new Dr Who?
hi
what did you think of the new version? im too young to remember the old version but this was good entertainment and eccleston is a star. its gone down well, with 10.5million viewers against 7.2 million who watched ant n dec. :joker: |
i dident see it but all my friends did and they said it was brill ! .. i watched ant n dec ..... im gutted i dident watch it instead
|
Where do I begin as to what an utter disappoinment this proved to be :bored:
I think the first part was ruined when the BBC managed to allow cross talk from the dancing competition they ran prior. Graham Norton's voice coming through along with cheering during a bit designed to build suspense was a monumental shooting in ones foot  |
yes but what did you make of it overall?
marks outta ten please? id give it 9/10 but ill be surprised if they maintain that throughout the 13 weeks |

I think I'd give it an 8/10.
I'm old enough to remember the old days when you were supposed to hide behind the sofa to watch, but unfortunately my over-protective parents thought it would give me nightmares so I had to resort to watching through a crack in the living room door. (They never guessed I'm sure!) I think Russell T Davies has done a fantastic job, Christopher Eccleston is brilliant, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just hope they can keep the momentum going and that the great ratings weren't down to people tuning in out of curiosity. |
Yeah I agree with Ig too I enjoyed it also and hope they keep it up
|
I loved the show thought it was brilliant brig on the darleks!
|
They have commisioned a 2nd series but Christopher Eccelston has quit
|
eccleston has quit which is a shame but they are replacing him with david tennant(who?) from casanova.
|
david tennant:
|
he was in Blackpool and is going to be in the 4th Harry Potter movie I think being Barty Crouch or the son to him
|
did you see the second episode?
i thought it were not very good. it seems they cant keep up to episode 1's standard. im sure the audience will dip |
Dr Who beat Ant & Dec again last night according to overnight figures, although both shows were down in terms of number of viewers watching.
Dr Who - average 7.27 million viewers (36.05% share) Saturday Night Takeway - average 6.02 million viewers (30.86% share) Dr Who is down from 43.2% audience share, while I can't find what Ant and Dec was last week, but I think they haven't lost much. Clocks going forward and fairly good weather obviously had an effect. Suppose it didn't help Ant & Dec that they had the liar on last night |
I remember the start of Dr Who and found it tough to watch as an adult. It really was a scary type kids program. I soon got bored as it was much to childish and the ham acting and dialogue was enough to feed a nation......
Still is a kids program in theory. The latest series I find much better and slicker. Modern and imaginative so far.....More suited to adults also that like a bit of tongue in cheek sci-fi. Not to be taken to seriously just a nice bit of special effects escapism for viewers turned on to such..... Verdict from me so far is well done BBC for the type of program it is. You have done a good job... So far... |
Loving the show loads! I hope it stays that way.
|
I have now seen the first three episodes and it just keeps getting better. I can’t wait to see episode four. :)
DOG |
neither can I DOG
|
Missed last nights show as Sky Plus decided not to record it, it seems to try and do that every week  perhaps it's a ploy by the BBC to get you to watch the show at the time lol! Must remember to watch the repeat on BBC Three at 7pm tonight! So if anyone else, like me, missed it they can catch it again then
|
the third show is better than the dull second
ill update the viewing figures ASAP...................... |
Another win for Dr Who last night -
Dr Who - 8.339m viewers (36.66% share) Saturday Night Takeaway - 7.136m viewers (32.29% share) A very very slight increase in share (holding steady, which is good news), and an extra 1m viewers from last week. |
David Tennant has been confirmed as the replacement for Christopher Eccleston in the Doctor Who role.
The news comes after Eccleston's surprise decision to quit the cult show earlier this month over fears of becoming typecast. Tennant, currently starring in BBC One's Casanova, will become the tenth Doctor in the show's next series. He will join the cast alongside Billie Piper, who is sticking around as the Doc's assistant, Rose Tyler. "I am delighted, excited and honoured to be the tenth Doctor!" said Tennant. "I grew up loving Doctor Who and it has been a lifelong dream to get my very own TARDIS. "Russell T Davies is one of the best writers television has ever had, and I'm chuffed to bits to get the opportunity to work with him again. I'm also really looking forward to working with Billie Piper who is so great as Rose. "Taking over from Chris is a daunting prospect; he has done a fantastic job of reinventing the Doctor for a new generation and is a very tough act to follow." Russell Davies, executive producer and writer of the show, added: "Christopher Eccelston's wonderful Doctor has reinvented the role, so that it now appeals to the best actors in the land. I'm already writing David's first new adventure on board the TARDIS! "Regeneration is a huge part of the programme's mythology, and I'm delighted that new, young viewers can now have the complete Doctor Who experience, as they witness their hero change his face!" Filming on the new 13-episode series begins this summer for transmission early next year. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds20682.html |
Tonight's episode was so damn scary...gas masks fused to the "zombie's" faces...that "Is that you, Mummy" child's voice they were all coming out with...and when Richard Wilson's face morphed into the gas mask - it was enough to make me want to hide behind the sofa, and I'm 24! I hope I don't have nightmares tonight because of it, brrrr...*shudders*
What a BRILLIANT show - it's everything Dr Who fans expected it to be! |
that little guy scared me to death:shocked:

What is it with a lot of actors today? I appreciate that they might have itchy feet and want to try lots of different roles - but they don't realise that Doctor Who is a NATIONAL INSTITUTION and a lot of other actors would give their right arm to be in it for years! I know that David Tennant wants to stay in the role for years, he was quoted in the last issue of Dreamwatch that he'd love to stay as long as he could! Thank goodness for that, because I think he's an excellent choice for the 10th Doctor. |
very scary ep this week
"mommy, are you my mommy?" |
What is truely scary is how the BBFC gave the DVD set a 12 rating because the Dr was nasty to a Darlek
Darleks are not evil They are misunderstood and just have an equally valid different world view. There is no justification in being nasty to a darlek. Darleks have feelings to http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/182000...darlek.300.jpg |
Let's see, the Daleks are:
Without mercy Ruthless Evil Why shouldn't the Doctor attack it? It's political correctness gone mad! |

Quote: they are also works of fiction....LOL
Shhhhh...don't tell the BBFC that. |
Last one on Saturday im going to miss Doctor Who when it ends
