SONG 1...I should mark down cause theres 2 voices, and it's not the most powerful of vocals. But I do like rem, and his voice. So you get a nine.

SONG 2..sorry, I cant stand it..7

SONG 3..you went for theme over vocals, it's another 7

SONG 4..A bit of a let down tbh, if you are doing Freddie mercury, you should have saved him for another round and a better song...7

SONG 5.... I'm not even going there...5

SONG 6..this is what you should all be striving for in a vocal contest. 10.

ok, this was one that I was conflicted with but it’s a solid song from REM so 7/10…

Mariah is always a good vocal and this is no exception so 7/10…

this is a theme song for ‘friendships’ and possibly the most well known one so a very deserving 7/0….

Its Queen, it’s Freddie, it’s Fabulous and it’s Friendship…especially on those karaoke nights 8/10…

Song 5

I loved this, I hadn’t heard it before so thank you to whoever for introducing it…summer friendships, nostalgia, sunshine and joy…it had it all 9/10…

Song 6

Bill Withers, always a reliable vocal and another deserving 7/10…

Oh a great start. I was going to choose The Rembrandts but I thought that would’ve been an obvious choice so I decided to go with the song that was originally going to be used for the Friends intro theme.

I had so many songs I wanted to use. It was hard to choose.
But I've always loved Mariah voice. I think she's brilliant.

Round 2 theme is Colours.

Yh there’s lots of articles about it. REM didn’t give them the rights to use the song so we got The Rembrandts instead. There was a video of the original opening theme with the REM song and different titles of the show on YouTube somewhere. Not sure if it’s still about tho?

…Michael Stripe didn’t give the rights because he didn’t see the ‘fit’ with the vibe of the series as it was a serious political song…the lyrics were more ironic of those ‘shiny happy people’ that were seen in propaganda posters…depicting something that wasn’t a reality of lives …REM lyrics/songs do tend to often be quite political in meaning and quite deep….I think the catchiness on the tune of Shiny Happy People was more meant as an ironic contrast…?..but that’s the very thing that made it so popular, wasn’t it…so there was an irony…:laugh:…I wounder if Michael Stripe ever regretted his decision with the multiple million dollars earned in Royalties of the Friends theme tune….

I absolutely love it. Was obsessed with Friends back in the day and this song has a lovely lovely 90s feel to it so to see them go together like this is great

Vanessa. Oh that was right good, took me right back to the heartbreak and sadness of a love so young. It just has to be a 10.

Barry. Prince was a hard act to follow, sorry but the beat and rhythm of the song is too overpowering for the vocals to glow. 7

Kate. Crisp and clear, not to shabby for a tired old copper. 9

Cherie. Never heard this before, old ginger top does it justice and can rightfully stand alongside the original..10

Dogeatdog. Sounds too electric to be his natural voice..so I'm going to be mean..5

Strictly Jake. Nice voice, a bit generic though, and didn't appeal to me all the way through the song. 8
