Get rid of the chairs, we don't need media presence, all they do is interfere and cause trouble.

Jordan. 16-03-2021 02:54 PM

I like it. Looks great!

joeysteele 16-03-2021 03:05 PM

Just unnecessary in my view.

Looks like a big brother task room

Who’s pocketed the other 2.45 million?

Russia

Well it looks fine, but there's no way the massive price tag went on that. I'm guessing their mates got the most of it.

president suits him better than prime minister too

Scarlett. 16-03-2021 04:03 PM

Given how much use it's gotten this past year, upgrading it is an okay idea

I don't think anyone much begrudges the concept of it being upgraded, but that's not a multi-million pound upgrade...

Total waste of millions of pounds in my view, sorry.

Ah, I hadn't realised it had cost so much... in that case, I'd have expected it to not look like they got some blue rolls of paper and haphazardly placed them

bots 16-03-2021 05:05 PM

it's not just a room

There is all sorts of communications equipment and facilities that will be used by journalists to report from there. It's shocking I know, but equipment does cost money

arista 19-03-2021 07:17 AM

joeysteele 19-03-2021 08:22 AM

Indeed.
On QT last night, it was near unanimously considered to have been a total unnecessary expense from public funds at this time.

I reckon that TV is a Samsung refurb fitted by Parmy and he's pocketed a cool £1million.

user104658 19-03-2021 08:32 AM

They should bin those chairs and replace them with these badboys - really complete the aesthetic

the value for money aspect of it can only surely be measured against the quality of the output that comes from it. If it's a propaganda outlet, well it's not worth the money. If it allows us to hear accurate news without having it manipulated by dodgy tabloids then it will be of benefit. Time will tell.

It's a waste no matter what comes out of it.

How will that have anything to do with how much they spent on it? They could output accurate good quality news from Boris' garage!

the value of anything can only be measured by what it produces, and as we have no reference yet as to what the quality of this will be, we can't possibly know yet. I have to say that i am personally skeptical, but I will judge it after its up and running, not before

Zizu 24-03-2021 12:02 PM

Am I hearing correctly .. that Prime Minister David Cameron who is an advisor for a failed and unscrupulous finance company put pressure on his ex political allies to bail the firm out before it collapsed.. using tax payers money ?

The money didn't go on a tin of blue paint and a few chairs. The technical set-up will be mind-boggling.
