If You Could Time Travel

If you could live in any time era what would it be and why ? .

Niamh. 10-12-2020 02:49 PM

The Future because it's new, I've already lived through the 80's and the stone age wouldn't be very comfortable

I'm tempted to say future as well.
But I might say the 80s seen as I never got to experience that era . it looked cool :) .

Stu 10-12-2020 02:53 PM

It's been made to look cool because of recent movies/TV shows, the style was shocking though big hair, big jewelry, shoulder pads, bicycle shorts, leg warmers

LaLaLand 10-12-2020 02:56 PM

1960’s California/Los Angeles.

Stu 10-12-2020 02:59 PM

My serious answer's a bit more boring. I'd love to have come of age around the late 80s/early 90s. Acid house, birth of britpop etc. I'd just love to have been late teens and early 20sing my way through that landfill. I know a lot of it was rubbish, but you can say that about most eras, and that's the stuff I'm most into.

The fact that something as abrasive and ****ing mental as Setting Sun was the number 1 song in the country and they had to put it on telly everywhere. Brilliant.

I want to live in a Suede song, essentially.

The 90's was pretty cool to be a teenager in tbf I was mostly in to Grunge, not a massive dance fan but a big Brit pop fan also. Highlights music wise seeing Oasis supported by The Prodigy in pairc ui chaoimh in 1996 and Pearl Jam in Mill Street the same year, unfortunately I was only 13 when Nirvana played in Sir Henry's :bawling:

rusticgal 10-12-2020 03:12 PM

1960's....I loved the music and fashion.

Hahaha fair dues. Seeing that line up for Féile 95 kills me, like.

Maybe it's good I wasn't of age. I'd probably never have recovered. I'd have been one of those blokes you see in high viz down the park now feeding the birds, writing Keith Flint Forever on lamp posts, getting monthly calls from social protection.

I love nostalgia but pandemic aside I have no qualms about the age we're in. Ireland's metal scene started to get proper belting last year, there. Finally had something I could fall into.

Daniel-X 10-12-2020 03:30 PM

The 1990’s deffo, specifically the later 90s.

Well fingers crossed next year won't be like this and you can back into it again. As **** as this year was it weirdly flew as well, like one long month

The Slim Reaper 10-12-2020 04:06 PM

I'd go as far back as Chelsea 2:1 man City a few months ago, but I'd prefer to go into the future and see what kind of integrated AI human species exists in a few hundred years.

Nicky91 10-12-2020 04:08 PM

i voted future because i would like to see what technological improvements are to come

but i would also love to travel back in time, more so i could vote in older eurovision contests (back when it was still classy with loads of own language :flutter:)

Ramsay 10-12-2020 04:19 PM

Future could be a shout to see if Half Life 3 ever does come out

No chance. Just a quirky spin off platformer where you play as the headcrab using your feelings and a brain scanner.

1960s.
For how life seemed to be then and for the music.
Reading back to the sixties often leaves me thinking we had so many answers to issues then, yet now we're back to the questions.

Or

I'd like to go back to the 16th and 17th century.
The time of Mary Queen of Scots and the Stuarts as the Monarchy.

I would probably visit every era possible ie: all eras.

thesheriff443 10-12-2020 09:09 PM

Obviously go to the birth of Jesus if that happened and come back with proof.

Going back in time to change course history is also appealing.
