They shaved their hair for in support of cancer issues.

They lost their Mum to cancer a couple of years ago.

Absolutely right Ammi.

I am still however an admittedly happy fan of Jedward.

Nothing wrong on getting political, they are grown men and voters too arista.
They'll have views on things good and wrong too.

Their hair shaved was for Cancer causes.
Not political at all.

Yes too Ammi, Mock and I ran that gauntlet for a long time re Jedward.

I still like them, actually wish they had got into presenting on TV.
Like an Ant and Dec but more zany.

There's an annoying song I have of them, which I still play loads of times.
It's called 'hope'.
Almost continuous chorus but once played I can't get it out of my mind.:joker:

Hear me out, but Jedward’s is the best account on Twitter right now and here’s why...

Two actually. Their second run was more interesting because we got more John and Edward, less Jedward.

And they placed better that way too, they came 3rd the first time and 2nd the second time I think? I know it's easier for them because there is always 2 of them in it together but I love how they handled people in there, people who tried to pick on them and pick on the weaker ones or ostracized ones. I don't agree with all their views but I like them

I liked their second run because it served as a great example on a few occasions that "acting silly" is not the same as "being stupid", and they were underestimated by other housemates multiple times.

Hm. I always assumed their hair was bleached. Looks like the white type colour may be natural :S

Vicky. 31-03-2021 11:11 AM

Agree on the second time being better than the first. They annoyed me so much first time around, and seemed to have matured(at least somewhat) on their second run and I actually enjoyed them a lot then..

First time they were trying to play up to the jedward image though, as they were still reasonably in demand. Second time, they were more able to be themselves instead of acting constantly I think.

Yes absolutely. One time that springs to mind was when Nicola thought they'd thrown food on the floor (wrongly) and she was clearly just looking for the opportunity to lay into them, the way they handled that was hilarious

Well in that case, if they did, they'll be in good company with all the professional politicians who MESS UP.

.....well that’s a logic that can’t be argued with for sure...

Tom4784 31-03-2021 12:56 PM

I love their political era.

Tom4784 31-03-2021 12:59 PM

Also politics affects everyone and so everyone gets a say whether you like it or not. People who act like politics isn't for everyone are just trying to exclude viewpoints they dislike, and it's immature as ****.

It's really a form of superiority and snobbery to say otherwise

arista 31-03-2021 01:02 PM

5mins Clip

...*cough* Laurence Fox is apparently appropriate for politics but those two Jedwards....no, why would they be political...

As always, celebrities (loosely applied, when it comes to Fox) are allowed to engage in politics, but only when they have a right wing view. It's only when they don't that certain groups get in a huff about their views.

...and also the guys have just recently lost their much loved mom to cancer and that’s a fairly huge life changing thing of reassessing and re-valuation of so many things in your life and wanting to put meaning into your own life, I think...(for them...)...I would say that it’s all been very much a life defining moment for them of thoughts of ’making some slight difference in the positive ’...

The Slim Reaper 31-03-2021 01:24 PM

Imagine calling every woman in every story a slapper or a hussy, then being worried that jedward would mess up.

Very true, if they've been inspired to make a difference, then we should applaud them. We should encourage people of all walks of life to engage in politics, not tell them to stay out of it.

...yeah, as Joey said earlier as well...look at some of the benchmarks they have in the world of politics...they don’t have to even aspire very highly to excel those ‘heights’...

...yeah, that’s the whole issue atm, isn’t it...that we’ve become a ‘one party’ country and when that happens, all we’ll get is worse and worse ...more and more people for more and more choices is what is needed more than anything and children from beginning school need to be more and more engaged in their future in terms of politics....the changes that are needed can’t be made unless the changes that are needed are understood...

I'll have you know they've been political for about a year now. They were hugely helpful to Ireland in things like BLM and being against pesky anti-maskers, in addition to other things.

I'm not sure cancer awareness is necessarily political though, it's just them being helpful to a noble cause by having their heads shaved, and they spoke candidly about their mum's cancer struggles on the show too.

Yeah 100% loads of people (especially those who've lost a loved one to it) raise money/awareness for cancer and cancer charities
