Something similar happened to me with my great grandma, and I know what your going through. Stay strong Christina and just think your nan is probably having a great old time wherever she is. R.I.P. and my best wishes go out to you and your family.

Oh Christina, I am so very very sorry for you, I know just how much your Grand mother meant to you but cant imagine what the loss of her will mean to you.

I just hope you take your time being with your familly who will need you the most right now, as you will need them also.
I got to know your Nan through your pics and posts about her, and she came across as a very sweet and dear lady who will be missed very much, I cant tell you exactly how very sad I am at this news.

My heart,tears and condolances go out to you darling, and the hope that you come back when your ready this place wont be the same without you.

Christina, I've only just heard this has happened now - Like Angie said, I know how much your Nan meant to you Christina x We were only speaking last night, even though it was about 5am!

I am so sorry for you Christina, we spoke about this earlier and I remember telling you, your Nan wouldn't want you to be upset and she would want you to fight this and I know you will do that for her. Christina your such a lovely person and I'm so glad I met you on here, I hope and pray you're okay and your family is too. I'm so sorry Christina.

I'll remember when you phoned me and your Nan was on the phone to me! She said I lived next door to you LOL!, Just try to remember those good times Christina

I am so so sorry to hear but now that your grans at a better place and isnt suffering.
Thats what i had to think when my gran died and it does kinda help.

Aww Christina kept telling me about her Nan, and we had a few conversations about it. Its really really sad to hear, as I know she was a great carer for her nan, and did everything she could for her to feel more comfortable. My thoughts are with her family and her. :hug:

Oh no, I remember Christina talking about her nan fondly. I'm so sorry to hear this news. If she doesn't read this please pass on my condolences, My grandad suffered from alzeimers and cancer so I know how she feels. I wish the best for Christina and her family.

aw no this is such sad news,christina had spoken to me about her nan in msn convos and on the forum before and i felt i could relate to her situation in some ways as my gran also has alzhimers and is in the later stage of it atm.My toughts go out to Christina and her family at this sad time and i hope she can come to terms with her loss in time.Thanks for posting this Conzors its very sweet of you,if your speaking to her again let her know that myself and im sure all her other friends on tibb are thinking of her:bawling:

Id like to say a massive thankyou to everyone who has thought about me and my nan. Your posts have brought tears to my eyes. It was an extremley hard time for me yesterday, i felt as though my nan waited for me as silly as some of you might think it sounds. I didnt get up until 3pm [i wish i had of got up earlier but these things cant be helped] and she waited until i had got ready. The doctor and district nurse had come in that morning and had told us that she needed to be put on a drip, she was also having to be taken to a hospice but we were ready to fight for her. She told us that she wanted to die at home. She got her wish. She passed away at 3.40 pm, and i held her hand moments later she fell asleep and she was gone. She was surrounded by her family which i feel she would of wanted. Unfourtunatly she didnt make it in time for her daughter but her daughter did see her. The undertakers took her to the chapel of rest at 8.30pm and i sat with her until they did. It was honestly the worst day of myne and my familys life.

My nan played a massive role in my family. She cared for me all my life which makes it harder as i have never spent a night away from her [excluding the sleepovers and mini holidays]. Her bed and room is now empty but i can feel that she is with us. We are not sure when her funeral is but she is to be cremated. We are going to be putting our old pet cat Mitzy's ashes in her coffin as one of my nans old phrases were 'Mitzy you'll be quick enough to jump in my coffin'.

I knew that my nan didnt have long left. These past 6 weeks have been heartbreaking to say the least, i have seen how weak she had become, she had got to the point were she could no longer talk, eat, drink or even walk. My nan was a fighter and i loved her very much. I have asked if i can write a special poem for her and my auntie and dad have said that i can do whatever i want. As distressing as this may sound, i had always feared waking up and finding my nan dead. I had always been afraid. But when i sat there with her it looked as though she was asleep. She was very cold but looked very peaceful and comfy. I just thank God that she has lived 93 years of her life. And i could feel her pulse slowing fade away as i held my grandmothers hand.

And finally before i go i would like to say a massive thankyou to Conor who wrote this in memory of my nan. Im sure she enjoyed her late night phone call with you. I thankyou for everytime i come to you, Josh, Alex and Loukas [and everyone else]. Im sure wherever my nan may be she is looking down on all of you and raising a glass of whisky to each and everyone of you at Tibb. Thankyou all so much for your kind words. And R.I.P to my wonderful strong loving nan. I love you and i always will.

P.S I also am very thankful that i was the last to kiss her goodbye when the undertakers took her away. I told her i loved her and how thankful i was to her :sad: x
