A General Forum for Socialising with other Big Brother Fans mainly because the website title is 'This is Big Brother' so obviously it's about BB in the first place but we've seen more discussions about other show recently.

I did think of that given how much both TV Chat and Music have taken over the site, but decided that given there is sport and the general sections, that could be included in the last option.

But I do understand where you are coming from.

I use is as 'A General Forum for Socialising'

but I'd say its a 'A General Forum for Socialising with other Reality TV fans' since there was so much XF discussion this year.

I actually wouldnt know where to put it, its to discuss all reality tv shows (mainly BB obviously), and socialising.

I joined it as a Big Brother forum, and now see it as a general forum for socialising. I still talk about reality TV though.

Its turned out to be just a place to socialize with others really. Unless BB is on.

I agree, when I joined it was basically a Big Brother forum but over the years it has changed into something much more general. I don't think it is a bad thing but the dynamics of the site has changed and how people use it. For example sometimes it does become an extension of MSN in some threads.

For me it was for BB \ other reality TV shows, but now A General Forum for Socialising

Doesn't seem to be the way people use the place these days. Even with all the Jade Goody stuff in the news most people are interested in Music, TV Chat and General Chat.

To me its not even a big brother site, it annoys me when big brother is on lmao.

I just think it will always be a BB forum. I don't think many people will sign up if they don't like BB purely because of the name although some might. And what ever the site does, whether it gets renamed, rearranged whatever I think it will always have its roots with BB

You're not on your own I know of other members that come on the site for the other reality TV stuff, and they don't watch BB.

Oh I think you are right it will always have it roots in with BB and it will probably always be at it's busiest during the time the show is on because of it's returning members. But looking at the evolution of the site it much much more than just a BB site. Which is good because it future proofs the site.

I think it goes through phases of what it's about. Big Brother is a huge event but it's cyclical in nature; whereas things like Music and the general TV forum are always going to be full of things to talk about because they do not have a shelf life, they are constantly changing and evolving. I think it's still primarily a Big Brother forum, we attract loads of new users each year. I think I mostly use it as a general forum for socialising at the moment but I think that'll change come summer time.

I know what you mean.... but for a lot of new members I don't think BB was the event it was. Just looking back to the last BB there where a lot more general subjects in the todays post than there had been before during a BB series.

I think for people who have been here a while I think it's a general socialising forum with other entertainment fans(reality telly and music mainly). But for newbies it would be for more for Big Brother(depends on when they join). So voting for socialising with other reality tv fans.

I joined for Big Brother but I enjoy discussing XF, Dancing on Ice etc too.

I also speak to a lot of the members from here which is why I think socialising has a big part of it as well. Everyone on here gets on or talks. Like its not all boring fact fact fact. opinion opinion opinion. There are fun times too :cheer:
