Bleeding Love - Jesse McCartney

BEFORE I START.
I'm a HUGE fan of Jesse.
I've got both of his past two albums, and eagerly anticipating the next one, whereas I couldn't care if I ever heard Leona again.
so obviously I'm biased.

but IMO.
his version is much better.
Obviously, he can't really match Leona's vocally.
but for a male, he shows outstanding vocal ability and has a beautiful falsetto.
ALSO, you can hear a lot of emotion in his voice [afterall, he DID co-write it]

Therefore, I'm addicted to Jesse's version.
I wouldn't care if I never heard Leona's again.

not expecting anyone else to like it since TiBB is like.
Leona-dominated.
but otherwise.
opinions?

MrGaryy 08-05-2008 07:37 PM

Don't really like Jesse or Leona, but hers is deffo better.

Riz 08-05-2008 07:51 PM

I personally prefer Jesse's.
For me, it's more than just the vocals.

I'm glad he's released his interpretation because I've always wanted to hear it.

Arneldo 08-05-2008 08:28 PM

Awful. He cant sing.

He is cute though

Sarah. 08-05-2008 08:32 PM

THIS IS WAAAAY BETTER THAN LEONA'S!
I loves it.<3

KKBL 08-05-2008 08:33 PM

leaving the fact that Leona has a better voice and that she puts wayy more emotion in when shes singing. i think its for the best that Leona got it.if Leona didnt get it then it would have flopped and this song is amazing so it doesent deserve to flop.

xDramatick 08-05-2008 08:45 PM

Glad I ain't the only one who prefers Jesse's.

I think the song would only have flopped because Jesse's not well known here, not because of his vocal ability.
I'd disagree with the emotion? Jesse wrote it about Katie Cassidy and how he missed seeing her when he was away that it'd 'cut him open' and he'd 'bleed love' for her? [can't remember where I read that though]
I guess it's hard to say as we haven't seen him sing it live.

Arneldo 08-05-2008 08:48 PM

No, but we have heard it recorded, and Leona's recorded. I personally think there is no competition. Leona has more vocal talent in his little finger then Jesse has in his whole body. However, he is obviously a very good songwriter.

But surely you can't deny that vocally Leona is of a much higher standard!

Obviously.
However.
It shows a superb vocal considering he's male, what with the falsetto and showing off his range.

&I agree that he's a great songwriter
But I still prefer his to Leona's.

Dan_ 08-05-2008 09:04 PM

It's an okay version but the production and vocal on Leona's version are far superior.

Billy 08-05-2008 09:05 PM

LOL at Leona showing emotion. SHe has the emotion of a cardboard box when it comes to singing,

I prefer Jesses :D

Hugo 08-05-2008 09:09 PM

Good God. Leona all the way. Jesse sounds like a robot throughout the whole song. I'm with Rizwan. Killed it.

So basically he had no faith in it. Would have gone nowhere. Sold it to a record label. Huge success. Wanted it back. Desperately tries to spong off Leona's talent. What a ****ing liberty.

Okay...I've found a voice to rival annoying-ness that of Michael from the Apprentice.

He sounds so nasal. He might as well sod off and buy some Vicks vaporub ASAP.

1. He had faith in it, but it didn't suit his musical direction. If you listen to clips of Departure, it actually wouldn't fit in with the style [considering he was going for a Prince/Michael Jackson sound]
2. Would have gone nowhere because he's not well known here.
3. Sold it to Simon/Leona after hearing about HER talent.
4. He didn't want it back. It's just a bonus track on the australian version of the album.
5. Why would he want to "spong" [dictionary plz] off Leona? Wouldn't it be the other way round seeing as SHE'S singing HIS song. Not the other way round?

gameset&match plz.

Of course there's an opinion in it.

TO you; she may displaying the inner emotion of missing a loved one.
TO me; she could be pulling faces by suffering from constipation or having a major migrane.

[quote/]Well at least Leona actually sung her properly. He sounds like a robot with nasal polyps! + to right he's no known over here. Doesn't look he's had or sound physically possibel to have had success in the US whereas Leona has and she's from the UK

KKBL 08-05-2008 09:24 PM

Jesse & Ryan Tedderr got together to write stuff for Jesses album.they wrote Bleeding then recorded it.Jesse relised it was an amazing song but it wasnt for him so Ryan played it to Simon and Simon gave it to Leona.

She released it originally and if people didn't like how she sung it then why has it been number virtually all over the entire planet.

A hideous, embarrasing, desperate and a somewhat cringe worthy attempt at a Leona Lewis classic.
