Would you want anyone banned from your funeral?

Don't think so

Kate! 20-11-2024 12:00 PM

Oh don't get me started. Lol. I'd only want a couple of people there.

joeysteele 20-11-2024 12:04 PM

Yes, definitely.
Even some family.

UserSince2005 20-11-2024 12:13 PM

Yeah kier starmer ain’t coming

Ammi 20-11-2024 12:25 PM

…no, never… I can’t imagine if I would want someone banned, that they would be coming anyway/that they would want to……the thought of holding any negative feelings toward anyone into death/…or even through life…feels quite alien to me…

no

Beso 20-11-2024 12:41 PM

The more the merrier.

GoldHeart 20-11-2024 12:47 PM

Well considering I'd be dead , doesn't really matter does it . Whoever is arranging it ...will be the one dealing with that.

But I would question why someone would come to my funeral,if they didn't like me & vice versa. But then it's a funeral...and people are there to pay their respects:shrug:. So you could argue... as long as they behave themselves, and don't cause trouble then so on.

It's not exactly the same as having a guest list at a wedding, usually funerals... unless it's a very private small ...close family gathering,is usually open to most people to attend anyway .

This really.

Don't care, I'll be dead

When I die it will be a state funeral, so it's not right to ban anyone.

Maru 20-11-2024 03:30 PM

Not if I can bury them with me...

(It's a joke haha)

In all seriousness, the idea of doing that to anyone is cruel. People are emotional as it is around that time and come up with crazy **** when they are in grief, so the last thing I would want is to see people being bullied on my behalf. I would expect family to be respectful to anyone who attends  but we're low drama people ...I'd laugh though if people showed up to protest at my funeral. "Dig her up! Dig her up!" ...

Gusto Brunt 20-11-2024 03:42 PM

I won't be there so I couldn't care less. :p

smudgie 29-11-2024 10:36 PM

No funeral for me.
Just a big party at home once I am cremated.

rusticgal 29-11-2024 11:23 PM

Well there would have been…but they died first

That's what most anyone I know does now.

Livia 04-12-2024 08:16 PM

There are a few people I'd definitely want with me... While I'm buried at sea.

I’m not really a cold person….but when one person single handedly destroys the dynamics of your family I can be unforgiving.

Redway 05-12-2024 12:03 AM

The people I’d add to the list would probably have t’sense not to show up anyway. They know I’ll always hate them.

Ray. 05-12-2024 12:06 AM

I don't think I'd need to. I don't think many would come anyway.

…that’s so sad that, that someone with that kind of negative impact has been a part of your life……I’m so sorry that’s been something you’ve experienced…

…my ‘life song’, which will be played at my funeral has the lyric line…’And you leave 'em laughing when you go…’…and your words made me think of that line…I’d be there waiting for the laugh because that’s gloriously you……but if you didn’t leave us laughing then I would hunt you down into the after-life, don’t think I wouldn’t….

Totally empathise with you here. My former sister in law destroyed my immediate family as well. She's dead now. I was in shock but I can't honestly say I overly grieved for her at all.

it was my sister in law too....she was my age and died young tragically BUT I could never forgive her for the heartache she caused.

The exact same. Claire died young too, making my brother a widower. He turned on his family because of her and I want nothing to do him again.

Well my sister in law passed away nearly 4 years ago 3 months after my mum passed away...then when my dad passed away over a year ago we met up at the weekends usually just the 3 of us, me and my 2 brothers, to clear out their property and we naturally bonded again..looking at old family photos etc...having dinner together and re-igniting our banter...it was lovely.

This may sound harsh, but I really don't care. My sister in law is still alive, I wish she wasn't.

Sounds like the three of us have things in common.

Seems so. I don't know about you and Rusty but my brother is a great guy, loyal, funny, hard working, not a drinker a womaniser or a gambler or anything like that.... and he ended up with her. If I thought I could get away with it, I'd kill her with my bare hands.
