"Gran Hermano" (Big Brother) has broken a new record at the start of auditions in its tenth season: almost 30,000 people have contacted the number authorized by Telecinco -806 502 502 (1,18 euros per minute)- during the first week to become housemates.
With this numbers, the pioneer and most successful reality TV in Spain exceeds the candidates' numbers from the two latest seasons, as has been said by Telecinco. The "Gran Hermano" auditions team has already begun to work with the first personal details sent by the candidates before starting the next phase, which will begin a tour of the main Spanish regions: Madrid, Galicia, Asturias, Basque Country, Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Aragon and Extremadura. The process will be supervised by the psychologist Enrique Garcia Huete, who will lead a team of specialists in the preparation of profiles of each candidate. During the ninth seasons, more that 600,000 people have tried to enter into "Gran Hermano". Telecinco 2 (the channel broadcasted by Digital Terrestrial Television) will show whole the first season of "Gran Hermano": all the weekly shows and diary shows. "Gran Hermano 1" will end seen by 9.905.000 viewers and the 70,8% share. |

A bus will search the last housemates to "Gran Hermano 10" for the second year in a row. This bus will travel around Spain with the casting team.
The latest year, Melania, Dadi and Piero were selected in their cities by the casting team in the bus. The cities and towns will be Laredo (Cantabria), Huesca, Benicàssim (Castellón), Salou (Tarragona), Cartagena (Murcia), Ibiza (Balearic Islands), Marbella (Málaga) y Conil (Cádiz). During a press conference, the host, Mercedes Milá, has said that the housemates will be very powerful this year. Quote:

The tenth season of "Gran Hermano" in Spain will launch on Sunday, 21st September (although the evictions and nominations will showed on Tuesdays). This will be the first 10th season with anonymous in the world.
This season will be hosted by Mercedes Milá. Carmen Alcayde will host the diary shows and "Gran Hermano: El debate" (Gran Hermano: The debate) will be hosted by Jorge Javier Vázquez. Gran Hermano has been broadcasted on Wednesday (GH1 and GH2) and on Thursday (GH3-GH9). However, "Gran Hermano" has been broadcasted on Tuesday during GH3 (the 6th eviction and the 7th nominations) because of the Spanish general strike. http://media.vertele.com/0000037500/0000037817.jpg Zeppelin TV (the producer) and Telecinco will surprise the viwers with surprising housemates. In the latest seasons transsexuals (Amor and Nicky), twins (Conchi and Pamela), the primite (Carlos), the naive (Nuria), the lesbian (Raquel), the former prostitutes (María José and Mónica) or the seminarian (Rafa) have entered the house. Telecinco and Zeppelin kept the housemates' identity to maintain the mystery until the day of launch, but some profiles have been leaked. On of this profiles will be an Asian housemate. The adjectives can come before or after the noun in Spanish. "Gran" is the same as "Grande", but "Gran" must be written before the noun (Hermano).

We have done a long journey to find the perfect, surprising, unexpected housemate. This Sunday at 9:30 pm. you'll find "Gran Hermano 10." It's another story. It's very strange because Telecinco announced "Gran Hermano 10" at 10:15 pm. in the first adverts. The Spanish prime time starts between 10pm and 10:30 pm. Perhaps this is an special programme with the auditions. Mercedes Milá, the host, will be in "El programa de Ana Rosa" (The Ana Rosa's programme) tomorrow to talk about the tenth edition. |
Finally, 16 housemates entered into the house. They are Almudena, Ana, Carlos Fernández, Carlos Hoya, Eva, Gema, Germán, Gisela, Iván, Javier, Julio, Li, Loli, Mirentxu, Orlando and Raquel.
Almudena is a midget person, Li is the first asiatic housemate in GH, Mirentxu is the oldest housemate in the GH history and Gema and Carlos Fernández are married. All housemates entered into the GH1 house in a return to the past. The house was as the housemates left more than 8 years (although it's a reconstruction because that house was in another town in Madrid). Carlos Fernández and Gema entered into the future house: the GH10's home. All the housemates in the GH1 house are up for eviction. Li was the fifth evicted last night during the best Gran Hermano show that I have seen in the ten seasons.

She was to take a big decission. Finally, the lines were closed. Javier was the most voted and he entered into the "Three doors room" with Lizfanny and Estefanía. Each one hidden behind a door. In the meantime, Julito and Mirentxu left the house like evicted housemates in a fake triple eviction. The house GH1 was finally closed. The game starts in GH10 house with nominations and evictions. Meanwhile, the first secret Gran Hermano in the Spanish history starts with Julito, Mirentxu and Lizfanny. They will live isolated and without luxuries in the GH1 house, but without nominations and evictions almost until the end of the season. In addition, the next Tuesday the housemates will live the famous Halloween's special show during the first nominations in the GH10 house when the war started the last week. |
