What would you do if you saw to policemen walking into a small enclosed shop with no

No masks on

Like a small BP garage..

Like wtf!!

Crimson Dynamo 28-08-2020 08:46 AM

why are the staff in that shop not wearing masks?

thesheriff443 28-08-2020 08:49 AM

Mind my own business and to be fair saw two police men the other day wearing masks in a car while driving.

of course they do have immunity, most shops staff are youth, not among risk groups

they just shouldn't socialize after work and go immediately home, no contacts among staff either

Isn’t he asking what you’d do if the officer isn’t wearing a mask... not the staff

I dont even know why i am in a BP garage as I filled up with Petrol on Tuesday at Tesco:shrug:

Plus our BP is quite pricey

Beso 28-08-2020 10:39 AM

I'm raging about this tbh.

One rule for them is it?

Tom4784 28-08-2020 10:53 AM

A shopper could go to multiple places in one shopping trip but a shopworker will remain in the one shop where they work. Customers have a higher risk of carrying the virus since they'll go to more places than an employee which is why customers have to wear masks. It's common sense, really.

Ideally everyone should wear masks but when it comes down to it, the staff should be okay not to if the customers follow the rules.

“Police officers will socially distance where possible and Personal Protective Equipment will be worn when necessary. It is up to each individual officer to decide whether PPE should be used in any given situation. Face coverings can be a barrier to communication and we will be careful about how and when we wear them.”

Legislation requiring people in England to wear face coverings on public transport includes an exemption for police

Dogeatdog 28-08-2020 11:17 AM

Well I would be a bit annoyed tbh because I’d be thinking “does the law not apply to them?”

bots 28-08-2020 11:32 AM

why does the op care when he was so anti mask himself?

I have always worn one....it seems to me the police are exempt from catching covid..perhaps they have super powers hidden in the uniform that makes them non members of the public.

Oh yes I’ve read thanks. Maybe you should have a read of it too? You might find out why the staff aren’t wearing masks either

I've never yet come across, in shop or store, any Police officers not wearing a facecovering in it.

Although I haven't come across many.

In a normal setting, where they were just shopping, not dealing with any incident for instance.
Then I'd express surprise to any, that they weren't adhering to the ruling that facecoverings had to be worn in shops and stores.

That talks about transport, are police also exempt from wearing masks in shops?

Cherie 28-08-2020 12:51 PM

Is that a BP on the A12 Parm, its a regular police stop, most of them don’t wear masks, they are on a break so should do the same as the rest of us and wear one

A spokesperson for London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed to Reuters that their officers followed the NPCC guidelines. The spokesperson said: “Police officers will socially distance where possible and Personal Protective Equipment will be worn when necessary. It is up to each individual officer to decide whether PPE should be used in any given situation. Face coverings can be a barrier to communication and we will be careful about how and when we wear them.”

I was going to ask this.....if they were there on Police business I think that would be ok but if they are going into a shop as a paying customer then they absolutely should be wearing them

:suspect:

what medical reasons?

and i think corona is medical reason enough for just one to go inside, and if the other wants a redbull or some cigarettes he could just ask his partner to buy some while he needs to pay for petrol anyway

lots, go read up on "exemptions" as its a long list :).

no the cop wanted to use the change in his pocket as he had a lot of £2 coins and it was ruining the line of his strides so he had to go in plus he fancies the girl at the costa coffee bit

also if you got medical problems, you are among a risk group so entering a small enclosed shop potentially with more customers inside not the best idea

so being among that risk group makes wearing a face covering then more recommendable

Niamh. 28-08-2020 01:47 PM

Same as what I would do if I saw an ordinary citizen with no mask on................nothing
