No. It's for a very hungry Kid or mother or an old person with little money Or Even staff meals Give them credit doing for doing £1.20 meals |
The yellow brings to mind short dated reductions a bit but hard to see what the problem is, if it's standing out then I'd say the branding is quite effective
This does just have the impression of a 'news story' built on a couple of rogue tweets though |

Yes it is Free Publicity for the ISSA Brothers (Born in England) who own Asda UK, now. |

Are ready meals bad for you?
Did you know that in the UK, 2 in 5 adults eat ready meals every week? There are many reasons why you might opt for a ready meal over a home- cooked one. Perhaps you don’t have time to cook, or live on your own and don’t feel motivated. Maybe you don’t know how to cook or just don’t enjoy it. Whatever your reasons, ready meals aren’t always as nutritious as cooking a meal from scratch. This is because they don’t always provide your body with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy. Ready meals can be high in salt and fat and low in other nutrients. Eating foods high in calories may cause you to put on weight. And too much salt in your diet is linked to high blood pressure. So, if you eat foods high in salt and fat often, you may increase your risk of health problems like cardiovascular disease and diabetes. https://www.bupa.co.uk/newsroom/ourviews/ready-meals |

Aldi do a great 100% nuts peanut butter, no palm oil 280g jar for £1.15
https://aldprdproductimages.azureedg...490465_0_S.jpg Tesco do Meridian 280g for £2.60 https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/s...nx8xa&usqp=CAE Cant tell the diff between the two |
Yes LT
Aldi has some great savings Now Asda UK has cheaper meals for those who lack funds and they are easy to find |
Morrisons brands have the 'you can't afford the best stuff' white packaging, too.
|
Budget food has been around forever though. Remember Tesco blue stripe in the 90's? 9 Pence for a 2ltr bottle of Cola.

But I regularly bought 10 bottles for £1.70p :p  |

I don't see the point in them, they're unhealthy and less cost effective than batch cooking. As for the o/p, why would anyone who shops in Asda be more embarrassed by the colour of the packaging? Kidding, I shop there :joker: But anyone who's genuinely short on money shouldn't be whinging about the pigmentation on the outside of the horrible "meal" they're buying. |
Asda are not helping "the poor"
they are exploiting them for profit |
Let them eat cake, I say.
