I love watching the olympics although the monkey ad on tv for it is getting annoying now.

Shaun 05-08-2008 10:14 PM

Looking forward to it...I love watching practically anything. I actually got really deep into the badminton doubles last time, lmao...

Makes a nice change to have variety in the sport played rather than just solid football/tennis/rugby.

BigSister 05-08-2008 10:50 PM

lol yeah i got into the badmington last time too shaun

Dan_ 05-08-2008 11:07 PM

I normally get into the likes of Badmington too, if there is a Brit doing well anyway.

I think I'll be taking the most interest in the Boxing this time though.

My friend Khan has been picked to train for London 2012 paralympic's, Khan lost the use of his legs when he was 5 in a car crash, in a wheel chair since and he LOVES IT :S, he went to a set of trials and beat 3 grown men who have been training for 4 years, he came 2nd. The scouter when crazy and had a talk with his mum, the man has now become his personal trainer and he trains mondays, thursdays and fridays. He now has a £4000 chair and he loves it. He ran the 100m in 13 seconds, 4 seconds slower than the world record. So watch out the name Khan for London 2012 :spin:

My dad ran for Ireland in the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Here's his bio on the BBC sports page:

Also, if you read it you'll see my name mentioned :dog:

Dan_ 05-08-2008 11:35 PM

One of Britain's biggest hopes for a gold medal is already out! Boxer Frankie Gavin failed to make the required weight limit in time.

Conor 07-08-2008 01:09 PM

Thanks guys. I guess it is my claim to fame :P

And Dan, unfortunately, my dad doesn't run any more, because of back problems. But he's recovered and is currently doing Ju Jitsu and weight lifting in free time. (Not for the Olympics though)

BigSister 08-08-2008 10:01 AM
