Yes they do not care

[Four Greenpeace activists climbed onto
the roof of Rishi Sunak's home today to
protest against his backing for a
major expansion of North Sea oil
and gas drilling.
The protesters clambered onto the
£2million mansion in Richmond, North Yorkshire,
and draped it in what they described
as 200 sq m (2,150 sq ft) of
'oily-black fabric'.

At the same time, two further activists
on the ground unfurled a banner featuring
the words 'Rishi Sunak - Oil Profits or Our Future?'
across the grass in front of the house.]

The Prime Minister
his wife and 2 kids
are on holiday in California.

Greenpeace knew all this.

JSO were told to stop ‘targeting’ the public, so these guys go and plant themselves on the empty house of top dog in the country, genius, definitely sends a better message

Cherie 03-08-2023 11:29 AM

The invasion of privacy is appalling, go to his place of work, not where his family lives, the only plus side is they are not there, its still not the point

Random people should turn up at their homes and sit in their gardens and on their rooftops see how they like it

Hopefully this sinister stunt will result in a masssive fine for this sneering "charity"

joeysteele 03-08-2023 11:52 AM

This is wrong, just wrong.
No need for this.

Nah, there’s definitely a need for this, protestors have been attacked countless times for protesting ‘the wrong way’ and for aiming their protests at ‘the wrong people’ so now they’ve taken the protest to the door of the person in charge of the country and making the decisions that are going to inevitably harm the environment even more than we already are, they waited until he swanned off on his luxury holiday while the rest of us plebs hold our nerve and struggle at home, they’re doing it the right way

The Slim Reaper 03-08-2023 12:16 PM

It was an empty property, no members of the public were held up, and it targeted a guy with the power of the state behind him, and people still aren't happy?

I guess the kind of protest people are willing to accept in this country, is a single person with a sandwich board, walking in silence.

Cherie 03-08-2023 12:22 PM

Exactly what have their protests achieved and what are the solutions to replacing oil, because electric batteries sure ain't one

Crimson Dynamo 03-08-2023 12:23 PM

Posting a video message from the roof today, Ms Wilson said: 'We're all here
because Rishi Sunak has opened the door to a new drilling frenzy in the North
Sea while large parts of our world are literally on fire. This will be a
disaster for the climate.'

Extremism is saying they should be shot. Whereas protest used to be part of our rights as citizens.

there is no right to breaking into someone's garden and damaging property by stomping all over their roof

There is no right to endangering the PM's young children by exposing his home to the world's media and any nutcases watching

Have you forgotten about Jo Cox and David Amess amid your hatred of Sunak?

They’d have been ‘extremists’ if they knocked the place down, sitting on a roof with some banners isn’t extreme :joker:

They sent a message directly to the leader of the country, which is what people have been urging JSO to do, it might seem like it’s not at all about the way people protest, the anger is that people are protesting about this at all

There was no right for the suffragettes to use bombs and suicide themselves under the kings horse, but they got their point across and were also extremely unpopular for a time. I didn't realise they posted his address.

Why would I hate Sunak?

Yes, I would love to see politicians like Sunak go to prison for allowing their friends and family to personally profit off of the back of the nation suffering from their rank political choices

Zizu 03-08-2023 01:32 PM

Sooooo if these protesters who sit in roads and block traffic … one day stop someone rushing to hospital.. and they die .

Then surely that’s manslaughter or murder or something ?

No.

It might be some kind of offence in relation to interfering with an official trying to do their duty or something, but no, it isn't murder or manslaughter.

A Ex Police Detective stated
a bomb could have been hidden there,
then when they all return
Some place near that Mansion, in a car
or van, a Terrorist could make a Phone call to set
the bomb off.

Then Dead PM and family

They could well have alien technology with which to vaporise the lovely Mr Rishi. What about if they have surface to air missiles? They could shoot him out of the sky. If they got hold of plutonium, and developed bomb making skills, they could dirty nuke bomb downing st.

Just thinking about all the things which were never going to happen is really hitting home about how scary these people are.

I wouldn't myself immaterial of my profession expect to have anyone in my grounds or anywhere on my home without my permission.

By all means target constituency offices of MPs or where they may be when they're on a public work related duty.

I believe in protests, I've been on them at times.
This government has admittedly shockingly made protesting weaker and as ineffective as possible.
However that has nothing to do with private homes of any families.
Which the Sunak's are.
A family, they're home too should be out of bounds to anyone NOT invited to it.

It's one of his empty properties, which in times of massive wealth inequality should be the story. Not people protecting and fighting for the wealthy against their own interests imo.

It reeks of arrogance, putting social media likes above common sense, above decency and above safety. Trying to "one up" JSO.

We believe we are so right we can do anything

Same mindset as a suicide bomber imo

Thankfully it been widely condemned by every level-headed adult in the land

bots 03-08-2023 05:32 PM

Sunak has young kids that could easily be traumatised by this, even if they were not there. They very probably no longer feel safe

Totally agree….it’s his private property.
