Good on SkyNewsHD

Showing the Smoke
with a Sports match in the next field

BBCnewsHD is pathetic
just showing a stock photo of the airport.

SkyNewsHD reports
its a sub section, of the Airport.

Dutch Company owns this plane.

Let's hope our Nicky has an update

The Nearby Rugby Club
and Golf Club
have now ended their session early.

arista 13-07-2025 06:06 PM

2 other planes were due to land there,
they have now landed in Gatwick.

Ammi 14-07-2025 06:23 AM

…another devastating/tragic aircraft incident…and for those on the ground watching also and waving to the pilot and then watching it all become a fireball…incredibly tragic…

we don't know as for now who was on board of that jet, if it were tourists, or some high profile VIP

Sky News said it could be a Medical Plane
so well less people in it.

I do hope the People behind this plane
give a update soon.

arista 14-07-2025 12:34 PM

Confirmed all 4 on the plane died

News conference 3PM

Nicky91 14-07-2025 12:49 PM

since this plane veered to the left after takeoff, my initial thoughts are this could be a case of assymetric thrust

Nicky91 14-07-2025 01:19 PM

Quote:

It reached a maximum altitude of just 175 feet before losing control.

The aircraft had a vertical speed of only 129 feet per minute and a ground speed of 96 knots, which is unusually low for a climb phase

so this could be either

1) improper center of gravity due to overloading, since it was a medical transport aircraft, it might've been carrying specialized equipment, possibly even a stretcher, and if the weight was not balanced properly, this could lead to a loss of control

2) Mechanical or Flight System Faults: either failure of one engine—especially at low altitude—requires precise corrective input? or A misconfigured rudder trim, flap setting, or even a stuck control input could turn fatal that quickly.

3) Pilot Actions and Condition: Were the pilots fatigued or under stress? Any preexisting health issues could also play a role in reaction times. like with TAROM flight 371

4) Environmental and External Factors: The weather was reportedly clear, but wind shear or even bird strike can’t be ruled out yet. or Any obstruction near the runway? Fuel contamination?

Nicky91 14-07-2025 01:22 PM

also witnesses saw the pilots waving at people before departure, so much for a sterile cockpit then

especially at takeoff, you need full attention at takeoff and nothing else

Nicky91 14-07-2025 01:37 PM

fatigue could play a role

i mean from Athens to Pula, 2 hours and 10 minutes

Pula ground operations (unloading, loading and refueling) 40 minutes

Pula to London, 2 hours and 20 minutes

thats a total of 5 hours and 10 minutes, which would've given them 2 hours and something for rest and a meal

hmmmm that is quite a workload for these pilots

Nicky91 14-07-2025 01:42 PM

theory: what about the payload?

how about if there were a couple of full oxygen tanks on board?

Quote:

More weight → higher drag → slower acceleration → lower rate of climb, especially at high engine loads.

If tanks were installed hastily or unevenly, you could get asymmetric roll or sluggish pitch response.

and

CG Shift Possibilities

If tanks are stored in the aft cabin or rear luggage bay, CG shifts rearward, which can:

Delay rotation during takeoff

Make the aircraft more pitch-sensitive or unstable
.

could also be a probable cause

Nicky91 14-07-2025 01:50 PM

they used up approx. 3.500-4.000 feet of runway before they took off

normally a aircraft of this size takes up 2.500-3.000 feet of the runway in normal circumstances

so was it too heavy?

Nicky91 15-07-2025 07:07 AM

it were dutch pilots, and one of the passengers was a nurse named Maria, it was her first time being a nurse on board this medical transport

…yeah I read that earlier…her first day on her job…/…31yrs old…at the moment not all identities have been confirmed, I believe…

Ammi 15-07-2025 07:15 AM

Such a tragedy, they had just dropped off a patient

Beso 15-07-2025 08:51 AM

It's a bit concerning we still dont know who was on board. How many more planes are flying in and out of the UK without the authorities knowing who's on board.

Ammi 15-07-2025 01:15 PM

…a second name has been released…

Dr Eyl, 46, is believed to be from the Kleinmaischeid municipality in Germany.

A social media tribute describes him as "a doctor, companion and friend". It goes on: "With his warm, honest, and humorous nature, he has not only provided medical assistance, but shaped our community. He was a man who listened, tackled and encouraged. Exactly when it came down to it. His commitment was not taken for granted, his loss is immeasurable.”

That is really sad,
to lose a Doctor

Nicky91 15-07-2025 01:24 PM

it is weird though that this aircraft has two flights without problems, from Athens to Pula, from Pula to London

what was so different about this fatal flight then?

Yes, they must go public
with what caused the crash.

RIP ...his last act was to deliver his patient and I would imagine the end was swift

Does not seem to be.

Nicky91 15-07-2025 01:34 PM

The aircraft flew five legs in two days: Lelystad → Memmingen → Athens → Pula → Southend → (intended) Lelystad

That’s over 10 hours of flight time in just 48 hours, not counting pre/post-flight duties.

:umm2:

arista 15-07-2025 02:24 PM

Yes, maybe different staff on the flights

More for the Company to give the whole truth

All 4 that died
were Foreign nationals

Beso 15-07-2025 08:27 PM

Some rich persons private doctors probably.

Wonder who.

Beso 15-07-2025 08:57 PM

George lazenby is on deaths door...and he played James bond.

Putin?

Nicky91 17-07-2025 01:38 PM

weather was calm at time of takeoff, visibility was fine either

Nicky91 17-07-2025 01:42 PM

5.775 KG, slightly above the max takeoff weight of 5.670 KG

not ideal, but nothing disastrous since you can compensate with different flap settings, like flaps 30?

or were these pilots unaware they were too heavy, since pilots in general sometimes rely on estimates, rather than precise figures

bots 17-07-2025 01:44 PM

Small planes are very dangerous and maintenance is not always the best it can be. Just look at that french footballer that crashed on his way to cardiff a few years ago
