Pesenter Ali on LBC asks is "Only Fans" A form of Prostitution ?

He has made a valid point again.

USA:
[Whether it's payments from your subscribers, tips,
or any other form of payment on OnlyFans,
the IRS considers it self-employment income.
This means you'll need to report all your earnings,
even if you don't receive a 1099 form from OnlyFans.]

The reason he is raising this is due to the Swedish government defining it as prostitution and banning it, I always thought the Swedes were very liberal

arista 12-07-2025 01:57 PM

He Stated

Lilly Allen
earn's more is earning for OnlyFans
showing her feet

Then on her Music.

Yes, that's the background

Liam- 12-07-2025 02:01 PM

No, prostitution is being paid to have sex, being paid to be watched have sex that you’re having anyway isn’t prostitution.

And even if it was, who even genuinely cares about what people do with their own bodies and lives?

arista 12-07-2025 02:05 PM

But people are paying members on
Only Fans

Edited title "A form of" added

Zizu 12-07-2025 02:22 PM

I can honestly say that I have never used or viewed or whatever the term is … OnlyFans so I was surprised to see this statement .

“Shortly following increased campaigning against OnlyFans due to concerns about child sexual abuse material, on 19 August 2021, the company announced that from 1 October 2021 onwards it would not be allowing sexually explicit content.”

I have read reports of people doing sexually explicit acts and some having sex ..

OnlyFans isn’t prostitution. It’s adult content, not in-person sex for money. Big difference legally and practically.

Crimson Dynamo 12-07-2025 02:49 PM

I guess its no different than say most female "pop stars" like Carpenter simulating sex and acting like a prostitute on stage 24/7?

bots 12-07-2025 03:01 PM

it's obviously complete bollocks

see that statement falls apart when you consider Andrew Tate and his brother and others like him made money from young adults doing adult content online

It’s adults right!

A similarly exploitative and insidious industry alright

Define prostitution:

Prostitution is the act of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for money or other goods or services. It typically involves a person (the sex worker) providing sexual services to another person (the client) under an agreed transaction.

Prostitution typically involves in-person sexual services exchanged for money. It’s defined by physical sexual acts between two or more people, with at least one being paid.

Onlyfans is content creation that is distributed.

It’s difficult for me to make a case as I have no experience of Only Fans.

I just know what I have heard and read but those accounts sound very similar to the definition of prostitution tbh

It’s not though. Prostitution involves two or more people engaging in sexual activity in person.

Onlyfans is content creation that is distributed.

It’s like saying porn is prostitution. It’s not.

the definition of prostitution predates the advent of the internet...

perhaps it needs to be updated to include it?

Glenn. 12-07-2025 03:54 PM

It’s adult entertainment…

Pretty simple really

Glenn. 12-07-2025 03:55 PM

Also OnlyFans isn’t just porn.

Fitness videos and cooking tutorials, personal blogs, music and art. Are they prostitutes too?

Mystic Mock 12-07-2025 07:02 PM

Porn in general is a legal form of Prostitution imo.

Barry. 12-07-2025 07:04 PM

Nah I don’t think it is. Isn’t prostitution when you pay for sex so you aren’t paying them to have sex with them. Also some only do solo jobs there

That’s fair in your opinion, but legally it’s not. Porn’s filmed, distributed, and usually regulated. Prostitution’s a private transaction. Big legal (and taxable) difference, whether we agree with it or not.

That's true tbf.

Regardless though, I don't have an issue with either industry's existence tbh.

Well I read most prossies are also on OFs so it's plain the crossover is there

Glenn. 12-07-2025 09:24 PM

The only way it could be called prostitution is if the subscribers were actually paying to have sex with the model. Watching a video or buying a pic isn’t the same thing. It’s really not that hard to grasp.

bots 12-07-2025 10:03 PM

if you want to take it to the general conclusion that this thread is driving toward, everyone that works for money is prostituting themselves in one way or another

There are ‘standards’ though …

Many job descriptions are at worst tedious but not completely embarrassing like working in the sex trade or selling yourself on Only Fans

What would your parents, close family and friends think … is a good test I think

there is only one very small segment of the sex trade that is defined as prostitution. You know this, and you also know that you sound like Mary Whitehouse

Tbh I've never really understood the "standards" argument when it comes to employment.

I thought that most people were happy if people were working and contributing to the Economy? Personally as long as I'm not forced into watching Lily Allen Foot Porn then I'm good.

Livia 13-07-2025 09:47 AM

Maybe not prostitution in its purest form, but sex work, definitely.
