Are you interested in Woman's Football?

For some reason, Five LIve (and BBC football) seem to think lots of people are whereas Talksport dont

Are you?

Shaun 08-02-2021 04:38 PM

I feel bad for saying it but no, not really... I can't really find two facets of the same sport interesting enough to keep up with, outside of international tournaments when I'll support England obviously.

I follow Arsenal Ladies from time to time but wouldn't really watch a game; I rarely watch the men's game despite having Sky Sports  but I have to admit the main draw to watching football is to keep up with friends who watch the same stuff, so if no one I know is watching women's football, I don't really see any point if I have no one to talk about it with.

The Slim Reaper 08-02-2021 04:38 PM

No. It's just not very good. Obviously it's a young sport, and so as it improves I'll happily watch it, but not at the moment.

Nicky91 08-02-2021 04:39 PM

yes i like watching our women's team matches more than the men's team

and also few players who i'm a fan of

Lieke Martens, Vivianne Miedema, Danielle van den Donk

we got some great quality, strong team (great coach too in Wiegman)

here yes

but overall no, in US it has been going on for a longer while, two of their past legends are Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly

Cherie 08-02-2021 04:43 PM

No, I know as a woman I should probably say yes but I really don’t like it :worry:

AnnieK 08-02-2021 04:44 PM

My Dad watches it....but if you told him that knitting was a sport and they put it on Sky Sports, he'd watch it

I wouldn't sit down a watch a game though...

When Finland is playing, yes.

Nicky91 08-02-2021 04:55 PM

England women's team well few players are quite good, and have faith since ur gonna have our success coach Sarina Wiegman now too as the next manager :clap1:

Vicky. 08-02-2021 05:01 PM

No, but am not interested in football fullstop.

If I liked football, I would prefer watching the womens I would think, especially given from what I hear, the womens team is better than the mens? (relatively. I know the men would run rings in a women v men match...no need to say that!)

Brother Leon 08-02-2021 05:18 PM

I’ve honestly enjoyed following the United ladies this year. Casey Stoney is doing a great job. Usually though it’s just the world cups and steam USA if I’m being honest.

hijaxers 08-02-2021 05:49 PM

We do not get football ever on our tv never ever ever and no one is allowed to watch it here .
Beautiful game ~ my arse.

GiRTh 08-02-2021 05:50 PM

I like it cuz I'm dead woke.

To be serious, the skill level is very high but obvious the physicality is not the same and there are far more dodgy keepers in the women's game that there ever could be in the mens game. I like that most good games become very tactical.

The women's team have done ok in some major tournaments in the last few years but are ranked lower than the men atm and think they've been pretty lacklustre recently

MTVN 08-02-2021 05:58 PM

I do watch England women in major tournaments and would watch West Ham if they were in cup finals etc but otherwise no

Nothing against it, its just a completely different product

Niamh. 08-02-2021 06:08 PM

I'm not massively into football in general, I like watching Liverpool play because of Gavin really, we always have a good laugh watching games with a few drinks or at the Pub when there was such a thing as going to the Pub. The sports I'm actually into boxing and MMA, I like the womens as much as the men's really, currently my favourite fighters from each are women (Katie Taylor & Amanda Nunes)

Alf 08-02-2021 06:15 PM

No! it's sh!te. Stick to knitting and bingo, ladies, you're embarrassing yourselves trying to play a man's game.

joeysteele 08-02-2021 06:38 PM

Not really, I will watch it and have seen very competitive and good matches though.

Alf 08-02-2021 06:44 PM

Promoting woman's football is done for a reason. It's all about dividing, that's the goal for the people who run things. Divide and conquer, that's the plan in all walks of life. We see them.

I think men’s football is disgusting in terms of the money that’s paid to someone for kicking a ball and most footballers are arrogant twats.

Got nothing against women’s football but as you can tell from the above sentence, I’ve got no time for football in general.

The money is obscene at times. Whats kind of annoyed me through this covid stuff, is my son can no longer play football, despite kids under 10 being pretty much 0 risk, and they seem to spread it less also. I know people will think this is overstatement, but its really affected him, hes such a social kid..hes a ghost of himself at the min tbh. Yet, adult men can congregate and hug, and everything to play??! Seems a bit of a pisstake, that football players are apparently so important the covid rules dont apply to them..especially when so many openly flout the 'restrictions' they are meant to stick to? Then its 'oh, they havent won in a while, of course they hugged and got emotional!!!'

Black Dagger 08-02-2021 07:50 PM

Oh Alf hen. Do try to be less try hard and boring.

I'll follow City ladies results but sadly don't really watch them live unless they're on BBC. I don't go out of my way to stream them.

Are your team ready to play us yet, or are they gonna cry off again?

You ain't won nothing yet, we're coming for this title. Everton are back in the big time, your time is coming to an end.

I feel for your son because it’s a big part of his life that’s been taken away hopefully we can get some normality soon

That’s the massive p1ss take with footballers they get treated so differently to the average person.

How many times darling. Take it up with the FA. They were the ones who called the match off.

Mystic Mock 24-02-2021 04:20 PM

I always keep an eye on how the Blues women's team is doing.

I also hope to find the next Alex Scott.

rusticgal 24-02-2021 04:25 PM

I have watched it before...but having watched so much mens football over the years I find it hard to enjoy womens football as much
I watch Netball when I can...but if men started playing it I would find that odd as well.
