Christina 04-01-2009 01:52 AM

I dont think alot of people get the meaning of 'chav' ... and even if you were one [which youre not] then you shouldnt be judged anyway.

WATERS 04-01-2009 01:55 AM

I don't even know where they got it from :conf:

You dont like being called Chav but by your definition because I love Rap and Techno [as long as it is not squeaky, bedroom DJ'ing] I am a Chav?

SiaSiaSia 04-01-2009 12:38 PM

u iz not a chav? gaaaaw mayt -ekzitz payg-

Z 04-01-2009 12:39 PM

I don't think there's any real definition of a "chav" to be honest, my general rule is that if I'm walking past someone or a group of two or three people, and they look threatening enough that I feel the need to cross the road because of the way they are walking, the way they dress or that they're carrying alcohol on them in the street - they're probably a chav. Obviously with a large group of people you tend to feel intimidated anyway, regardless of who's actually in the large group.

Urgh. I hate chavs [not saying your one]. The world would be a better place if we lined them all up & shot them. :dazzler:

It was in an argument a few weeks ago with Damon. He was using text speech galore and was insulting Damon for liking Britney...(if I remember right) Loadsss of people were using 'chav' against him (probably because his avatar was a picture of a group of people wearing hoddies and huddled up by a wall) and it caught on.

MarkWaldorf 04-01-2009 02:13 PM

It's fine lol Using 'chav' against someone for no reason is pretty weird and there was definitely reasons for doing so

Lol yeh i wouldnt care being called a chav not really too bad.

Sam! 04-01-2009 02:17 PM

I hate chavs lol. But why would you go out in trackies anyway. They're for in the housee and stuff. Unless they're nice ones like A&F or JackWills or sumin.

Tom 04-01-2009 02:25 PM

I hate the word chav, it doesn't even mean anything anymore and most of the people who use it don't even know what it means. people just use it to talk about something/someone they don't like because they think they're above people

I still live in the 90's so say scally instead, at least people actually know what I mean

I used to wear them at work / college coz i done bricklaying so jeans were easier to wear and cooler than jeans in the summer.

also going to the gym 5 days a week. so if i am going out for like 20 mins i wont change any longer i will. but dont mind wearing them just think why not..

I hate skinny jeans dont unerstand why guys would wear them.

ohh i mean just tracksuit bottoms btw not the full tracksuit.

MarkWaldorf 04-01-2009 02:33 PM

I hate the way word 'scally' it sounds sooo common? It really dehumanises someone imo

"lads" is another word that gets me. What's wrong with saying boys?

LOL you've just shot me down ... twice.

They're not human anyway so it doesn't matter if they're dehumanised

Boys sounds too kiddish, men sounds too grown up, so lads is the only alternative :blush2:

Last bit was exactly what i was going to say almost word for word lol.

MarkWaldorf 04-01-2009 02:41 PM

LOL Tom I realised that after I posted it! But yeah I guess thats a fair point. No one really uses it in London apart from older men (my headteacher, arghh) and boys who are close to male friends.

Yes, but I could also speak English

lily. 04-01-2009 02:57 PM

No **** sherlock.

Tom 04-01-2009 02:59 PM

Well what was the point in asking then? Just because you're young doesn't mean you're completely inept and unaware of whats going on :puzzled:

lily. 04-01-2009 03:00 PM

I just find it odd that you "still live in the 90s". It's the sort of thing someone twice your age might say.

Tom 04-01-2009 03:01 PM

It was a joke. of course I don't, I just prefer to say scally over chav and scally is a very 90s word.
