brave of her, or foolish as it could have ended badly if the youth was on the rob?

The press and media fuelling race hysteria, people from both sides falling into their hands. Sounds to me like a busy body poking her nose into other people's business when it's not wanted, or really warranted.
Sitting in the passenger side of your own car isn't that rare though, i used to do it all the time on my lunch break, a lot more leg room and no steering wheel in the way. And before anyone asks, no i wasn't ever approached or questioned by anyone being that i was on private property in the middle of East Sussex countryside. |
i had a car stolen in Bristol :fist:

One of the top DM comments at the mo
Billi the Fish, Gloucester, 20 minutes ago She was very brave looking out for her neighbours and so polite - he comes across as a very unpleasant man, I hope her confidence hasn't been shaken; I would love her as a neighbour! |
I’m sure a daily mail commenter would love a racist for a neighbour
|
i wouldnt stop someone stealing my own car let alone anyone elses. That's what insurance is for

the worst thing about the one sided vid is its assumes with no evidence
where have we seen that before? |
I wanted to watch the vid but I’m not about to click on a daily mail link. Nice try.

Speaking from personal experience I don't know why people always think whenever a young male (white or black) are anywhere near a car that they're trying to rob it, thankfully in my case my Dad showed up to prove my innocence. Basically unless they're blatantly trying to break into the Vehicle I leave the person alone. |

Hypothetical situations that don't reflect the reality do not matter, they certainly don't undermine what actually happened. This man was minding his own business in his own car and this hag racially profiled the **** out of him and thought he must have been trying to steal the car, it never occurred to her that he could own it.
The fact that people are more offended by the fact that he was angry more than the racism of the woman says it all. You hold black people to different standards than white people. |

The issue here for me is the sense of entitlement, the presumption that it's ok to interrupt a strangers day to make accusations and then insist that they accept an apology. He was understandably upset but reasonably polite until she really started badgering. |
Probably best no one ever approaches anyone who is black. No stop and search, no racial profiling... and the fact that knife crime and gun crime are mainly black crimes... and black on black crimes... just let them get on with it. Otherwise you get a foul-mouthed rant and strangely, people supporting that.

If you KNOW someone is committing a crime then by all means confront them if you want to. If you think something looks suspicious enough to warrant reporting then do that. In this case I don't think it even would warrant that - all that was really warranted was taking a "mental note" of the time/car/person so that if a crime DID occur and people were asking around, you could say what you saw. There was clearly no imminent threat of a violent crime so why confront someone? |
