Princess Diana's biographer Andrew Morton claims that Meghan Markle led a 'normal life' during her time as a royal and was seen 'out and about with friends at restaurants', despite telling Oprah she didn't leave the house

By CHLOE MORGAN FOR MAILONLINE
PUBLISHED: 11:27, 2 April 2021 | UPDATED: 17:04, 3 April 2021

Meghan Markle appeared to lead a 'normal life' during her time as a royal - despite the bombshell revelations she made during the tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview, Princess Diana's biographer claimed.
Andrew Morton, who famously penned Princess Diana's blockbuster biography in 1992, claimed friends told him they saw the Duchess of Sussex, 39, out and about with friends during her time in the Royal Family.

In the extraordinary interview watched by tens of millions of people around the world, Meghan claimed she only left the house twice in four months when she was living at the palace and alleged that officials took her 'passport, my driving licence, my keys.'.....

'But then again, well, friends of mine said they've seen Meghan walking from Whole Foods supermarket on Kensington High Street with bags of foods back to Kensington Palace.
He continued: 'It didn't seem too much like a prison. Other friends have seen her out and about with friends at restaurants, so she seems, to me, to have led a normal life.'
..............
More lies exposed....she made it sound to Oprah as if she was being held against her will and practically a prisoner. All to gain sympathy to bolster support for her poor victim status and make the royals look bad once again. What a devious schemer she is.

Well no chance of Oprah inviting her back to explain the fact that 'her truth' is in fact complete bullshyte.

How fun another person taking her feeling of being trapped to meaning she must have been shackled to the palace walls. Any other vicious lies been exposed recently or just more retreading of the same nonsense?

Cherie 03-04-2021 05:08 PM

It's clear to me now anyway that they always intended to move away but needed a Royal Wedding for the Titles which which opened doors for them.

I have no problem with them moving away and the reasons they did it, but a bit of honesty wouldn't go amiss would it

Crimson Dynamo 03-04-2021 05:09 PM

I think now the case against them is complete. The sham interview was a pack of well-rehearsed lies and now they have made their beds they now have to lie in them. I hope they are proud that a man lost his job over this debacle. disgraceful.

Thats pretty impossible when you think you are perfect and everyone else is at fault.

If you're talking about Piers he doesn't seem to be that affected by it? He manged to sell a tonne of his book to the gullible public who are the real losers in all of this.

Not having Piers on GMBHD itv
is shocking
they must find someone new to take his place.

As that Lightweight Ben
is no good.

I think calling thousands of random people from all walks of life gullible is a little rich

Bearing in mind the only really defence we have seen for megan is ," you don't know her"

Yes, why not just say from the start that they were going to live in LA after marriage, have it all above board and just go? Who would have cared? It's all the lies and deception and throwing blame around and playing the victim card over and over that is disgraceful.

Wasn't you telling us Harry had his heart set on Africa? now you are sure he had LA planned from the start. You don't seem very conclusive on the matter yourself. Whatever boot fits today I guess.

He always wanted to settle in Africa and the Queen even offered him and Meghan a Commonwealth post there, but Meghan was obviously set on the glitz and glam and celeb lifestyle of LA and turned it down and Harry fell in line. As he said himself "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets".

jet 03-04-2021 05:52 PM

I'd go further and suspect she played the victim card with Harry too to get him to do what she wanted.

Snap for me there too TS.

I think my position is clear from other threads, I for sure know others position too.
There comes a point where there's no such thing as real debate and it's just going round in circles.

I still see nothing of any magnitude to character assassinate Meghan Markle for.
That's my view and position which isn't going to be changed.
So I'm bowing out of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex threads now.
I've said all I need to anyway.

Although I have to partly agree with arista above, not to have Piers Morgan on morning TV again.
However he's right on Ben Shepherd, they need someone different to him on the show definitely, after just waking he near enough sends me back to sleep.

Again as on all other threads, I just wish Prince Harry and his wife Meghan well and success in all they do.
I'm not that interested in them to scrutinise every word or thing they do but I hope all continues to work out for them and their children.

[Piers Morgan reveals he's had messages from
the Royal Family expressing
'gratitude someone was standing up for them'
in the aftermath of Harry and Meghan's bombshell Oprah interview

Morgan made the admission in an interview
with Extra's Billy Bush that is set to air Tuesday night
The former British breakfast TV host said
the messages from the Royal Family
expressed 'gratitude someone was standing up for them'
Morgan left his TV show, Good Morning Britain,
back on March 9 over his on-air comments
about Meghan Markle in the wake
of the Oprah interview
He had said that he didn't believe
a word of Markle's interview and slammed
her for insinuating that the Royal Family was racist]

Piers stop going on USA Shows
go on SkyNewsHD
and sad BBCnewsHD.

I have to disagree
He called them out for the lies they told and their version of the truth and it cost him his job.

Im not obsessed with Harry and Meghan and every one is entitled to live their life the way they want to but it’s blatantly obvious that this pair have created a story line to suit their needs.

Agreed

bots 07-04-2021 07:07 AM

if the royals actually did thank piers for defending them (which i think is highly unlikely) isn't he showing disrespect and breaking trust with the royal family in making it public? In fact behaving the same as he was criticizing Harry and Meghan for

He’s allowed to though because he’s bashing Meghan some more. Her haters will applaud him for doing so.

He has been full on obsessing over Meghan since she brushed him off a long time before any TV interviews and such, when it reaches a level that he can't control himself enough that it costs him his job that's a bad sign.

Creepy old guy that can't handle the fact she blew him out so tries everything he can as well as using his fan base to bash her and make her out to be a bad person.

Yes if only he did not call her a Lie
if he said "she misspoke"
He could still be on GMBHD itv.

Then the Woke Gang
would not attack him,
as much.

that is a false narrative

his job was to report news his producers told him to each morning

he was a news anchor on GMB

you may as well say he was obsessed with coronavirus, antisemitism, Boris Johnston and Donald Trump

He talked a lot about Markle because that is what his audience wanted

that is why he hit record viewing figures

arista 07-04-2021 09:08 AM

Royal Family thank Piers

https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/hk...3-57c15a150fa4

Piers Morgan, DailyMail.com's Editor-at-Large and successful and popular TV Anchor, has revealed that he had messages on
behalf of members of the Royal Family expressing 'gratitude someone was standing up for
them' in the wake of Harry and Meghan's Oprah Winfrey interview. Morgan made the
admission in an interview with Extra's Billy Bush, which is set to air Tuesday night, when
he was asked if anyone from the Royal Family had reached out following the couple's
sham interview last month.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...al-Family.html

top comment: Im not surprised he's had messages of support from the Royal Family. I
think an awful lot of the British public are pleased he's raised questions about the
Markles interview and Oprah's acceptance of their claims. They weren't challenged on
anything - it was a terribly one sided view.

arista 07-04-2021 10:10 AM

Yes Very Nice of them
to thank him.

Oliver_tomlins4 07-04-2021 10:47 AM

So that whole “Harry, Meghan and Archie are much loved members of our family” was a load of garbage then. Interesting.
