Why does name change take so long?
 

Some people on here have been begging for months to get it changed.. and I personally don't want to change mine, but why are they being ignored?

What about if you're like 13 and have it as "SeXiiBabbbe" and then when you're like 15 you're REALLY embarresed by it and want to change it?

Well then that would learn them to think first in the future

Maybe it depends on whether you requested it in the name change thread or within your user cp?

Oh for god's sake, I hardly ever thought of the future when I was 13.

What about people who joined and had HMs names in their username? Not thinking that they would return to the forum after BB?

if not, well they are stupid for doing it

Names changes aren't bad if they're changed a lot but kept similar or not changed very often(i.e once or twice) and are different.

Its only in the last couple of months Ive noticed it takes ages..

Ive changed mine twice.. and they both took less that 48 hours.. so I dunno.. I spose it makes people unfamiliar with everyone as James said.. x

Only James, Kaz and I are able to change usernames by the way, not moderators... so if you're angry, be angry to me! :hugesmile:

Maybe it would be good to have the facility to change it yourself like they have on other forums? Just an idea.

I guess it depends how different you want it to be? Obviously if it's very different it'll be unfamiliar for other members who haven't been on in a while.

Have they tried signing out and then signing back in with the new name? That's what I had to do when I changed mine..

That defeats the problem of people changing it all the time, and maybe to things that defeat the language filter. It would be hard to keep up with all the name changes.

Also if someone requests a name change, then U2U's me 10minutes later and then starts msg'ing on MSN to why it's not been changed, I'm more inclined to do it at a later time.

Ive requested my name change 3 times, but it never happened. And I never send u2us or anything. Just used the normal system!! So what should I do?

Yeah but that would be one less burden for the mods/admin. As I said it was just a suggestion to throw in the discussion.

I've changed your username to Aint_mad_atcha from nowsthebturn as you requested in the u2u you sent there.

The username change form is off at the moment but if you u2u an admin we will change it for you, as long as you aren't changing it all the time.

Mods are unable to do so.

Maybe they should be allowed to?

I think she's mainly talking about 'tooperfect' who has wanted to be 'Hugo/HUGO' (cant remember which) for months. :thumbs:

If I remember right tooperfect has had quite a few username changes already, that is why I was reluctant to change it again.
