Getting pretty strong these winds in the north west where I live. I know its been worse other parts. But our house is shaking a bit and a few fences around the area are down already. I'm quite scared of wind that strong! Let us know what damage you all come across in the morning

GoldHeart 26-11-2021 09:53 PM

Even in IAC Ant & Dec mentioned something about the weather being bad, seems to be all over .

The winds are really strong ,I keep hearing bins fall over outside .

Mystic Mock 26-11-2021 11:07 PM

It's pissing it down where I live.

Hopefully it stays at that level and it doesn't get worse.:fc:

LaLaLand 26-11-2021 11:48 PM

So bad here (North Wales).

Power cuts everywhere, ours has just come back on now after a couple of hours but flickering constantly, bound to go again soon.

Roads blocked by big fallen trees, torrential rain and gale force wind, hailstones from earlier have compacted to the roads and just frozen over so it'd bedlam to drive. Fence panels have gone, bins have gone...

Crazy.

Alf 27-11-2021 06:18 AM

So cold last night/this morning.

These climate change freaks are gonna freeze us to death.

I had on 3 thermal tshirts, a jumper, a fleece jacket and a woolen jacket top, and I was frozen.

thesheriff443 27-11-2021 07:26 AM

We’ve got wind and rain in the south east but I called 999 at 340 this morning heard a loud thud
Looked out of my bedroom window and saw a car In the ditch across the road went over there with phone torch on to find a guy looking at his phone with the car still running

Had the hallmarks of a drunk driver so went inside and phoned the police they came in about 10 minutes the guy was still sat in the car

Alf 27-11-2021 07:32 AM

We had a drop of snow last night.

Vanessa 27-11-2021 07:33 AM

No wind here in London, but it's cold and rainy.

GoldHeart 27-11-2021 07:46 AM

Total white covering of snow now

Alf 27-11-2021 07:56 AM

I've known cold before, but just lately it's getting colder than ever. I'm starting to have sympathy with what the people of Scotland have been through all these years.

You feel the cold more when you get older

Bloody Scotland what about the Eskimo’s

thesheriff443 27-11-2021 08:07 AM

Talking of Eskimo’s, evolution has seen their faces become flat so there noses are very flat because if they stuck out they would freeze

Alf 27-11-2021 08:12 AM

I'll have to make a big pan of Stew and Dumplings this weekend.

AnnieK 27-11-2021 08:24 AM

Wild winds here last night...we got about 10 mins if snow but it didn't stick. Freezing though and still quite gusty. Not raining though now so that's a bonus

Crimson Dynamo 27-11-2021 08:27 AM

Met Office published the highest gust recorded as 98mph at Brizlee Wood in Northumberland.

How has it been in your neck of the woods LT?

Jordan. 27-11-2021 08:39 AM

Woke up to a power cut expected to be fixed in 12 hours... luckily I'm at work most of the day.

That’s not how climate change works and the more extreme weather over the last few years is, in fact, evidence of climate change/global warming.

Global warming means higher average temperatures, globally, across the year. It doesn’t mean it’s always warmer. It does mean more hurricanes and storms, high winds, flooding, unusual winter weather. If you want to see the “warming” part take a look at Australia, California, the Tropics etc. In their summer months. Hottest temps on record being recorded year-on-year.

What climate change means for Britain is gradually losing our “moderate” weather, which means colder, more chaotic winters.

Crimson Dynamo 27-11-2021 09:03 AM

Up in the valley they lost power at 9 pm and its still off!

user104658 27-11-2021 09:04 AM

Neighbours came hammering the door last night because the kids trampoline (massive 12 foot thing) had vaulted the 6 foot fence, just missed their car, and carried in into the street. Managed to wrestle it back to the garden in high winds and it’s now dismantled. It’s ancient and funnily enough I was just thinking last week that I needed to get around to taking it apart and get it to the dump! Hand has now been forced.

arista 27-11-2021 09:09 AM

Nicky91 27-11-2021 09:11 AM

those 2 shouldn't have died if there were proper weather warnings on the news

Stay Indoors especially with storms like these (and any stormy weather throughout the year)

smudgie 27-11-2021 09:11 AM

Very windy up here in the North East.
Hubby had to check the newly built wall hadn’t fallen down, loads of builders stuff blowing against it.
Very wild all night, rain, hail and still blowing wild out there.

Let’s get some coal burnt and warm our asses up.

Even Arwen
Stopped ITV1HD going live in the Castle.
Friday night.

They had to record it early.

LaLaLand 27-11-2021 10:47 AM

Still going (very) strong here.

Supermarkets are all shut local to me because of the conditions and the wind has even sent an oil tanker into the local Tesco (tipped it as it was coming around a corner and sent it into the side of the building, overturned). Mayhem.

Ex Mrs LT says power will not be on in the valley now till 10 pm (from 9pm last night) and literally zero phone signal either - she is not there at mo as she is down at shops in Perth but the poor boy is stuck there frozen with no heating no phone no ps5

It will be like my childhood in the seventies i told her :joker:

Alf 27-11-2021 11:39 AM

Does that mean TV and Internet are down?

Did Alf predict a black-out when the Maxwell trial starts?

Strictly Jake 27-11-2021 11:48 AM

Had to go out at half 7 to pick up everything that had been thrown around in the garden including a big trampoline. Our neighbours fence had broken off it got really bad through the night

arista 27-11-2021 12:00 PM

Its no longer Red Alert.

arista 27-11-2021 12:26 PM
