Your views so far on Thomas

I found it interesting Ryan said he would have nominated Thomas. What are your views on Thomas so far?

GoldGlitter 12-10-2024 10:43 AM

I saw a clip on FB saying he was rooting for Izaaz and Marcello. Did he give a reason why he would nominate Thomas.

jones89 12-10-2024 10:44 AM

He seems like a nice, regular lad tbh.. i wanna see more

Liam- 12-10-2024 10:46 AM

He’s a bit of a drip

Kate! 12-10-2024 10:48 AM

He's pleasant. Likeable. Not setting the world on fire though. He'll need to do more to be a contender maybe?

Crimson Dynamo 12-10-2024 11:12 AM

not for me so far

He may not set the world on fire, but the psychopath for whom he expressed fondness very well might. After all, he caused the dimwitted rabble (that favours him for the coming US election) to storm the capitol by inciting violence and encouraging the thugs to assassinate the vice president, Pence, whom he denounced a traitor for no reason other than that Pence did his duty, which was to Trump's deteriment. In his name the office of the elderly female speaker of the house was demolished .
The man is, of course, the despicable Donald Trump, a liar, a misogynist, a grossly incompetent businesman who is squandering his father's legacy and someone whose lack of intelligence limits him to expressing himself in 3 or 4-;etter words drawn from a vocabulary no bigger than that of the rapidly evolving simians of Africa and smaller than that of a dolphin.
Housemate Donald's grasp of geopolitics is as poor as Nathan's grasp of the political milieu in the UK.

joeysteele 12-10-2024 11:46 AM

He's one I like.
I like his attitude most of the time.

rusticgal 12-10-2024 11:46 AM

Not really seen much to judge him on...he is very much in the background.

Lostie! 12-10-2024 11:51 AM

He's... fine.

Barry. 12-10-2024 11:58 AM

Thomas is okay I guess. He’s just there basically

Not much to him thus far. He's not introverted but his interactions with the other HMs aren't considered worthy of making the HL show edit.

Cherie 12-10-2024 12:14 PM

Not sure about him yet, he hasn't shown any side to himself apart from being good at football

Maru 12-10-2024 07:29 PM

I don't remember who Thomas is... Isaaz I now will remember because I read he was going to use his prize for his sons future. I thought that was Ryan's. Melted.

Yep that’s how I feel. He’s barely been in the highlights long enough to even try and judge him.

Crimson Dynamo 12-10-2024 07:36 PM

Without being nasty he is more in there because of his disability than his personality

That is the problem with dei picks I'm afraid

Not a fan tbh, but it’s still early days

GoldHeart 12-10-2024 08:06 PM

He was invisible last night, I only just caught up today on the eviction and everything...and all I remember is him saying he thinks it would be funny if Trump was president again or something.

Mystic Mock 12-10-2024 08:44 PM

I don't like what I've seen of him so far.

I think that I would've liked his honest reasons for wanting Trump to be President, but he decided to do an Anthony Gordon and play the clown with the "I find him hilarious" routine.

Because yes, people want leaders based on how funny they are.

Also he was incredibly desperate to avoid that first vote, far more than I think that I would personally be.

Yeah and he didn't immediately own up to it either. I have more respect for someone like Nathan who at least stands by his controversial political opinions.

His views are mainstream

It's oh my daze with the unpopular extremist views

smudgie 12-10-2024 09:00 PM

Not that impressed so far.

I think Jordan is trying to say that he respects Nathan's honesty, despite not agreeing with his views.

Not if Nathan's views are the majority or not.

GoldHeart 12-10-2024 09:35 PM

Just watch Thomas coast to the final week, like last year's Tom  . It will be another under the radar situation.

Mrluvaluva 12-10-2024 11:22 PM

I'm not finding much depth to him currently. He's ok but he's a bit vanilla. He's obviously not doing much as he hardly appears in the HL shows. There's so many other characters that overshadow him. They must have picked him to be a HM for some reason but I haven't a clue why. Let's put it this way, I wouldn’t be sorry to see him go.

As LT has said, Thomas ticks a disability diversity box.

That's why BB has put him on the Show, just to be blunt about it.

I hope not. I know we've seen these traits in the past but I would like to think people can see past physical disabilities and into the person instead. I know it doesn't really happen in society that much. It's not even a disability for him from what I've seen. He manages his day to day tasks really well. Being born without a left hand and foot has shown it isn't a problem for him and he hasn't needed to adapt as that's the way he's always been. Maybe I just see things differently? I know they like a diverse mix of HM's but I would be horrified to know they picked me just because I had different physical attributes to the "norm".

I'm struggling to think of anything else though. Like it's the token person with "disabilities". The trans person. The neurodivergent. The extrovert. The introvert. I guess things haven't changed that much when I think about it.

I'm like you in the sense that I hope that I'm wrong about why Thomas was cast.

It's just that so far he hasn't exactly displayed loads of charisma, so I am curious as to why he was cast for the Show.

Beso 13-10-2024 07:08 AM

Livelier than Izaaz, and hes got 2 feet.

I agree as they want to be inclusive ,plus he's young . BB was focusing on adding so many youngsters...they didn't bother to care if any of them will be good viewing.

Unless Thomas will come out his shell more in the next few weeks, like I said ...he has final week coaster written all over him. He'll probably never be up for eviction ,and
he'll probably slip under the radar.

That's why we needed Ryan to stay as he was going to nominate Thomas.

fredmeneedle 13-10-2024 09:45 PM

He's a child with most likely only a superficial interest in politics at home let alone in the US..... don't castigate him for a a throwaway opinion that he put little thought into.... he is doing the "staying under the parapet/radar" technique that has worked very well for many housemates in the past

rusticgal 13-10-2024 09:54 PM

Well he ran out the door promptly when the discussion was taking place between Khalid and Isazz..

GlitterUK 13-10-2024 10:44 PM

I have noticed that he seems to shy away from any arguments and I am a fan of him. I also don't see all the banter Ryan commented on. I think he is being edited to look dull as that suits BB at present.

Trump supporters in general are not normally casual in their opinions about him.

I get on with a few of them on the Internet, and they all love him.

Ray. 13-10-2024 11:33 PM

That's quite the large sample size, Mock.

Trump has the largest fanbase in American Politics currently.

I'm on about in terms of how many people actually love him, because the Democrat candidates at the moment are mostly getting their votes from people that despise Trump, rather than people loving Hilary, Biden, or Harris.
