+500 Posts Section?

A New Section: For Members With +500 Posts Only,

That would not be visible to anyone without +500 Posts.

What would you guys think of this?

IMO: I would love it. it could be and escape from the Newbies...:shrug:

Ninastar 17-05-2009 09:34 AM

Its kinda harsh on the newbies but it is kinda nice. Also some newbies are going to be alright and nice and calm. Remember that we were all newbies once!! x

I agree, but it would give the Newbie something to work towards, if they where committed to TiBB.

pinkmichk 17-05-2009 09:46 AM

cliques are not fun and this is what it would feel like to a newbie being not part of a clique also some of the newbies are alright and we were all new once silly idea imo

arista 17-05-2009 09:47 AM

It goes against all Mark and James have set up.

John. 17-05-2009 09:49 AM

it would not be a clique, it would be somewhere for +500 Members to go to escape, especially around this time of year, when there are lots of newbies posting, some rather, ridiculous threads and repeating threads?

but thanks for you opinion!

xDramatick 17-05-2009 09:50 AM

I agree with pinkmichk!

If I was a new member, and all the other members seemed really close, had loads of personal jokes, refer to things I don't know about in threads etc, I'd be turned off.

would you? i don't think i would be. I'd want to get 500 posts as quick as possible to see what was in the section!:spin:

pinkmichk 17-05-2009 09:57 AM

which would have the opposite effect of instead of newbies posting quality posts they will post even more crap than some already post

Sam! 17-05-2009 10:01 AM

I don't see the point really.

Ninastar 17-05-2009 10:02 AM

It really would turn most of them away, which is kinda mean.

John. 17-05-2009 10:02 AM

Meh it was just an idea, just to get different thoughts on it?

Spike 17-05-2009 10:04 AM

Theres no point to having that section really
and I think it would have a negative effect on the forum and new members

Twilight 17-05-2009 10:07 AM

I think its a bit mean and i think everyone should be allowed to post were they want

xDramatick 17-05-2009 10:17 AM

I don't mind the idea of having hidden forums but they should be hidden for a reason.

For example, on SIN, there's three hidden forums:
- A Britney one, for ONLY Britney fans to join.
- A VIP one, 100 posts and you get loads of extras like leaked songs first and HQ covers.
- &&The adult one, only viewable for those over 18.

Billy 17-05-2009 10:18 AM

Oh get a grip.

Tom4784 17-05-2009 10:20 AM

It could be a good incentive for new members to stay I suppose, instead of using up names and only having 1 post. What kind of chat would happen in this section though? It may just be a waste of time if it's a second general chat topic as it won't get used in the off season.

I wouldn't mind it, it would have to be different to Chat and Games and General topics though.

MrGaryy 17-05-2009 04:59 PM

It makes zer o sense, totally pointless.

Wildcat! 17-05-2009 05:07 PM

Dumbest idea I have ever heard on this forum.

Yeah that would be really hard to reach 500, if I wanted to. A bunch of smilies after every thread. That could be done in about a couple of days. The forum will be real quality then.

imo its not fair at all. Theres no point in it apart from to keep new members away, and tbh some new members post better stuff than some people with 1000+ posts here so it wouldnt make since to keep a forum for 500+ posts.

Spot on.

MrGaryy 17-05-2009 05:26 PM

JD I love how you seem to think of yourself as a forum gem after only 1000 posts. it was only a few weeks ago that you wouldn't have been allowed into said forum.

Deirdre 17-05-2009 05:41 PM

I've got +500 posts and I'm not a newbie. I've been here longer than most of ye. Stupid idea.

newbie discrimination ... and what would you talk about in that thread?... how great it is to have +500 posts?

30stone 18-05-2009 12:26 PM

Ive hit 10k, i want a special place where only 10k + posters can post, get away from the ones with just 1000 :yuk:

Annie 19-05-2009 07:30 AM

I dont think its a good idea. I like newbies.

Stu 19-05-2009 07:44 AM

I think without even saying anything else, the idea is undermined by just how easy and fast some members get 500 posts. While other great members are the type who might make one post a month.

Besides, you should be happy with your nice big JD logo's linking to your nice big official JD eye threads and whatnot.

John. 19-05-2009 07:49 AM

I only posted the idea to get opinions on IT.

Yes it is Discrimination
and that is why it would never work.

Well the very idea in theory spreads opinion, like it or not, on the newbies. If the whole getting away from the newbies thing was all a joke, what exactly else are we going to do in our own special section? Fencing?

I know a forum with a feature simmilar to this, except it is for paid members, and I know another forum with a 'gold' members section and both forums are essentialy manipulated and controlled from both sections.

I like to fuck around, but if I am going to fuck around it will be in clear view of everyone.

I don't know what we were going to do in this section. the opinions, I was after, was if you wanted a section like this or not, not the specifics.

I guess it would be up to the people who were allowed into the section to decide what they wanted in it!
