also Womanizer isn't the sort of you can sing to
its a recorded dance track

Britney hasn't really sung live in years, so it won't come as any kind of shock to her fans or the general public.

I believe, it just a bad reflection of our fake society that the producers of the X-Factor have allowed this Woman to appear on a live singing show.

83 million tone deaf idiots who jumped on a band wagon...... that's amazing.

And you know, all 83 million of them would think she has never done anything wrong in her life and to say something against her is spiteful and a attack on themselves.

No come on, this woman is an average singer with problems.

The only reason she has sold 83 million records is because her songs are catchy. She has hardly any vocal talent. She's like an operating system, it must take the technicians weeks to perfect her voice and make it sound like Microsoft SAM.

Cant deny she got loads of fans, but a lot of people dont like her! I like some of her songs, but I never enjoy her perform.

To be fair, britney build up her fanbase by singing, and being pretty good, with a sultry voice. But after she became famous, I dont think she did anything other than let producers turn her into whatever! But when Britney first came out, you cant deny she as a huge talent!

Oh come on. All artists are at that nowadays (Rihanna?). You're only focusing on the Blackout era. I suggest you remind yourself of her earlier work.

Good management, good PR, a relationship with Justin Timberlake, rivalry with Christina, a computer and of course - notoriety.

She is as much a manufactured celebrity as any one that has been on Big Brother in recent years.

Circus is hardly unplugged now is it? And no one does it to the extent that she does and if they come close (Rihanna) they at least make up for it by showing they can sing well by perforimg live once in awhile.

Rivalry with Christina? Come off it, they don't dislike each other. People just assume they do. Like Jack said it's 2008 who doesn't use a computer to edit their songs? Christina even does it.

I never said they disliked each other I merely pointed out that the media pinning them against each other benefited both of them greatly during the beginnings of the their careers.

Britney's not a musician because Musician implies they can play some sort of instrument. Yes, Britney's not the only one artist that uses a computer to edit her vocals, but Rihanna can't sing particularly well either, bad example. I'm not saying she can't sing at all, she obviously has some sort of vocal ability, just not that much. Most artists nowadays use computers for effect in their songs. Girls Aloud's "Sexy! No No No" used it for effect. Not because they can't sing, they've proved it in other songs. Same with Christina. The third chorus of KGB has clearly been edited, but everyone knows she's extremely capable of singing through a song.

Britney will more than likely mime, which is a shame because that'll lose her credibility [I certainly will lose respect for her, particularly after gaining it]. Miming, IMO, is the worst thing an artist can do. It's like saying 'I can't sing/I can sing but I can't be bothered to show it to you now.' I don't care if she sings over recorded vocals, just something to prove she can sing live. I know she'll dance but so do other artists, and they sing live/over recorded vocals. Yes, Same Difference did it, and I'm disappointed in them for doing it, however, they've nothing to prove. They sang live all last year throughout the contest, and Britney hasn't sung live for at least 4 years, and seeing as there is criticism about her voice, if she was to sing live, regardless of whether it's amazing, or decent, it'd prove a point to all those who say she can't.

people realy need to get over the miming thing.Britney sings pop-dance-electronic music which is supposed to make people dance.its impossible for her to sing most of her songs properly and dance at the same time.she is perfectly capable of singing all of her songs 100% live but her managment choose not to.

As for the posts about other artists using computers (like Rihanna): the only thing that says is that there are a lot of "singers" out there who can't actually sing.

Listen to Christina Aguilera or Kelly Clarkson singing live. That's how a real singer sounds. Britney Spears is a gimmick. She has fans, but that doesn't mean she has talent.

Brintey plays the piano, and no one on here has called her a musician other than Dance2Night. Christina Aguilera mimed at the VMAs this year, have you lost all respect for her?

Circus is far less digitally edited than Blackout. In fact the only song on Blackout which is notably enhanced is "Womanizer", which in my opinion is for effect.

It's a shame Britney never shows the public what she's capable of then. As for Xtina, I am disappointed in her, I presume she has her reasons but whatever they are, of course I'm disappointed in that. However, that was ONE time. I'm not condoning it, but I do see that it can be overlooked considering she sings live pretty much every other time she performs, and more importantly, on her world tours.

And? Britney's an ENTERTAINER. Singing live whilst doing full on dancing will not dwell well because it'll weaken her vocals. Miming/using pre-recorded vocals creates a better effect upon the dancing.

Britney's always mimed on shows - why the **** do you only care now? She isn't the first to mime this series. Mariah did and so did Same Difference. Why hasn't that created a big uproar like this? Oh yeah, because it's fun to insult Britney Spears.

So whats the big deal, with all the dancemoves she does at the end when they talk to her she is so out of breath.. how would you expect her to sing and do the moves to?

Britney always puts on a show, I don't think not singing live is really an issue, it's not the first time this series somebody has mimed, and hell, she's not even performed yet, maybe she'll sing live!

I think it's unfair for people to jump on her back when she's not actually performed/sung yet...



However, I do object to a Britney week, she's got a very small discography in comparison to other artists, it's a bit convenient really, but I do hope it means people will be singing up tempo songs (looking for Diana and Eoghan to impress here - they have a young fan base, they might as well appeal to them!) this week!

She is an entertainer. Yep, Christina is a better vocalist but Britney is a thousand times better than Christina as a whole act - dancing and just general stage presence.
