Jet setting Tibbers. I envy you.

We've got Cherie who jets off to Spain on a regular basis, Kazanne going to Fuerteventura and Benjamin spending New Year in Tenerife!

Plus others who I can't exactly recall atm but I know some jet off pretty often.

I totally don't have any confidence to fly, it scares me too much.

Take the train over to Europe. Super easy.

I fly every year and I'm still scared. Luckily it's only a couple of hours flight.

You can do a tour? I’ve done a couple in Africa as you are with the same group of people for a few days to a couple of weeks friending on your tour length.

Yes that's certainly something I'm strongly considering, Going with a travel tour group, Also staying in hostels is a great way to meet new people and make friends

Yeah. And trains are still technically less safe than planes.

Not as of right now. Hoping for 2025. It’s been a really rough year for all of us and if I can get a better position in my job I’ll be able to visit for sure

…this job sounds as though it’s a really good fit for you so hopefully spending time now in focusing and building on it will help make that reunion happen for all of you…and I know it’s been a tough year for you……but you will get that family reunion……

Hi Kev. I've travelled on my own quite a bit. I've worked abroad but also travelled for fun. The best thing is that there is no one else to please and you can just suit yourself. Confidence is a strange thing... we all think we're being judged all the time when in actual fact most people are far ore interested in what's happening to them. Maybe you could visit places in this country that you haven't been to? So much to see right on your doorstep.

Hi Livia, Thank you for your advice and encouragement, Appreciated, That's very true, I lived over in England back in my early 20s and did a house share with a group of lads and it worked out well, I was in Manchester but would like to try somewhere different and experience a new place now, I've heard london itself is very expensive but maybe I might do somewhere in commuting distance of it?

I didn't notice you were in Cork. Some beautiful places in Ireland to visit, I know.

Yes, London - my hometown, although I live in Norfolk now - is really expensive but you can find cheaper accommodation if you go a but further out. Anywhere inside the M25 is reasonably well set-up for transport. And there are lots of places to visit and things to do that won't cost a fortune. I think you can fly to London City Airport from Cork, I'm reasonably sure. I know the flight from London City to Dublin takes less than an hour. Hope you decide to give it a go.

Thanks for that Livia, Cork actually has direct flights to Stansted Heathrow and Luton and only takes about an hour so it's quite handy that way, I'm definitely going to go for it in the new year

Great that you are enjoying London Vanessa, Regarding Cork it is quite a nice place and a lot of people who visit say they prefer it than Dublin not to mention It is far cheaper, I am not from the city myself, I live in the middle of nowhere around an hour away. I would definitely recommend visiting anyway

…it’s funny how quite often, if we live in the middle of nowhere…?…we can long for a more social city/town etc life…to have that activity and buzz…?…but then for some who have that, they can long for middle of nowhere life……to have that away from it all/quiet place….we humans are strange old creatures…wishing you well on your travelling adventures next year, Kev…small steps will lead to big steps or hopefully wherever you want them to lead…

I should have been at the airport now about to board for a once in a lifetime trip to Lapland for a few nights with my family.

Instead I’m at home poorly after spending my weekend and probably next few days in bed with the flu. I’m absolutely heartbroken. Not ashamed to say I’ve sobbed my heart out basically all day. It would have been my first holiday abroad in about 17 years. Utterly gutted.

We booked it back in January and my whole year has basically been leading up to this - I’ve always wanted to go and now it’s been snatched from me at the last minute. Don’t know if I’ll be able to get any money back either and it wasn’t cheap.

….awwwww….I’m so, so sorry, LaLa….…there are no other words really that I can say that would ease that disappointment in any way or anything that you’re feeling right now….maybe you will get your money back and that would be something in planning a ‘dream’ trip somewhere else next year when you’re feeling up to it and are able to fully enjoy it…Lapland right now with how you’re feeling…just wouldn’t have that magic that you’ve been dreaming of……

Nah they won’t be going again. Very much a one off for my little niece. I don’t/wont have kids so doubt I’ll get the chance to go again. All I’ve done all day is cry when I’m not asleep. Terrible luck.

You could go on your own. I'm sure it would still be amazing.
