Cigarette-brands (if you happen to still smoke): what you having?
Is smoking the kind of thing you have to do with refined style (Silk Cut) or will Benson and Hedges do you?
|
Benson and hedges gold.
An elite ciggie |
I forgot to include Silk Cut in the poll but yeah. I did used to smoke a bit of that back when I actually smoked tobacco regularly.

when i was a smoker, i started on embassy gold that were 20p for 20
I moved on to lambert and butler, Marlboro and Winston, with the occasional gitanes, and finished with silk cut |
I've cut right down, but i have around 5 Amber Leaf roll ups a day. I really can't stand manufactured fags. Just 1 gives me a headache.
I put lettuce in my baccy pouch to keep it moist. A 50g pouch lasts me 3 weeks or so. |
Mayfair and Sovereign were what we had as kids, and to skin up.
|
I used to smoke Silk Cut and Carrolls (Irish brand) back in the day
Not smoked for years, and it makes me feel ill to think of inhaling smoke into my lungs :fist: |
ex smokers are the worst, i can now smell a cigarette at 100 metres

Bupropion and nortriptyline are two antidepressants that help to moderate the urge to smoke but they’re unlikely to be prescribed just for that (and bupropion’s hard to get in the U.K./under the NHS).
|
I smoked Embassy Number 1
|
I used to smoke Camels and was always excited to go abroad because you could get the original yellow ones, for some reason UK shops only seem to do Camel Blue/Light
I often smoked Lucky Strikes at uni as well. Would sometimes get their click and roll ones before they became illegal. Also liked Marlboro Touch as they were cheaper and I often didn't want a full cigarette anyway Haven't smoked now for over a year though. Never was a prolific smoker, would just have a pack every week or two |

I was a Marlboro Reds kid from 15 - 24 (social only, I've only had one cigarette whilst sober in my life and it was horrible). So the most I've ever smoked is about 2 packs/week in particularly-social early Uni days. At 16 we used to get one pack of 20 between 4 or 5 of us on a Friday night, out the cigarette machine at the pub. Remember cigarette machines?? Also remember when pubs didn't give a **** that you were 16 :joker:.
My dad for all of his smoking life smoked B&H so I stole quite a few of those in my teens - but they were dog rough, that was a last resort. No, I tell a lie. Last resort was my mate's mum's "Club" that came in a blue pack. Actually disgusting IIRC ... they felt "thick and slimey", like smoking cooking oil? https://i.imgur.com/16QqXxi.png Yuck. |

Yes...only crave them if I'm really stressed (which is rare) or have a drink in my hand. Its ridiculously expensive now too.... |

And I only vape CBD (I like to do things in a relatively healthy way) so tobacco-vapes are off the table for me. If I want tobacco, I’d be more inclined to smoke actual cigarettes. And a pack of 20 can last me up to 2 weeks now. I don’t smoke enough anymore to be fussy about brands but when I did it tended to be Silk Cut or Lambert. Or the cheap Polish corner-shop kind, which could be anything (sometimes Richmond).
Nowadays I’m a little cautious and hesitant about smoking in public because you never know which gossiping eyes are watching you. I don’t smoke often now so if I’m spotted by someone who recognises me they might assume the wrong thing but at the end of the day everyone’s doing life for themselves first and foremost. It’s not so much about what other people think. |
I think Richmond was my first cigarette, I used to go out of the house, and into a field and light up, thought I was quite the rebel
|
Still smoking a little, Cherie?
|
I remember being about 13 and writing a note in block capitals that was from my "Grandad" saying he was staying with us as he had broken his leg and could the shopkeeper please sell his granddaughter 20 fags as he was unable to get to the shops. It bloody worked too - that note lasted me till I was almost 16 and received my NI Card in the post that most shops took as ID for being 16!!
