Historic racist tweets from Trish
 

I'm kinda reluctant to post this but seriously even though these are mostly a decade ago they're pretty disgusting and disappointing. Appreciate she wouldn't still think this but she was in her 20s when she made these tweets. I'm surprised BB didn't realise and she still made the show

Edit - I won't post them all but there are numerous tweets that have been revealed now which are disparaging to various different communities. We're talking dozens of tweets here across many years

Digging up decade-old tweets is almost always more cringey and embarrassing than the tweets themselves.

That said, people have been getting "cancelled" over that sort of thing for people entering the public eye to have some basic opsec, to the point where it's her own fault.

I don't necessarily disagree, I read it elsewhere and really wasn't sure whether to repost it but did so because:

- it'll probably blow up a bit now it's out there
- people have been ejected from the show for historic tweets
- it shows BB didn't really comb housemates social media properly
- even though they're old she should still take accountability for it

it puts into context the number of times she cried racism toward her during the show

I am shocked never expected that, guess her account was hacked back then that's the usual excuse.

Surely BB check all social media accounts prior these days? I am shocked they were not found whilst she was on the show.

Very unfortunate, but not surprising. People who cling hard to anti-Racist dogma as an explanation for society's ills are the first to perpetuate their ideals towards other races and cultures. (Basically they're not anti- at all...just indoctrinated)

I agree with Oliver, that she should not be ostracized for it and it's her human right to share controversial views. But again, a reminder we should never post things we would never want to be recirculated in the future. ANd also that Twitter is still a cesspool even if it's been renamed. And also, there's no such as privacy online.

The first one is recent enough to be relevant. I'd say the others are just really bad decisions in the past, but because of the first, it's now all in question... anyway, it's not that much of a shock to me.

I believe she has developed a new understanding of Chinese culture and people due to Yinrun which is good, but yeah if the posts are true then eek. Surely if you’re going on TV you’d delete your old tweets like that? (Can you do that? I don’t have twitter)

Also surprises me these came out a day after she’s evicted. You’d think whoever brought these to the attention would have done a few days ago to ruin her chances.

When it comes to twitter maybe she's a "fire and forget" type. Even if she changed over the years and no longer thinks that way, you'd thihk she'd prune her old tweets.

She's too intelligent and there's been too many recent consequences for her not to know they'd come to light. Which makes me think, unfortunately, that she may still not see the problem with them:(

I am extremely disappointed in Trish. It's a shame some of the people condemning her haven't been condemning all racism during the entirety of the series.

Yeah. It's a real shame honestly because she was a great housemate and a lot of what she had to say about racism was legitimate and interesting to hear. These tweets don't invalidate that but a lot of people will think she's totally discredited now

People should get a life tbh.

Even housemates or celebs in general I don't like, it wouldn't occur to me to go digging through their past socials.

Locking down her account, probably to delete the tweets is an admission of guilt

Interesting people felt the need to do it with Trish :whistle: , I'm glad now she got evicted when she did . As clearly there was a hate campaign against her . So atleast she left to cheers .

If we go digging through other people's socials ,who knows what we'd find. I know for a fact if this was Olivia ... people would be making excuses for her .

When certain people already dislike a HM ,then it makes it easy for them to show outrage and all of a sudden act like they themselves have a moral high ground.

….it’s very disappointing because those words are so jarring with the person we saw in the house….obviously, Farida will have her own thoughts in the tweets and about Trish ….but I felt Yinrun held her as someone she admired, so she’ll obviously have her own thoughts also…and I really donhope that they both take time together to talk about it….

…I won’t say anymore atm because (…as the forum is aware…)…I’ve had the experience in the past of having an account made on Twitter, using my name and profile pic etc for the specific reasons of posting abusive stuff…I’m sure Trish/Twitter-gate will unfold in the up and coming…and hopefully we’ll know if the account is verified as real or not so much….
