Stuart Sobs

Stuart has made a tearful visit to the Diary Room as the prospect of eviction brought his emotions to a head.

Initially in good spirits when he entered the Diary Room, he had confessed that he was feeling "a bit funny" as he considered that it was potentially his "last full day in the Big Brother House."

And asked who he would miss most if he was evicted, he replied, "I'd miss Michelle the most because we've got.... so massively close in here."

He was silent until Big Brother asked him if he's learned anything about himself.

"Oh, that is such a good question!" he said excitedly. But he hesitated before answering. He finally confessed that his time in the House had been a gruelling experience... and a challenge.

"Being able to handle a challenge of this magnitude has meant a lot," he said earnestly. At this point he shielded his eyes with his hands and began to weep quietly.

Asked by Big Brother whether he was OK, he mumbled, "yeah" before sinking into a silence peppered with muffled sniffs.

He explained the cause of his emotional condition. Faltering and sniffing as he spoke he revealed, "It's just... it's just been... like... an emotional rollercoaster".

And he was gutted at the possibility of the experience coming to an end.

He finally moved his hands away from his eyes after being asked how he'd feel if he survived eviction.

Wiping his eyes and composing himself he reasoned, "If [I] stay then obviously we'll have to get naked in here."

And he was adamant that he wasn't upset about his nomination, describing his weepy state as, "the release of a lot of emotion."

Looking upwards he rested his head on hand and tried to pinpoint the source of his tears. He concluded that his emotions had been accentuated by the prospect of potential eviction.

And he admitted that he found conducting his relationship with Michelle under close scrutiny difficult... and talked of their closeness.

On the subject of possibly being parted he mused, "We've just spent like every day together... which is quite a long time to then not [spend time together]."

The crying game

Informing Big Brother he didn't want to cry in public, he formed a plan to pull himself together.

"I'll have to do some press ups or something after this, so I feel tough again," he sniffled and blew his fringe up from beneath.

"Come on Stu! Let's go!" he exclaimed and slapped the arms of the Diary Room chair in an attempt to motivate himself.

Big Brother asked if he was afraid of expressing his emotions.

Furrowing his brow he replied, "I wouldn't use the word afraid...but..." Tailing off he covered his face again

Declining to answer the question he let out a long breath. After a few motivating paces of the Diary Room he left.

It's the same as BB2, one of the most boring people in the house will be spared eviction soley due to being in a relationship which people want to nosey in on.

I've only just read this, and of course HAVE to spring into defence of the legendary Paul Clarke to whom I assume to pertain in your statement.

The relationship was a completely different slow boil simmering affair which only culminated in similar frisky fumbles on the last night the couple were together, rather than the first night as with Michelle and hapless Stu.

Paul described his feelings after eviction as an emotional roller coaster too. Except he had survived 4 nominations, the indifference and unkindness of several other housemates and he had gently protected a naive and vulnerable girl throughout.

Rather than being boring, he gave incredible value for money. There was the frustration of the 'in-crowd' at not being able to evict him, their disbelief as to why he was more popular than their chosen friends, and best of all the sweet, developing romance and watching the process of people falling in love.

I'm with Davina - it was the best soap opera I have ever seen on TV. It has also stood the test of time. These two are as devoted to each other as ever, and still daft as a brush and just the same out of the house as they were in. No pretension, just the people they really are.

I might be persuaded to write a little story about Michelle and Stu, but not a whole series as I was for Paul and Helen in ROB's little world.

I like this years couple, the female is again doing the running, but Stu is an innocent abroad. I am not sure if he is emotionally ready or mature enough for THE romance of his life. For the present however, they are quite sweet together.

When it ends though I won't be scrutinising the pages of Heat and Hello for news of their progress, which even a cursory glance at posts for months and months after BB2 will prove that many of us were.

If that was as a result of someone boring, then I am happy to be bored anytime in a similar manner!

ROB has spoken!:flower:

JC 16-07-2004 08:39 AM

That's cool I guess, he kept you entertained, but for me the guy was easily the dullest housemate in BB2. The only reason he kept surviving is because the public thought he and Helen would get it on in the house. It was obvious to anyone who watched the E4 coverage that if they were gonna get it on, it wouldn't be in the house.

Frustration I shared as a viewer, when people who I found far more entertaining (including my favourite housemate, Bubble), were tossed out in favour of keeping Paul in.

At the end of the day though, we all have our opinions. Yours is fine, it's just wrong! :joker: (I am kidding!)

Romantic Old Bird 16-07-2004 12:07 PM

Absolutely, variety is the spice of life!

Personally, I didn't particularly take to Bubble in the house, thought he tried too hard to be fun, zany etc.

Also thought he was a wimp when up for eviction, AND he blamed Paul for failing the fire task, told everyone else it was Paul, and that Paul had let Helen take the blame. (As it happens we found out recently that Brian failed the task from Dean's book!) But I thought he handled his eviction interview OK, and we have spoken to Bubble on here, interview wise. He seems a good chap and I wish him well.

I'm glad the original lovebirds waited til they left the house anyway!

Now back to BB5......

Obsessed?? Me??:shocked::laugh:

BusyBee 16-07-2004 04:22 PM

Well done ROB - a girl after my own heart as you well know. Many a happy (and heated) hour was spent at the time arguing over whether or not Paul was boring.

Whether Michelle and Stuart make it will be down to how they cope when they come out. I think if they are serious they should make a trip to Barnet to find out how to overcome the problems that will be put before them.

Who can forget the horrendous hounding H and P had from the press - if you need reminder just read Dean's book where he describes they couldnt spend more than a few private moments together. The press were camped on their doorsteps and followed them everywhere. As Paul said a relationship in the house is very different to outside and they will need to recognise this and face up to it.

Stuart is very young and I think does have feelings for Michelle, but they have a very tough time ahead and need to realise this. At the moment they are cocooned from the outside gaze. Paul realised this and he and Helen knew that the outside world could make or break their relationship. He protected her in many ways, and still does.

I think whether they make it depends on how Michelle in particular reacts when she comes out. If she gets a lot of attention of other men and offers of glamour work. will she still want her chicken. We shall see. No doubt there will be the usual offer of a romantic holiday etc. As I said if they are serious they will need to listen to those who have gone before. BB romances that have worked have been kept low keyish when they come out ie. Lee and Sophie (at first), Tom and Claire (yes I know they've broken up) and Alex and Mel. Justine and Nick never stood a chance they were just too publicity conscious.

Stuart is also suffering from being up for eviction for the first time and perhaps is now thinking how the outside world has viewed his relationship.

All I can say is good luck to the pair of them.

bananarama 16-07-2004 04:32 PM

I think the biggest stumbling block to that relationship will be if Michelle gets offers of naught glamour work and she takes it on.

I just cannot see Stuart being able to handle that after seeing how badly he has reacted a few times in the house when Michelle has been using her assets to entertain.....

I think she is perhaps too mature for him and much more broad minded. Good luck to both of them...

Kore 16-07-2004 04:35 PM

i dont think stu will go this week!
i think most nadia fand will vote out victor,
and he will be the one gone,

but i hope victor gets to the final 4!
c'mon Vic, u can do it man!
