[Houthi Red Sea attacks hurting Israel and
disrupting global trade?
The Houthis attack ships in one of the busiest maritime
routes as they demand Israel to end
its brutal war in Gaza.]

[Some of the largest shipping companies
in the world have been forced to reroute their
vessels at considerable costs

after Yemen’s Houthi group targeted ships
headed towards Israeli ports in solidarity
with Palestinians.

The Iran-aligned group has demanded
that Israel allow humanitarian aid
to enter Gaza, which has been reeling from
more than two months of Israeli siege
and bombardment. The Yemeni group
has also called on Israel to end its brutal
war on Gaza that has killed over
19,000 Palestinians]

Yes many are saying
a 2nd Air Fighter group
from USA and UK will attack again
tonight or tomorrow.

In USA
Biden did not have time to
take this to Congress.

In the UK
PM Sunak is going to Parliament on Monday.

Sunak should have waited for Parliament to vote. Like Italy is doing.

Sunak pre briefed the labour party and the speaker of the house and they agreed with the proposed action, so he got permission

So, do people really accept the alternative? Allow innocent ships to be blown up? Do people understand what effect that will have on the worlds economy?

Indeed, remember what happened when that freighter captain did a bad 3-point turn in the Suez. Months of chaos.

I really fail to see how Western nations taking action AGAIN in the Middle East.
Will in any way ease tensions further and is more likely even to escalate more violent unrest.

Livia 12-01-2024 03:27 PM

The Straight of Hormuz has been dangerous for decades. It's the busiest straight in the world, something like 25-30% of the world's oil passes through it. If terrorists are allowed to control it, well... those who think it has nothing to do with us would learn a swift lesson.

The USA/UK attacks are only military hits
in Yemen, the Terrorists are in control of some land
next to the water,
that's what they hit.

The Terrorists (Houthis) say 5 are dead.

Normally I'd agree Joey but the Suez makes the Red Sea pretty much the most significant stretch of water there is, by quite some way, and "keeping it moving" is genuinely of global significance. Its one of the few examples where I's say a "zero tolerance" approach is pretty much essential.

So long as they're only targetting the attacking bases and vessels I think it has to be done. Of course, I'm not here for it if they decide that "boats are being hidden under schools" or whatever.

Ninastar 12-01-2024 03:39 PM

I heard there was tunnels in the boats

bots 12-01-2024 03:42 PM

The terrorists escalated tensions in the middle east by targeting any ship in the area. No doubt the same people saying leave the terrorists alone, will be moaning at the government as fuel prices and inflation go through the roof again

So what does the actual government in Yemen think about this

arista 12-01-2024 05:13 PM

Conservative and Labour
agreed.

Only Sad SNP and Pathetic LibDems
wanted Parliament to approve it.

Parliament today was closed

arista 13-01-2024 02:35 AM
