Police investigate Angela Rayner over her house sale

Yes she was registered to vote
in her up North Home
but lived in her London home.

She was just live on GMBHD itv
saying she has done nothing wrong.

BBC1 AM would not show that clip
as they did not want to get people channel hopping

[Greater Manchester Police is reassessing
its decision not to investigate claims
Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner
gave false information on official documents.

It followed a complaint from a Conservative MP.

Ms Rayner has denied any wrongdoing
relating to where she was registered
as living after her marriage in 2010.

Tory MP James Daly had asked police
to investigate whether she had given
false information or broken electoral rules.

Earlier this month, the police said
they had found no evidence any
offence had been committed.

However, in a statement a spokesperson
for Greater Manchester Police said:
"We have received a complaint regarding
our decision not to investigate an allegation
and are in the process of
reassessing this decision.

"The complainant will be updated
with the outcome of the reassessment
in due course."]

Fess up Raynor

Whatever the outcome here.
If anyone has done wrong it should be exposed.

However the police are NOT at this time investigating Raynor.

Due to pressure from political enemies, they are only re- assessing their own decision before to NOT investigate her.
They may well reach the same conclusion they did before.

arista 28-03-2024 08:33 AM

[However the police are.]

Sure, soon they can change that
position.

And it can go on this thread

Someone who is not very nice doesn't automatically become a criminal. It seems to me that many public "servants" are guilty of fraud in one way or another. They have just been getting away with it for so long, they think it's acceptable

She always blinks.

I've met her many times.
She always blinks no matter the conversation.

Along with likely millions of other people.

The police felt she'd done nothing wrong before.
I'll wait and see what they do now.
Before I'd join the hard line Con campaign against her.
Even before the police decision again.

An irreverence? Really?

The police looked at this and saw nothing to act on.

The Con MP has complained again.
So as in any complaint, the police are looking at their decision not to investigate her.
As they'd need to do.

However at this time she is not being investigated by the police
Unlike Zahawi who was.

If they decide to investigate her, IF, since they saw nothing before to do so.

Then that's fine.
At present this just looks more like a witch hunt.
I'm no Raynor fan.
However I actually think it very possible the police will see nothing that's criminal again to investigate here.

Even if the police decide to go forward with it, it still has to get the stamp of approval from the CPS, it's not like a spot fine during covid times

oh I see, yeah it will be a bit odd if they overturn the original decision, though from what I have read I think there was something dodgy going on

Oh it's possible, the world of politics sadly is full of odd cover ups and wrongdoing.

The Cons seem rather obsessed with Raynor however, in extreme ways.
Some admiring others fearing her style in politics.

Conservative Lord Michael Ashcroft has written a book which he calls an unauthorised biography of Raynor.
Titled ' The Red Queen'.

I said ‘ irrelevance’ as I really don’t like her …

One of my favourite Rayner snippets :

Her childhood, she has said, was “full of fear”. She was a carer for her bi-polar mother, who would accidentally give her dog food or shaving foam to eat because she could not read the labels on the tins. Rayner has spoken about pestering friends to let her eat at their houses on Sundays or she would not be fed.

That’s a reason you don’t like her?

Another Rayner track from her Best Of album

::

Getting down to business, Rayner tried a gotcha. ‘What is the average hourly rate of care-workers in this country?’ Easy for Boris. He trumpeted the virtues of the Tories’ national living wage. Rayner claimed this as a win. Hardly. She has two faults as an inquisitor. Her estimate of her own powers is exaggerated. And she can’t improvise new arguments if her pre-jotted questions become irrelevant. Boris was well prepared today and he gave long, meticulously detailed answers. Her dismay was palpable. ‘Oh. Has he finished?’ she said, after the PM had briefed the house about Britain’s top position in the European league of Covid-testing.

The session turned into pure Alice in Wonderland. Rayner accused Boris of breaking promises which he’d plainly kept. She said he hadn’t got a winter action plan. He’d just announced a winter action plan. She said that 62,000 people were being tested daily. He’d said that 240,000 were being tested daily. She asked him to deliver a funding package for care-homes. He’d just mentioned a Ł600 million care-home package. When she brought up birthing women who miss their husbands, he said, ‘I perfectly understand the point she makes. And she’s entirely right.’

How to find fault there? ‘I’ll take that as a yes,’ she said sniffily. Boris clearly enjoyed being pelted with Rayner’s fluffy cushions . And his pleasure ought to have bothered her enormously. But it didn’t. After her sixth question, she sat down while Boris delivered a rhapsodic tribute to the resilience and good sense of the British people. She studied him throughout
with shiny-eyed interest, smirking mysteriously and occasionally licking her lips. It was extraordinary. Her gaze deserved its own Oscar-winning sound-track – swelling violins, throbbing drums, a heavenly solo from a silver trumpet.
