Taylor Swift announces Fearless: Taylor's Version (OUT NOW)
 

After the controversy last year with Scooter Braun purchasing the masters for Taylor's first six albums, she has re-recorded her Fearless album, which will have new versions of all tracks from the original album and six new unreleased songs from that era and will be released in April.

Love Story is getting a release tonight, and will be the new version.

I think Scooter Braun is now selling that label now because he knows he will not be making much money from Taylor anymore with these re-releases.

It wasn't going to be new music - the idea behind this is to have new versions of her albums she can use going forward, instead of using her old masters and missing out on money and sales that would go back to the original label.

The song sounds pretty much the same, which is the intention, just added depth to vocals and the arrangement.

Taylor is the writer behind every song she's released and produces the song with a small team. It's impressive you think that's still being "Self obsessed" when it's someone wanting to own their work.

I thought it would be more different, tbh. I was expecting the earlier country albums to get the Folklore/Evermore treatment, which I'd have been here for.

I don’t understand why people are expecting changes? The plan is to re-record them, not change them... the songs don’t need changing, they were fine as they were. Maybe reputation will need changing because that album was pretty awful

It was never going to be different - the idea is for her to have masters of her songs, which are as identical to the original versions as they can be without getting into any legal battle.

You're telling me things I already know, but it doesn't make the finished product any less boring. If I was in her shoes, I would have probably tried to improve on what I did before.

On one hand I think good for her on the other something about her reselling the exact same work to her fans and profiting all over again from it ain't sitting right. If she cared just about owning the songs again why not make them free?
