Ask Cameron!

A BIG thank you to Cameron who has agreed to answer any questions you have for him in this thread!

So anything you'd like to know about BB, BB4 or Cameron post it here and Cameron will answer any questions he can.

Again Thank you Cameron you're a star

Ask away people......

CameronBB4 20-01-2005 12:47 PM

It's pleasure Amy. I've had a look through some of the BB4 past pages and there are things that I can put the record straight on if necessary - might even be a few things I'll bring up myself to clarify!

Anyway, if anyone does want to ask anything, please feel free. :spin2:

Amy 20-01-2005 12:55 PM

I have a question Cameron

Why did you want to go in to the Big Brother house?

CameronBB4 20-01-2005 01:28 PM

Oh Amy! I hate that question because I can never answer it.

It all started as a joke to tell you the truth - I've always been a HUGE fan of the programme, and have always thought it looked like it would be fun to take part (which I can assure you it is), so fired off a video and (enormous) application form. I didn't expect to hear anything after sending them in, so it was a huge shock when I got the first phonecall requesting that I come to Glasgow for the first round of auditions.

In the latter stages of interviews etc., the psychologist said that they couldn't figure out why I wanted to take part in such an extrovert show, bearing in mind that they termed me an "inhibitionist" - I just said that I didn't really know either, apart from it looking like fun.

Amy 20-01-2005 01:40 PM

Thanks for that Cameron..

I have a great one to ask lol, well a typical Amy question ...

What is Dermot O'leary like? Is he lovely like is he's on BBLB? and Davina?

You see I quite like Dermot

CameronBB4 20-01-2005 02:02 PM

Really...?! You surprise me!

Dermot's great - my Mum has a lovely photo of him hugging her . I'm sure a lot of laydeez would like a chance at a similar photo. He's very friendly and just like you see him on the telly. Shame of shames, I got him to speak to a friend of mine on the phone (can't find an embarrassed smiley) and he didn't object at all.

Davina is lovely too. She's really genuine and takes time to get to know people. She's even written to my Mum! I know people think that Davina shouts a lot but anyone who's been to an eviction will realise what a hard job she has. Meeting up with her at things afterwards I was a bit apprehensive thinking that she would just be "oh yeh - you're from Big Brother..." but no, she is genuinely pleased to see you.

Amy 20-01-2005 02:19 PM

Were you happy with the way that BB portrayed you whilst you were in the house?

CameronBB4 20-01-2005 02:21 PM

I have no idea yet. I've seen the DVD which is quite a laugh but I've had next to no time to watch any of the programmes.

Friends have said it was pretty accurate, but I would like to make up my own mind.

Amy 20-01-2005 02:27 PM

Have you met any BB housemates from other series? If so who've you met? Also are there any past housemates you've not met that you would like to?

Dan_ 20-01-2005 02:32 PM

Do you still keep in contact with any of the housemates from bb4?

The main person I would love to meet is Brian Dowling. He's easily my favourite housemate from outwith series 4. I would also love to meet Anna, and Helen and Paul.

I've met Craig, Lee and Sophie and Alex Sibley. Yes, he does whinge.

Yes, all of them - to a greater or lesser degree. The boys do a fair enough job of keeping in touch with each other - I don't know if you read about the reunion we had where we went quad-biking, paintballing, go-karting and all that. We are also all going to meet up either next month or in March.

Amy 20-01-2005 02:45 PM

Would you have liked to be included in the housemates for BB5?

Definitely! I wouldn't have minded being in any of the series so far - BB5 may not be a clear favourite to anyone, but I think it would be worthwhile having the experience all the same.

I also thought we in BB4 were lucky with the house, decor- and layout-wise, including the reward room!

I'd agree with you there, i also Liked the Bb2 house too!

have you been watching Celeb BB? And If you have who do you think will win?

Dan_ 20-01-2005 03:36 PM

If you could pick 11 past housemates from the bb series which ones would you pick to share a house with?

What are your opinions on the celeb bb housmates?

Cameron so would several of us on this site, although in my case as I have met Helen and seen Paul I would just like to get to know them better. OK as long as ROB and Rachb are included as well!!!

My question is - BB4 was seen by many people to be the most boring of all the BBs. What is your response to that.

Have you had any contact with any of the people you met on your South African adventure.

long snear :devil::hugesmile:

Why were you so horrid to Lisa, when it was clear she had been handed a posion challice. (She was so much maligned that she even underwent the pain of plastic surgery  )

When you said you wanted to put your thumb over her windpipe - immediately withdrawn, how does that fit in with the teaching of forgiveness and tollerance (Roamns 14).

Do you think your treatment of her sets a good example from someone professing the Christian faith.?

Steph was very much fond of you - did you ever visit her in her home town? Was there ever anything between you as Gos hoped

BigSister 20-01-2005 05:10 PM

Hi Cameron my question to you is if you could go back in the BB house would you do anything differently. Also big thanks for answeing them as well:spin2:

rachb 20-01-2005 05:32 PM

Thanks for doing this for us Cameron:thumbs:I'd love to meet Helen,Paul & Brian aswell.

I'd like to know
Did your opinion of any of your housemates change after leaving the house?
Do you still keep in conatact with any of the BB Africa housemates?
Who is your least favourite housemate from any of the bb's?

Romantic Old Bird 20-01-2005 07:00 PM

Hello again Cameron!

Two questions:

What are you up to these days?

Will you ever forgive me for this little spoof I did of you whilst you were in the house? (I am prone to writing the occasional story....) CLICK HERE

ALL DONE IN FUN, HONESTLY!

steve_o 20-01-2005 10:13 PM

How's Nush these day's? last time I saw her on telly, she was on RISE with a new hair cut. Is her leg properly better now? Sorry that's two questions as well:thumbs:

BusyBee 21-01-2005 09:58 AM

Which of the BBs has been your favourite series?

If you could have been a housemate in BB1, 2, 3 or 5 which would it have been and why.

Do you think you would have won in another series.

Sticks 21-01-2005 12:12 PM

Where has he gone ?
Has my Jeremy Paxman impression scared him away :conf:

Hopefully this'll answer your question too Amy.

I would go in with any of the past housemates, if only to meet them. If I had to choose, it might be a list something like this:

Anna
Darren
Nichola
Helen
Paul
Bubble
Brian
Dean
Alison
Jonny/Jade/Kate
Shell

As for the celebrity Big Brother people - I was very disappointed that Germaine Greer left the house before her time was up. I thought that Jeremy would have been in longer than Brigitte, but then that's the funny thing about Big Brother - you just never know.

BB4 saw many new features, such as the double eviction, the official arrival of a new housemate, the return of an evicted housemate and of course the swap with BBAfrica.

After the poor reception that BB3 received from the general public with reference to the bars and rich side/poor side, the producers had aimed to have a harmonious household. It certainly wasn't boring for us in there (perhaps some of us were bored on occasion) but it has become clear that getting along well doesn't necessarily create the most interesting viewing. I think we're the luckiest housemates in the fact that most of us are still friends and speak on and off. I would say that, in general, the boys are doing a better job at keeping up to date with one another than the girls.

I do keep in touch with some of the people from BBAfrica, both housemates and production people. I have had three trips planned to Zambia over the past year but have not managed to get there yet due to work commitments.

Lisa only got as good as she gave. I'm intrigued as to why you think she was handed a "poison chalice" all the same. She had the same warnings, the same chance to turn down the experience, the same 'everything' that we all had.

Regarding the "windpipe" comment, as you rightly say, it was withdrawn immediately and anyone who watched could plainly see that it was a humourous reference to her own comments about choking, not an out-and-out threat.

Being human, I fail - and I have never been one to cover up that fact. I also explained in the diary room that I didn't feel, as a Christian, that my behaviour at times had been a good example to others.

-----

I'm sorry to say it's FAR TOO LONG since I spoke to Steph! And sadly, I've never been to visit her yet. In the house we were very good friends, nothing more than that.

I would like to think that I would get over my shyness more quickly. I know that I was quiet and reserved for the first four or so weeks. Then again, that's what I'm really like - it always takes me a while to relax in 'new' company but once I am at ease I love it.

Contrary to what a lot of Jon Tickle fans would prefer to believe, Jon and I get on well in the real World. I think we're both mature enough to put our "incarceration" differences behind us (unlike some fans) and get on with it.

BBAfrica question answered in a previous post.

I've met Alex Sibley and he does whinge. I didn't spend long chatting to him though - would be nice to have more of a chance to meet him and then decide.

Just been enjoying a few days at home after a hectic time doing panto in Aberdeen.

I heading away again on Tuesday to do a conference about modern language teaching in secondary schools and after that I'm going to Glasgow to see my brother's finacee in panto and attempt to sort out one or two things for his wedding.

I'll have to read the link more thoroughly before I return a verdict...

I had a text from Nush short ago and she's doing very well indeed. Her leg is better, yes, but I imagine it'll probably never be back to how it was.

I would love to have been in BB2, but as I said before I would have gone into any of them. I think Brian Dowling is great, that's the main reason I would give for BB2 being my favourite.

It's impossible to say who would win any series if a different set of housemates was chosen.

BusyBee 22-01-2005 04:38 PM

thanks Cameron for all your answers - hope we have come up with some 'original' ones.

The stand by always goes out at the first available eviction and they are always hated. This happened with Clair and Becky.

Coming in late always makes one an outsider and bonding is a problem.

That is why, compared to those in at the start, the late comer is always handed the poison challace, just as Lisa was.

Having said that, neither the UK housemates nor the BBAfrica housemates could have known how long the swap was going to last - for all we knew Gaetano might have been a contender for the UK prize, or I could have been in the BBAfrica house for the duration, or both. None of the housemates could have known what the possibilities were for the new arrivals, and as far as I can see we were both welcomed openly and bonded pretty quickly. It comes down to the personality of the latecomer in many cases - not saying that Gae or I have a "better" personality than Lisa, but she maybe wasn't the best choice of person to put in at that late stage.

Even having used the UK/Africa swap suggestion, I do agree that it can't be easy being taken in later than the original 'starters' and this has been proved in the programme before. Surely though, doesn't the Africa swap suggest that it is possible for a newcomer to get further than their first possible eviction?

Dan_ 23-01-2005 02:04 PM

Thanks for answering my previous questions Cam.

Who do you think will win celeb bb tonight and who do you want to win it?
