Nancy Pelosi threatens to remove Trump as president tomorrow using 25th Amendment

Liam- 08-10-2020 06:48 PM

Constitutional queen

Tom4784 08-10-2020 06:52 PM

It needs to happen but I'm not completely aware of the process around it, does the Senate have to approve of it, because if so, Trump could be smearing his **** on the walls and sticking covid samples into the water supply and the Senate would vote to keep him in.

Jessica. 08-10-2020 06:57 PM

Give him life in prison next please, Miss Nancy.

It seems a bit vague.

Quote:

The Congress may by law provide for the case of removal, death, resignation or inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what officer shall then be President, or, in case of inability, act as President, and such officer shall be or act as President accordingly, until a President shall be elected or, in case of inability, until the inability shall be earlier removed. The commencement and termination of any inability shall be determined by such method as Congress shall by law provide.

Nancy can't remove trump, It would require 8 members of the cabinet to first request it, and it would then go to congress for approval - it's not going to happen

Congress can choose another group of people to vote, it doesn't have to be the cabinet.

Crimson Dynamo 08-10-2020 07:03 PM

Is she ok?

She is removing him because he is mentally ill so your question is directed at the wrong person

Not true of course.

And using people who are mentally ill as your foil is incredibly disrespectful

Kate! 08-10-2020 07:37 PM

he does come across though as having mental health problems.

Ask his son

Donald Trump Jr. reportedly wanted a family 'intervention' to stop Trump's 'crazy behavior' at Walter Reed

No idea, you'll have to ask James if we have any Washington IP's

His son is insane?

What do you mean proven? You accept other stories on less evidence.

No idea, I would guess that after the tower of pisa post, she probably thought continuing the discussion was pointless.

Good to see you back, by the way.

Doesn't really have anything to do with Trump's so called mental health issues, but i whole heatedly agree with on that. Democracy is fine for some people, as long as you share the same opinions, have the same stance on everything, and only vote the way they think you should. So yeah, the complete opposite of being for and accepting Democracy.

As for Nancy Pelosi outing Trump, we all know it wont happen. Though the way things are going his White House exit is only around the corner.

It's not going to happen, but the 25th amendment is specific to the constitution of the US, which means it is absolutely part of their democracy.

I didn't question the democracy regarding the 25th amendment, just the questionable democratic beliefs of many people. It's all good and well saying you're for (not you, in general) democracy, but then throwing a fit when things don't go the way you think they should isn't how democracy works.

Speaking up (and being allowed to) when you don't feel things are working/going the right way IS democracy.

People are allowed to voice dissatisfaction with the government/elections in a free country. It's called an opinion and we're all entitled to them.

reece(: 09-10-2020 02:10 AM

Trump has lost the plot, his erratic twitter ramblings have reached new lows - get him out.

Ammi 09-10-2020 04:10 AM

...for me, I wouldn’t just feel that ‘Democracy’ was the person who was elected to serve in the voice/interest/ power of the people etc..but that they are being those things through their time of office and service...?...to democratically elect a president and then to ‘stick with them, no matter what‘ even if it’s felt that their leadership was detrimental to their country, but they’re president so that’s that of that...surely wouldn’t be democratic because ‘interest and power of the people and the country‘ must surely be a huge factor in putting the Democratic into a country election system and it is the only priority...

...I do though, completely understand Swan’s thought process..(..or as I understand what he means, anyway..)...if it’s being said that ‘the people’ elect...(...although we all know it was Putin.....)...then other officials, also serving the people can’t un-elect, otherwise it doesn’t serve democracy...?...which also has truth, I guess if other things/factors and reasons are isolated... if a leader was perceived to be ‘unfit’...then there wouldn’t be any practicality of feasibility of a ‘public voting’ to remove that leader immediately if that was felt to be something that had to happen right now, type thing...It is an interesting thing that he’s posed, though ...because to remove a leader from office, if that’s what Nancy is suggesting...?..wouldn’t that also be kind of considered a ‘coup ’.....

bots 09-10-2020 04:12 AM

i think with Biden ahead in the polls it's a very risky move if Nancy goes ahead with it

Ammi 09-10-2020 04:21 AM

...do you mean that it could be the very thing to cause him to be re-elected, bots...?..I’m too sleepy for my head to work probably atm...

Nancy has valid points to remove Trump as president, first of all he's kinda got very insane thinking getting covid is a blessing of god

secondly also he ain't recovered from the virus, so not well to remain as president (he should still be in hospital) basically him underestimating dangers of this horrible virus again, being a terrible example for overall american public, something what is dangerous for America in general

Nicky91 09-10-2020 07:15 AM

 LOL you cannot just do that Trump, no president can do such thing
