A man in a mental health crisis was beaten by members of the public on the
London Underground yesterday (Thursday, August 7). The British Transport
Police have said it is investigating after a video showing the shocking incident
circulated on social media.

The video, seen by MyLondon, shows a man naked from the waist down on
board a District line Tube near East Ham Underground Station who is then
approached by a fellow passenger and told to get off the "********** train".
The half-naked man then shouts at him to "******* off" repeatedly, visibly
appearing in distress.

When you know the person screaming about protecting vulnerable women is the same one who worships men like Trump, you already know where this is going. A black, mentally ill man exposed himself on a train today, and suddenly they’re an expert on morality and public safety. Funny how their outrage only ever catches fire when the offender ticks the boxes that fit their agenda, yet they’ll twist themselves into knots defending powerful white men with histories of far worse behaviour. It’s selective outrage, not genuine concern.

There’s a way to protect someone without assaulting another who’s very-clearly unwell.

I’d rather have my hand as the way it is than a racist one that doesn’t even care for the rights of women in any other context that’s not hinging on shaming another marginalised group or giving you more of a reason to poster up your latest political bait (‘Khan’s woke London’).

I hope the gammons that attacked him face charges too. Hopefully the man is getting the help he needs.

What is clear is that alot of unnecessary force was used, that said he was on a train with women and kids and he was not exactly amenable, we weren't there so we don't really know whats been said or done as it unfolds.

He’s been detained under the mental health act so it is what it is. He doesn’t have to be in the throes of delirious mania with a rapid flight-of-ideas jumble of incoherence to probably not be in quite his right mind. Did you know that?

Right, many recent attacks on civilians have been designated as an individual with mental health so its all very well but if anyone had been injured the same people complaining would be asking why no one intervened. I am also curious as to what pointers to mental health Glenn gleaned from the video, he is obviously a professional in the field.

You don’t have to be a professional to sense that something might not be right with this guy and have a bit of sympathy for him, especially when the main, usual culprit slagging him off is a known racist, bait-y troll. I’m more comfortable in my lane and allowing for the possibility of him being acutely unwell than suggest he was on something (including and especially alcohol) or just taking the piss.
