🎶🎵🎸🥁Eurovision 2024🎷🪇🎵🎶
Given the shenanigans of the 2023 thread, I think it’s best I create this now before we have another **** show.
So, can we expect the host city to be Malmo? |
I think its almost certain going to be Stockholm

am looking forward to Luxembourg, what they have to offer these days
the former powerhouse nation and who else is returning maybe Andorra, Susanna Georgi gives it another attempt Monaco could be likely, with new broadcaster which launches this september Bosnia & Herzegovina, their first artist Fazla is working on their return too |
I would like to see Turkiye give it a shot again.

his opponent said he wants Turkiye back at ESC |

Turkiye not returning then to this stupid gayfest
i love turkish music so much though |
although i wasn't counting on their return lol as they got such shady elections
Monaco though seems quite likely with their return with a new broadcaster Montenegro i hope so too, same goes with North Macedonia and i hope Susanna Georgi has more luck this time around for Andorra's comeback i'd love for Morocco to join us again for a second participation (would be 44 yrs since their debut in 1980) and we do need some arab language representation again tbh, otherwise i'll also be happy about a Qatar debut i hope Romania is staying but opting internal selection this time around, their NF is clearly not working anymore and they do have good artists (many at Cat Music label are fab, i listen to many of that one's releases, very cheesy, summer pop vibes) Greece might go for a national final concept maybe, to give greek public a chance to decide their entry again |
Malmo is confirmed as the host city.
|
great to have an official thread going forward

what we know so far
Luxembourg: national final Cyprus: talent show/reality show selection method of some sort ''big brother'' style Estonia: Eesti Laul 2024 Finland: UMK 2024 Iceland: Songvakeppnin 2024 Ireland: not confirmed yet what selection method but likely Late Late Show NF or a revamped version of it, submissions are open anyway Israel: The Next Star 2024 Italy: likely Sanremo 2024 Malta: Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 Norway: Melodi Grand Prix 2024 Spain: Benidorm Fest 2024 Sweden: Melodifestivalen 2024 Austria: internal selection Switzerland: internal jury selection through songwriting camp ---------- rumours Greece: might consider bringing a national final back Netherlands: a return of the Nationaal Songfestival is mentioned Moldova: not confirmed officially but i guess Etapa Nationala Croatia: likely Dora 2024 Denmark: likely Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024 Portugal: very likely Festival Da Cancao 2024 Poland: probably a national final Czechia: due to recent success with Vesna, We Are Domi, another ESCZ national final? San Marino: could be Una Voce Per San Marino 2024, unless someone with money demands an internal selection Slovenia: i'd say either internal with a big name, or return to the EMA national selection Belgium: its wallonia now, so internal selection with some unknown young rising talent i guess (2025 might be eurosong national final again with flanders i think) Latvia: Supernova 2024 i think Lithuania: Pabandom Is Naujo 2024 very likely Romania: return to internal selection if they are in, also could see them going into a more fun uptempo route again after this years disasters 0 points (which public are mainly to blame for, when they had a uptempo banger in the NF, Perinita Mea who would've done better) France: could be a return to the 2021/2022 national final concept after this years internal flop with La Zarra  Ukraine: Vidbir 2024 from that bunker venue i think Azerbaijan: internal selection, going for something from swedish composers to play it safer i guess Armenia: Depi Evratesil if no big names apply, otherwise internal Georgia: maybe The Voice of Georgia, or internal selection -------- yet to confirm participation countries Albania: very likely with Festival I Kenges Serbia: likely with Pezma Za Evroviziju Germany: i think Unser Lied fur Malmo |
re Switzerland: their songwriting camp is simple
artists can work with composers/producers from all over the world to come up with possible ESC entries, these get judged by a panel usually consisting out of 10 or 12 international jurors whom after closely listening decide whom represents the Swiss at ESC Austria does internals yes, but their HoD usually teases through clues which 3 are shortlisted by an expert jury ---------------- Malta's MESC is a huge competition on its own 4 quarter finals, 2 semi finals and a grand final  and in the final they have lots of guest act intervals as well ---------------- San Marino basically anyone can submit songs there from any country worldwide, as long as you have the funds to participate |
how many countries in ESC2024
i think 40 or 41 could be possible again Monaco: very likely with the new broadcaster launching next month North Macedonia: they have enough funds to keep participating in junior eurovision, and they broadcasted the contest this year too with hopes of returning in 2024 so yeah maybe they're back, hopefully with something in macedonian again and not too westernized Montenegro: they have no huge financial problems, but they want to keep being competitive with a healthy budget, they could easily return with some bigger name like one of the Polumenta's (Sako or Dado or recently debuted new artist Adina) so we'll see as for them Turkiye accepting Sweden into NATO, let this contest be hosted in Sweden, relations between them are very improved as of today what we know, they haven't said anything yet so idk Andorra: Susanna Georgi her plan part 2 of bringing them back, last time she had no luck in doing so, but she keeps trying, and she wants a team up between andorrans and catalonians in terms of sharing each others artists |

lost my interest in this again then
stupid trash AVROTROS broadcaster, lazy idiots :idc: you guys say defund bbc, well i say #DefundNPO |

Quote:
how wrong you are in this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxemb...n_Song_Contest they have won the contest 5 times, and finished 3rd twice as well as many top 10 results with just 3 last place results they launched careers of superstars such as Nana Mouskouri, Vicky Leandros, Anne-Marie David, France Gall they even had Plastic Bertrand representing them back in the day, as well as another huge name in Lara Fabian (in the year of Celine Dion's global breakthrough where Lara finished in a respectable 4th place with Croire) they also had spanish duo Baccara representing them one of their current active singers Luka Kloser whom made this song for the film Moonfall she's the daughter of their 1984 Eurovision presenter Desiree Nosbusch  |
so whoever represents them in 2024, has big boots to fill and must be someone who can handle the nerves of representing such a powerhouse nation back in ESC's Golden Days
|
i want to be in Ireland's committee
one artist suggestion from me Cian Ducrot, to bring us back to the final and a top 5 result potential as well with this vocal superstar |
Belgium's act confirmed
actor and singer Mustii example of his style and live vocals very Hozier alike :clap1: |
|
only 20 participating countries for 2024
