Well that's my day off ruined..

Effing Amazon delivery guy.

I'm sat watching the racing l, chilling and relaxing for a change.

I see him coming up the path, then the bell rings. So up I get( I was perched cause I saw him), but then the handle goes in the door, I heard it..

So I get to the door a few seconds later, open it and there is my parcel, leaning against the door with him walking back down my path.

I effing roared a bit, when I accosted him for trying my handle, and leaving the parcel like that.

I would say 2 seconds before he waited to try, drop then leave.

My hearts still going.

arista 02-03-2022 01:56 PM

Do you normally let them put inside the home

Livia 02-03-2022 01:58 PM

I had a Yodel driver walk round the back of my house and come in through the back doors. I don't know who was more surprised, him or the dog.

At least they let you know they are outside with a gentle song

Cherie 02-03-2022 02:12 PM

Yeah some drivers are super speedy, but then I suppose they are paid per delivery

He can go as fast as he likes in his little van, he cant ring my bell, try my door handle and leave a parcel against it all in the space of 5 seconds though

So you ring a bell, try a handle, them leave a parcel on a doorstep...all in the space of 6 seconds....

And that's your excuse......you see why I'm angry yeah.

arista 02-03-2022 02:29 PM

He rang the bell, keep up

Parm in all honesty there are alot of things to be angry about, this isn't one of them, you got your parcel

if you had been out and the parcel was nicked I could see your point

trying your door handle is not such a bit deal?

I usually lock my front door but once found a parcel in my porch as I had forgotton to lock it.... so I guess they try the door as some people leave them open? even if just in error

Glenn. 02-03-2022 02:36 PM

Calm down Karen

Beso 02-03-2022 02:36 PM

It wasnt my parcel...

Get back in your van, you have customers waiting.

Glenn. 02-03-2022 02:38 PM

Yeah I don't know what the issue is at all, my front door opening to a porch is usually unlocked during the day, if a delivery guy opened it to put a parcel I wouldn't have an issue with it

thesheriff443 02-03-2022 02:54 PM

When we are working they try and give us customers parcels
Lazy bastards the lot of them.

Glenn. 02-03-2022 03:06 PM

Well as most of them are paid by the parcel I hardly think calling them lazy bastards is fair.

Vanessa 02-03-2022 03:17 PM

That happened to me recently. I ran after him in my nightgown and slippers. He must have thought I was mad :joker:

MTVN 02-03-2022 03:24 PM

Trying the handle seems a bit sus to me, I'd think he might be on the rob thinking that no one's home. Even if not just because he's got a parcel doesn't give him the right to enter someone's home

Also as we're on the subject of Delivery drivers etc, DPD have to be the most amazing of all the couriers, they send a text and an email and tell you the name and phone number of your driver and give you the time (within an hour) they will deliver

Yeah DPD are the best out there and they are always on time

Royal Mail do the same but never come on time

Yeah most DPD deliveries are very good and on time . I don't think I've had many issues with them.

I've noticed in general though that not many delivery drivers leave cards anymore, they seem to rather leave it on the doorstep if you're not in or with a neighbour.

Royal mail are always like that , maybe because they deliver letters aswell so their schedule isn't always accurate  .

DPD phone you and ask what to do with it if you're not there. I usually get stuff delivered to work as there's no one at home usually during the day. The last time they were delivering something it was before 9am and no one was in work yet so the driver rang me and I told him to leave it with the company next door. (I sound like a DPD Sales rep now  )

bots 02-03-2022 04:35 PM

i had a royal mail delivery yesterday and they didnt attempt to deliver it. They usually stick it on the door step and ring the bell, but this time he just put a card through my door. Car in the driveway too :fist:

If they can get someone else to do their job by handing someone’s parcel to some stranger that makes them lazy.

It’s like getting paid to walk a dog, taking it to the park and asking someone else to walk it.

These arsholes don’t care about someone’s items

Crimson Dynamo 02-03-2022 04:45 PM

They ding the bell and leave in porch for me. My dog is barks like mad when this happens in case I'm in back garden or sheds. She gets a treat when she alerts me.

Maybe you should take a walk in their boots and see how you feel about it instead of being a keyboard warrior and insulting them on the internet.
