joeysteele 02-01-2024 11:21 AM

Thank all powers that be for that.

Denver 02-01-2024 11:26 AM

Steve Cooper is the man most likely to replace him

Why drop down to a struggling championship side .. when he’s favourite to take over at Palace

Different circumstances completely..

It’s feasible of course but he’s apparently Palace’s first choice soooooo

not every player got what it takes to become a great manager tbh

i mean look at our Pancake i mean Van Basten :fan: or Gullit

Rooney sinking to new lows getting sacked from Birmingham, even worse than his sacking at DC United :hehe:

Britain loves losers. He'll get another job before you know it.

I think it’s more a case of we love building people up .. like this darts lad Luke Littler then he will be dismantled at the very first opportunity

Maybe he’ll refuse to sign his autograph for an old woman or something equally as bizarre

Very few of the noughties/2010s players seem to be able to make the transition to management very well

A good player doesn’t always transform to a good manager….

Alf 02-01-2024 07:35 PM

He's 38. He wants to get his boots out and play again.

Why did he retire ??

Too much money and basic laziness ?

Messi is still playing and says he aiming to play in the next world cup

It was inevitable. He’s had a shocking time at Birmingham, hopefully the blues can salvage something during the remainder of the season.

I'd hope so but for anyone to now turn around the colossal damage Rooney has, is going to be very hard.

I'll hope but things look very bleak.

Unfortunately being a brilliant player doesn't always equal being a brilliant Manager.

i mean Danny Buijs also had a rough start as a manager, but currently he's doing a good job at Fortuna Sittard

despite flops at FC Groningen and KV Oostende

same with current PSV coach Peter Bosz, the one who doesn't win anything, flopped at leverkusen, lyon, did mediocre at ajax and was disliked at feyenoord, now currently undefeated only one of entire europe :D

Rooney will need to learn from his mistakes in particular with us and DC United if he is to become like any of those Managers that you've listed.

And hopefully he will.

We're getting back to how we were at the start of the season.

I mean I have no doubt that we'll lose this weekend to Leicester in the FA Cup, but I have more confidence that Mowbray will get the team to bounce back.
