Peep Show [Sundays 10pm, C4]

Couldn't find a thread for the show in general, just one about Series 5.

Series 6 is reportedly coming to screen sometime in August, though it was supposed to be earlier. Can't wait

I have all 5 series on DVD...I can't stop watching them.

Favourite quotes? Characters? Episodes?

*prepares self for everyone to say "I don't like Peep Show" :(*

I don't like Peep Show . . . I LOVE it.

No, I'm kidding, I hate it.

Mark: While we’re at it, there are systems for a reason in this world. Economic stability, interest rates, growth. It’s not all a conspiracy to keep you in little boxes, alright? It’s only the miracle of consumer capitalism that means you’re not lying in your own ****, dying at 43 with rotten teeth. And a little pill with a chicken on it is not going to change that. Now come on... **** off.

I watched an episode before because it starred Liz May Brice and I have to say it was the dullest piece of (it's not worthy of any detogatory word) I've ever watched. Dull is too much of an understatement.

Shaun 30-06-2009 06:12 PM

Who's Liz May Brice?
edit: Oh, she played Mark's school-friend who wanted to start an affair with him.

And...oh dear.

I'm guessing you aren't a fan of dry subtle humour then...

idk what my humour style is, but I like 'Two Pints Of Lager', 'Shameless', 'The IT Crowd' and 'The Catherine Tate Show' if that helps.

Ah see they aren't my cup of tea.

I did like Shameless when they had the original cast, but now it's kinda ****.

Shaun 09-09-2009 10:03 PM

Series 6 starts Friday 18th September! :)

King Gizzard 09-09-2009 10:05 PM

Shaun 09-09-2009 10:09 PM

King Gizzard 09-09-2009 10:16 PM

Sorry corrections nazi

\PJ/ 09-09-2009 10:26 PM

I saw one episode and i thought oh this is not for me guess im not worht knowing...

Appearance_Of_A_Junky 09-09-2009 10:38 PM

My best bit - was the way that Jeremy explains to Mark what an E is like.

(enid, yeah the first 3 seasons of shameless were great, now its just awful, and give the IT crowd another go, its better when you are used to it)

(Chris Morris fan!)

King Gizzard 09-09-2009 10:49 PM

love the it crowd! moss has to be my favourite character from comedy shows i like

Fantastic! Only good program on C4 these days..

Gotta like the geeky guy and his love of history.

Show that i WANT to come back..
Drop the Dead Donkey
Spaced
Bo'Selecta
Spiting image
*program on BBC3 few years back, cartoon style thing and it was set in London, opening scene had these hoddies with knives.. Dark and funny.*

andyman 16-09-2009 01:58 AM

And League of Gentlemen.

Tom4784 16-09-2009 02:08 AM

Peep Show's.....okay. I find it a bit pretentious but it's okay in small measures.

eye sea 16-09-2009 10:23 AM

I hate that show and I hate the two dumb asses on it, especially the short fat one with brown hair. He is about as funny as diarrhea.

Shaun 16-09-2009 04:00 PM

I really don't understand people that hate it - I can kinda appreciate people who don't love it, but a negative reaction? On what? David Mitchell's character is often criticised by haters - that he's too snobby or uppity; THAT'S THE ****ING POINT. He's a social re-tard [hyphenated because re-tard automatically corrects to "idiot". wtf?], countless plot stories have been relying on that.

It's sarcastic, it's cynical, it's intelligent and it's brilliant - a bit like me. Maybe that's why I don't fit in here much any more.

Dolphin-and-Whale 16-09-2009 10:16 PM

Although Mark gets criticised I still love him, Hilarious. You ever see where he's being harassed by the kids outside his apartment:joker:

TurtleSoup 18-09-2009 05:54 PM

Yess, Peep Show is back!
I'm going to be unpopular when I say this, but I think many people don't like Peep Show because it requires them to think.
Obviously, not everyone, some people just don't like it because it's not their cup of tea.

Also, I have a Peep Show Facebook Group, please join in. :D

you sound like a fun person with a great sense of humour

Shaun 20-09-2009 01:37 PM

Apparently this Friday's episode is one of the best ever, with the Jeremy vs. Mark paternity storyline kicking off.
