Go on it, seriously.

I went on it when it was really new a good few years back, and it's so exhilarating! The adrenaline is immense.

Tom 15-07-2008 08:31 PM

Alton Towers is really good, but my loyalty lies with Blackpool

I love the Pleasure Beach :colour:

Would you say it's better than Nemesis or Rita: Queen of Speed?

Fom 16-07-2008 01:44 AM

Rubbish thing about alton towers for me is that it closes far too early. I personally prefer blackpool pleasure beach, its closer, ques are shorter and it closes later. And the rides are just as good!
Plus you got good old woodies :)

Im going on monday, canneee wait.

GhettoSuperstar 16-07-2008 01:51 AM

Say "Hi" to the crazy quacky duck in the log flume for me! :xyxwave: He's mint but scary as ****.

Rita is mint. Nemisis is good but you don't really get a good view, it's just like 'wtf's happening'

Rubbish thing is that starting next year, the pleasure beach is charging £5 for people to walk around the park. To stop hobo's coming in and stuff. Keep it more family.

Tom 16-07-2008 02:42 PM

I think its a good thing, it will stop people wandering in and getting jealous because they want to go on a ride

Bands are only £21 anyway, its not really a wallet crusher.

fairymoon 16-07-2008 06:02 PM

i walk around cusi like it i cannot go on rides but if i could i would, bit unfair to charge to walk round people might complain about that

Tell that to a single mum taking her 4 kids.

I didn't end up going today, depsite paying my £19. :bored: I hadn't gotten my pass in one of my ICT modules so it was Alton Towers and fail, or get it done. I'm absolutely gutted because I've never, ever been to Alton Towers, and I missed the trip with work the other month because I'd have rather went with 6th form.

Lauren, you're the only one who commented .. says a lot.

You're not really missing anything, it's crap. Most of the rides do basically the same thing but given a different name (ie. dozens of variations of a rollercoaster)

It is good. You'll have to go eventually.

On another note I only found out today that Southport reopened ages ago

Legend 16-07-2008 06:26 PM

See, some people [Tom] say it's good and others [marsh] say it's not worth it, what to do?! LOL.

It's nothing to get excited about Tom, it's much smaller and has one 'big' rollercoaster. I think that'll be coming down soon, I don't actually think some of the rides were knocked down, and the 'new' Southport is what remains of them. I do miss it though, I remember going on the traumatizer 7 times in one day.

Chrizzle 16-07-2008 06:27 PM

I went a couple of weeks ago and there were schools there, they are so annoying. LOL have fun though:bigsmile:

Indierock&roll 16-07-2008 06:30 PM

rita is the worst ride there!
i got cramp on it!
lmao it was horrible

Traumatiser is in Blackpool now (Infusion). Its actually better over water and stuff. Alton Towers is good but its only good when its not overly packed and you get there early because the queues can get pretty big. I'm not to keen on the sound of the new Southport then ...

I know the cyclone has gone, you need those classic wooden coasters for light relief  But Alton Towers don't have any of them, its their only bad point.

AlexTheGreat 16-07-2008 06:42 PM

Im going there next tuesday as part of Activities day with my school.

(Activties day is a yearly thing at my school where you get a list of activities and day trips and pick one to go to)

cant wait

Axiom 16-07-2008 09:16 PM

Hey! Just got back and it was awesome lol

Sarah. 16-07-2008 09:17 PM

awesome!
how busy was it?

Axiom 16-07-2008 09:18 PM

Quite busy, as usual.

Fom 16-07-2008 11:09 PM

Infusion is SO much better in blackpool, just the scenery makes the ride far better. First time ive heard of a roller coaster moving to a new park.
