A long time no one has a problem welcoming a new baby into the world
Congratulations to them and anyone else who has given birth recently.

Her wreath for Philip was signed with the nickname at his funeral, it’s what he called her apparently

Congratulations Harry and Meghan

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced the birth of their second child, a baby girl.
Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday morning in a hospital in Santa Barbara, California.
Both mother and child are healthy and well, the pair said in a statement.
The couple said they named their second child Lilibet after the Royal Family's nickname for the Queen, the baby's great-grandmother.
Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her "beloved late grandmother", The Princess of Wales, the statement said.
Royal Family tree and line of succession
Lilibet was born at 11:40am local time 19:40 BST, weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and is now "settling in at home".
She is the Queen's 11th great-grandchild and is eighth in line to the throne.
In a message of thanks on the couple's Archewell website, they said: "On June 4, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili.
"She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we've felt from across the globe.
"Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family."
Prince Harry and Meghan had their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May 2019, before they stepped back from their roles as senior royals.

The Queen is Elizabeth

Lilibet was her childhood nickname as she could not say Elizabeth

not sure using someone else's nickname as a real name is a good idea

seems very twee to me :/

This thread is about the birth of a child.

Doesn't really need negativity and to be closed :nono:

Their child, their name choice. I am sure there will be people who don't like.my son's name....their problem, not mine.

And it's a nice tribute to Diana .

Charlotte’s middle name is also Diana so she is well remembered at this stage

There still isn't anything wrong with Meghan & Harry wanting to add Diana's name , it is their baby and their choice after all. And they even added The Queen's name.

Beautiful name.
Lillibet is such an affectionate name for our Queen and baby being named after her is lovely.
Congratulations to them both, and little Archie having a sister.

…my OH’s father had a ring made for him once which was engraved with the nickname he had for him since he was a child because there was a specific personal meaning attached…we chose that name for one of our sons as well so yeah, it’s something that I totally associate with …Lilibet (Lili) is a beautiful name…God’s Promise…

…welcome to the world little Lili Diana….…

My brother gave his youngest daughter my mum's name as her middle name. She was the last grandchild and the only one born after my mum died. It was sad that she would never know her Grandma but nice they kept mum involved in her life
