silence

Better for independent and smaller studios win the awards than the bloated big studio excretions.

arista 25-03-2022 03:32 PM

Live on SkyHD SkyOscarsMovies Ch302 1AM This Sunday.

I will record it.

arista 25-03-2022 04:50 PM

[In an unassuming home in Hollywood,
cardboard boxes and black suitcases wait
in the front hall. “Congratulations, Benedict Cumberbatch”
reads a laminated card on top of a suitcase.
A similar one for Judi Dench sits atop a box,
ready for shipping to the UK.
All around the house, luxury products – moisturisers,
sunglasses – are cluttered on tables.
The place has the feel of
Santa’s grotto on Christmas Eve.

This is the home of the fabulously
named Lash Fary, the Father Christmas behind
the annual unofficial Oscars gift bag,
which is officially the biggest gift bag
the nominees receive.
Gift bags, actually: there are enough items to
fill a large suitcase and carrier bag,
and they get sent to what Fary
describes as “the top nominees” – : best actor,
best actress, best director, best supportings.]

Yeah I'll be giving this one miss, not only have the Oscars become just an utter 3 hour borefest, but with Amy Schumer i imagine this year's in particular being unbearable to sit through.

arista 28-03-2022 02:04 AM

big time.

Adding Pathetic Lame comedy

arista 28-03-2022 04:39 AM

Will Smith on getting his Oscar
was crying.

He mentioned Denzel's comment
to him, "At your Highest moment
be careful, that's when the Devil
gets you."

He also Apologised
to the Academy.

The Whole show went 15mins over its time.

arista 28-03-2022 04:50 AM

[Up until Smith's assault on Rock,
the show had been running fairly smoothly.

Meanwhile, the organizers of the Oscars
are under fire for paying 'tribute' to the people of Ukraine
without mentioning the country
by name or directly addressing Russia's invasion,
despite the hosts' eagerness to go
after domestic political issues.

The 94th Academy Awards got underway
Sunday night at 8pm, with ABC carrying
the three-hour telecast from the
Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Actress Mila Kunis, who was born
in Ukraine, took the stage at the Oscars to
address Russia's invasion of her home country,
leading a moment of silence after praising
'those who keep fighting through
unfathomable darkness.'

Kunis, without mentioning Ukraine
or Russia by name, said that in recent weeks the
world had been shocked by 'recent global events',
before introducing country superstar Reba McEntire,
who delivered a live performance of Somehow You Do.]

While violence is never ok. Neither was the joke that Chris made. I assume he didn't know about Jada's condition but still wasn't a clever joke to make if you don't know someones story. Will was defending his wife. Imagine how awkward Jada must have felt sensing the awkwardness in the room or perhaps people laughing when she was probably not feeling at her most confident you can see the sadness on her face. Will would have seem that and I get why he was angry and I get why he defended her. Wasn't the right way to do it but I'm siding with Will

MTVN 28-03-2022 07:19 AM

Was a poor taste joke tbh and easy to sympathise with Will Smith because of it but you can't react like that, bit weird he was able to just retake his seat and no one did anything about it

No GMBHD itv
said Chris Rock was aware of her hair condition.
And she is a Tough Actress

As Chris Rock never made a complaint for the Punch/Slap
the police are not taking it further.

I got in 1 little fight and my mum got scared she said youre moving with your aunty n uncle in bel air

user104658 28-03-2022 08:24 AM

IIRC in most US states an "open-hand slap" is considered a much less serious form of assault than a punch (as to be fair, it's much less likely to cause serious injury) but yeah :umm2: ... I understand his anger but you can't lose your cool to the point of physical assault.

If he'd just shouted clearly angry like he did afterwards I think he'd have gotten the point across. In fact, I think the audience thought it was a planned part of the show until he followed up with the shouting.

user104658 28-03-2022 08:29 AM

Chris Rock missed a golden opportunity. "When you watch a documentary... you feel smart. Much smarter than... say... Jada Pinkett Smith."

Then just ****ing run :joker:
