NHS app, have you downloaded it
Apparently they have resolved the issue with it not picking up certain tests :skull:
A colleague downloaded it as she was going to Nandos, and got a text next day so now she has to self isolate for 14 days... I wasn't going to bother with it if I am honest :omgno: |

In the absense of abundant testing capacity, it's just going to be a farce, half of England will be on 14 day isolation constantly and 99% of them won't have Covid. Basically, a test and trace app is completely useless without quick and easy access to tests. |
no, i won't download it, heard about it matching people with walls between them

I just dont trust any of the tracing apps. I dont even like location being turned on my phone. I just have a real issue with being watched. Never done anything wrong I just dont like the idea of the world turning into george orwells 1984 which is funnily ironic being on a forum dedicated to Big Brother

However as an example, I live in a semi-detached house and it could in theory activate because of proximity to our neighbours through the wall - despite the fact that I can't ****ing stand them and haven't been within 10+ metres of them for over 5 years, other than with a wall between us :joker:. |

She can get £500. From the government |
I just got a text from the NHS asking me to download the app. I'm not bloody doing it I can tell you. Xx

I would like to see us defeat the virus and return to some normality so yes
|
Question.
If I download this app and get told to self isolate is it a rigid 14 day isolation or just till I get tested and get the all clear. Hopefully. ? |
Nope.

What's the reason for not getting it, an ignorance is bliss view that you don't want to know you've been exposed to a covid case? Even if that means you might now be an asymptomatic spreader?
Or is it some anti-government, 'Big Brother' thing? |

I’ve not downloaded it but my flatmate has COVID and I’m self isolating so right now it has no purpose to me
|
No, you could potentially be off work for months...Go to work come in contact with someone, isolate go back and the next day get another text... Hang on... Maybe I'm being a bit hasty ;)

Strange all I've heard about recently is how the government has failed in giving us a track and trace system but apparently people don't actually want one  |

i work from home and am not out at the pub so it really isnt relevant to me, at least for the moment |

Yes.
People cannot criticise even this awful government about not putting some effective tracking and tracing in place. Then not use it once it's there. This may not be the best there could be but it's something. So in my view, for me, it should be supported. |
No, but purely because I’m living like a hermit right now because of my mum anyway

So I'm not isolating due to some random person testing positive that shopped in m&s the same day I did or similar I'll continue to wear my mask/visor and take the precautions I've always taken |
you only need to isolate if you have been in close proximity with someone within 2 days of when their symptoms started

This idea you'll continually be getting told to isolate isn't very likely, the chances of you having had prolonged contact with a positive covid case is still very low. I mean I must have given my details numerous times to different establishments since pubs and restaurants reopened and I'm yet to have a phone call :pipe2: |

People are happy to slag off the test and trace system but not willing to aid it it seems to me. |
