If I'm buying a loaf for sandwiches, I'll get Warburtons orange, but I don't really each that much bread so usually get a baguette or bloomer.

What happened to that one, did somebody sit on it?

Beso 18-02-2021 01:03 PM

Anything not sliced, with some oats and seeds in it for my soup.

LaLaLand 18-02-2021 01:04 PM

All sorts really but a staple is the thick Roberts’ loaf in the orange packaging - the BEST toast!!

Kate! 18-02-2021 01:05 PM

Warburtons Orange. It makes great toast and is very tasty.

Never seen the 'be good' one not around in my day, we were half starved we didn't need to be good

My mother used to bake all our bread, how we longed for sliced shop bought bread, now I would give my house for my Moms bread...

Yeah the Be Good one is relatively new. Has to be the original white one for a Tayto sandwich though

Josy 18-02-2021 03:25 PM

Normally any of the half and half or best of both types, I like the kingsmill vitamin boost too

Alf 18-02-2021 03:30 PM

Alf's tip of the day

Learn to make your own bread

You can even get bread makers these days.

Stock up on bread making materials

You'll thank me if ever a famine came and we ended up like Venezuela, eating pets and zoo animals.

AnnieK 18-02-2021 03:51 PM

The tiger bread from aldi is lovely.

We have toastie warburtons for toast.

Don't eat loads of bread though...but I do like it.

I have a bread maker.....gathering dust at the back of my cupboard

hijaxers 18-02-2021 04:44 PM

Hovis best of both , for quite a while now because it lasts ! we found Warburtons went mouldy quite fast. We really don't eat much bread so if we've no Hovis i do part baked baguettes ~ nice and crunchy

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2021 04:48 PM

i aways keep my bread in the fridge

Alf 18-02-2021 04:51 PM

Who remembers "Mighty White" do they still do that? I haven't seen it for years.

Probably seen as racist in these times, probably been thrown in the bin with Uncle Ben.

Nicky91 18-02-2021 04:55 PM

usually

https://static.ahold.com/cmgtcontent...ptions=399,q85

3 of these, mostly for the weekend then we prefer white bread (also yummier for grilled cheese sandwiches)

https://static.ahold.com/image-optim...ptions=399,q85

and 3 of these, wheat brown bread for weekdays

yes we eat a lot of bread here  breakfast, lunch, sometimes dinner (thursday and sunday quick and easy meal with all sorts of yummy things)

Crimson Dynamo 18-02-2021 04:56 PM

this was one of my fave adverts in the 70s

I'm guessing that's the one they sing in an episode of the Royle Family?

I mainly eat focaccia flatbreads, or harvest buns, from the bakery.
Hubby varies the changes for himself, wholemeal and another loaf of his choice.
We steer clear of Warburtons, because many years ago the Mrs upset my mother-in-law at a dinner, bit up themselves she thought.

GoldHeart 18-02-2021 07:12 PM

Seeded bread and a cinnamon & raisin one
