Matty’s eviction the most brutal ever?

Thoughts?

Kate! 16-11-2023 08:47 PM

It was cruel. Fascinating to watch though. I really felt for him. He's been robbed of his moment.

Bronzo 16-11-2023 08:47 PM

Nah I’d say there were worse

Danielle’s in BB15 was pretty bad, where she survived a public vote, but they sent in three random lees as new housemates who had watched the show and could walk in and just evict a housemate of their choice

Or the 4 in 4 out whatever season that was

Vanessa 16-11-2023 08:48 PM

Savage.
At least he will get his interview tonight.

Lostie! 16-11-2023 08:48 PM

I haven't even been watching for over a week but I had to tune in just to see this. The production of this series has been a bit all over the place but that was brilliantly executed. Right down to them dimming the lights as soon as Yinrun said "your time is up".

ChalkOutlineMan 16-11-2023 08:48 PM

Yeah it was great.

Beastie 16-11-2023 08:49 PM

I think the other 5 would have been more upset if it was them.

Tony Montana 16-11-2023 08:51 PM

It's up there for sure.

I'd say Danielle and Marlon from BB15 were worse as they weren't even evicted by the public.

Argey 16-11-2023 09:08 PM

I found it so awful I've tuned out and shan't be watching the rest. Maybe it's my age (76) but it really upset me - he's such a gentle soul to have been so ill treated.

The general consensus is that the producers had pre-warned him worrying about his mental wellbeing

i thought it was brilliant, watching everyones reactions was priceless

rusticgal 16-11-2023 09:19 PM

Brutal….I really felt for him but he handled it so well.

Thank you for that, I feel a better now but still upset for Yinrun. x

It worked out well all round .. I’d imagine Matty would have told Yinrun that he’d been told prior to the letter reading just to make her feel better

Matty came across with massive personality in his interview, so yeah, it’s very clear that editing hasn’t been in his favour. Will is by far the superior presenter, which definitely helped make this interview work.

chris.g 16-11-2023 09:59 PM

Brutal but executed brilliantly - having the letter written from Big Brother was a stroke of genius!

Mystic Mock 16-11-2023 11:05 PM

Well Stuart from BB5 was evicted during a party, and being told in the Diary Room no less.

Doesn't that kind of ruin the twist though?

If Matty is so mentally unwell then the Show shouldn't have cast him imo.

Oh yeah Danielle & Marlon were rigged out of the Show through the same twist.

Withano 16-11-2023 11:14 PM

Honestly yeh. It was borderline cruel.

The eviction itself was brutal but the most brutal part was that they wrote a whole letter he thought was from his family before revealing it was from Big Brother and it was actually an eviction notice. And the fact they made Yinrun read it out and deliver the news.

Maru 17-11-2023 01:05 AM

Housemates were saying on LF they think he knew, so couldn't have been that brutal. It was dramatic, that's for sure.

TheFMHatter1986 17-11-2023 01:20 AM

I think when the music came on then it was sad and Matty did say it was savage but he knew he wanted to come out

GoldHeart 17-11-2023 01:32 AM

You could see the shock when the lights went down ,and Yinrun read it out . I'm just glad Matty got to say goodbye first. I had visions of him just being called to the dr and having to leave that way. Which BB have done in the past, with no goodbyes which is worse imo . I know it's nearly the final But still atleast this way there was still closure.

I don't think he knew ... well not fully anyway , i think he was just ready to go ... as he was having a down day.

I thought the letter was still from Matty's loved ones? , but that BB just added their bit about him leaving at the end? .

Who ever came up with that letter to eviction transition needs a raise! I’ve need seen a twist like that since The Sixth Sense

Loved it. Brutally brilliant.

bitontheslide 17-11-2023 04:14 AM

James has a thread with the a video segment of the eviction, and Matty's entire letter was written by BB,
"I have been watching you from the first moment you arrived, i've even watched you sleeping"

Ammi 17-11-2023 06:37 AM

Matty - the most shocking eviction ever?….

…do you think…?…was it too brutal/the most evil BB that we’ve ever seen…or was it just the right brutal etc…?..

AnnieK 17-11-2023 06:40 AM

It was brutal but brilliant.

He will be remembered for it far more than a normal eviction. If I was going to be evicted minutes before the finalists were announced, I'd want an eviction like that one  (once I'd got over the shock of it)

…his eviction is forever going to be iconic and a shock that’s going to be an aim to reach for any others similar..?…that’s pretty amazing and for some of the series, he’s been seen more as ‘background’, you know…I think he’s going to be perfectly happy with it all……

bitontheslide 17-11-2023 06:46 AM

it was just so classy. When you listen to the words of the letter, it's obviously been written from big brothers perspective .... it's so evil

…let’s be honest, though…would we felt so much that it was deliciously evil had it been Noky…(…for you…)…or Yinrun…(…the one true queen…)…

Ammi 17-11-2023 06:56 AM

…oh, I didn’t see this…my thread from earlier can be merged with this one…

…thank you, thank you……

i would have been at the house threatening bodily harm to BB if it had happened to Noky
