Will you get the vaccine?

When offered, will you get the vaccine?

Barry. 15-01-2021 06:35 PM

Yes

Crimson Dynamo 15-01-2021 06:35 PM

yes

Daniel. 15-01-2021 06:36 PM

Are you not worried? I'm meant to be getting it in February as I work in social work and I'm very hesitant.

If it was dangerous they wouldn’t be making it. I mean I understand why you are hesitant but tbh I need to get it for my lungs so I can’t afford to say no

Scarlett. 15-01-2021 06:38 PM

If offered, yes.

bots 15-01-2021 06:39 PM

yes

AnnieK 15-01-2021 06:41 PM

I was unsure at first but as its the route out of this, I will get it when I'm offered.

Daniel. 15-01-2021 06:44 PM

Are there any possible side effects?

Novo 15-01-2021 06:45 PM

na i have a weird thing with vaccinations, i was ill for about 6 months when i have the manengties one which has always put me off, that was the last one i had

Jake. 15-01-2021 06:45 PM

Honestly don’t think that this is going to go away until the majority of people are vaccinated so yes

Beso 15-01-2021 07:08 PM

I'd rather die.

Ramsay 15-01-2021 07:12 PM

It's the only way out of this and there were no terrible side effects in the trials or so far so yes of course. Trust doctors and scientists over Conspiracy theoriests people PLEASE

I'm more worried about long term effects.

joeysteele 15-01-2021 07:48 PM

I'm likely a long way off being offered it but as soon as I am yes.

Cherie 15-01-2021 07:49 PM

When you think of the stuff we put in our bodies via alcohol and junk food, will take my chances with this

Daniel. 15-01-2021 07:55 PM

WELL I need to make up my mind soon my work is being offered it next month and I'm still undecided

thesheriff443 15-01-2021 07:57 PM

Il take it like a man

Mystic Mock 15-01-2021 08:42 PM

Tbh I'm nervous about taking it, but I do go out quite a bit so I feel like I need to take the Vaccine.

LaLaLand 15-01-2021 08:47 PM

Absolutely.

Jack_ 15-01-2021 08:56 PM

By the time I’m offered it I probably won’t need it (because most people will have had it)

So maybe not, but that’s not because I’m worried about the vaccine (it’s safe), but more if I can avoid a needle, I will :joker:

Elliot 15-01-2021 09:00 PM

I mean realistically, there’s no way of knowing the long term effects of covid either..I’d rather take my chances with a vaccine

Vaccines tend to not have any long term effects past a few weeks anyway especially mRNA vaccines which once exposed have a really short half life. They don't stay in your body for long at all.
If you're getting the pfizer or mordena vaccine it's the mRNA vaccine you're not getting injected with the bad part of the virus like before to have your body develop immunity. Here's a couple links bleow that goes through how mRNA vaccines work.
This is an absolute revelation in the vaccine world and I can't wait to see what can come from this. I hate to bring up real life experience into it because anyone can lie on the internet but trust me I'm in my final year of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science we have studied vaccines in detail. People here have me on FB so they can go look at my page if it needs confirmation
It's completely understable to be wary because it may seem rushed also incase you are but really regular vaccines take so much longer to develop as a cost effective measure. It's cheaper to spread out the trials over 10 or so years. Covid tho is such a widespread problem that they're happy to throw the cash at it while having simultaneous trials going on plus most of the work was already done from SARS back in the early 2000s they just had to pick up from that. 60k+ or so people have taken it for the trials plus the millions that have already taken it in the general public, you are probably a normal healthy regular member of the population so you can sit back and see the effects of the rest of the population before it's your turn if you choose to take it.
When side effects of these vaccines which may come up which may be bad because no matter what you'll come across people who take a bad reaction to a foreign substance going into your body, it will be such a small case, a way small percentage than the number than actually die from covid.
No one wants to mess this up and be known as the company that ****ed up so they're all really careful with it. Sorry for the essay haha Im not a fully fledged doctor or scientist but Any more questions let me know if you want on here or PM, same goes for anyone here :)

Agreed, theres cases of people not getting their smell and taste back and even people's lungs which are really messed up from it. I know a guy who got covid back last summer and he still can't taste food it's just texture to him and he's only mid 20s. These are actual known long term effects of covid

UserSince2005 15-01-2021 09:06 PM

I’m vegan.

Haah I originally said vegan friendly but forgot pfizer and moderna actually didn't skip animal trials even though that's the word on the street

When presidents and monarchs are getting it you can be fairly sure it's safe. Also my wife's already had it so yeah I'll take it when it's offered :joker:.

Honestly people will think this sounds minor but it's ****ing miserable. I have a sinus issue that means I lose my sense of taste every time I get a cold - it's actually one of the first symptoms (I eat something and it tastes like cardboard, and I know that I'll wake up the next day feeling crap)...

... it's awful. Eating at all becomes just a chore, my wife has to encourage me to have my dinner at all because I just can't be arsed sitting feeling like I'm chewing on air for half an hour. I get really frustrated after 2 or 3 days of it and the longest it ever lasts is about 5 days... I honestly can't imagine it for months on end.

Yeah my friend was really depressed about it for a while there afraid it'll never come back but he's sorta almost okay with it now? He says less takeaways  but I can't imagine not being able to taste for that long. Half a year now at this stage. Crazy

Withano 15-01-2021 10:20 PM

Got mine booked fot January 25th

GoldHeart 15-01-2021 10:40 PM

Yeah I will, and I don't understand what the ANTI vaccinators want as a solution .

They tend to want to just live with it with no lockdowns, pretty much sacrifice the old and people with underlying health conditions cus they want to go on the piss. 2 million+ deaths a year to this is nothing to them

And yet if everyone had that same attitude , I'm pretty sure the ANTI vaccinators would still be angry and moan about the situation .

I understand people being worried, but doctors and medical professionals themselves have took the vaccine with no serious side effects , so I wish people would stop being so sceptical .

smudgie 15-01-2021 11:14 PM

Ready and waiting.

Exactly, was friends with a guy who is into every Conspiracy theory you could think of. Not friends with him anymore because he just insults everyone over it and I called him out on FB over him constantly posting about hydroxychloroquine. Anyway back in December 2019 when covid was first found he was posting how it's airborne and he was wearing a mask around town and he was shocked we weren't taking it serious.
Once lockdowns and that happened he suddenly was posting saying it was fake and how it's just the flu and blah blah. Just shows that they just want to look like they're smarter than everyone else and everyone is the sheep and are asleep except them.
Puts a bad name in actual Conspiracy theoriests who dive deep into JFK, aliens etc like harmless ****. Bring back flat earthers!!
Sorry for going off topic

Yeah I heard some people on live stream bashing the vaccine and saying they won't take it yet in the same breath say they are frustrated being in lockdown again .

I can't even be bothered to argue with people like that ,if they want to sulk and not take the vaccine then that's their problem . But what I worry is the outcome of that decision but I guess time will tell .

I ignore the conspiracy theories, if you go too far down the rabbit hole it can be hard to get out if you fill your head with all that.

Aye for sure. I go on the Conspiracy subreddit to just have an idea of what those people think cus I do find it interesting and oh man the stuff they come out with and believe and upvote with no source at all. That woman that first got the vaccine in the UK. Someone had a post how she had a heart problem after taking the vaccine. Hundreds of upvotes and I commented asking if they believe everything they read online without a source just to suit their agenda and I got downvoted big time.
No surprise it was bull**** she's doing fine. it's scary how easily people fall into it to try and explain the unexplainable cus it's so much easier to think someone released the virus to lock everywhere down instead of it just being a random thing that happened because randomness is scary! Loads of virologists have warned since SARs like we got lucky with bird and swine flu, this was bound to happen.
Conspiracies are gonna be the new religion

Alf 15-01-2021 11:39 PM

Probably not. Unless I'm pinned down and forced it or if I really need to take it for some emergency.

I can survive without travelling to other countries, I've survived for 43 years so far on that front. A few more won't make a difference.
