kemal is so out of the line not telling his parents about eing GAY
:joker:what the ... what is wrong with him hes not even telling his mum and do you know good website to see footballesr pictures
|
Obviously you don't know much about muslims Leema , but homosexuality is against their religion and is punisheable by death in some muslim countries . Most muslims hate gays , and Kemal is most likely afraid of his parents disowning him .
Kemal's nothing to be ashamed of , and if they don't accept his sexuality then they aren't worth knowing . |

How anyone could think he was straight is beyond me.
|
I understand his religous fears about revealing to his parents that he is gay but if he was so afraid of recriminations then why wait until he was on national tv to announce the fact? he is a little exhibitionist in my opinion and has done this all for effect and must not care much about his family to have done this to them, it shows a distinct lack of respect in my opinion.
|
Right its up to him if he wants to tell his parents not you so let him do it
|
Ya at th end of the day its his choice whether he wants to tell his parents or not.And to reinforce the point, homosexuality isnt accepted generally in the Muslim religion, even though Kemal claims to be a "modern-day" Muslim.
Its how he was born and its how he has to live, theres nothing to be ashamed of,but he probably cant do anything about it because of the strict religious rules. |
its a bit rude saying eating bacon isnt goin to make me a beyyer muslim it s just takin the piss if you know what i mean and my email address is Leema92@Hotmail.co.uk

aww i think thats sweet not telling ya mum u r not gay but finding out on t.v that ya son is gay is out of order!
|
I agree I have no problem with anyone not telling their parents but for them to find out at the same time as the rest of the country is bang out in my opinion ( not that I am always right of course lol )
I understand the Muslim religion quite well and actually have my own copy of the Koran so need no-one to preach to me about this but do feel the way he has done things is out of order. If my 18 year old daughter came out on national TV and that was the first time I heard about it I would be very hurt. Not because she was gay but because she had not been able to tell me. |
IF I HAD A KID AND I DIDT KNOW SHE OR HE WERE GAY AND I FOUND OUT ON T.V IL VOTE HER OUT MY SELF AND KICK her bum ! sorry about caps
|
Ok well he is Islamic, and Musslims are very strict and presise about such matters. They do not in any way agree with homosexuality, and from what I cxan gather Kemal's parents seem to be strict Musslims. (A level R.E )
So maybe going on Big Brother and making it less personal is Kemal's way of showing it. Besides who are we and Roberto for that matter to judge? |
Personal choice.
|
I am 22 and i only just came out to my mum, it's not an easy thing to do. I can understand where Kamal is coming from and NOBODY has the right to judge what he has decided to do, we all have to deal with things in our own way, I respect Kamal for his courage but there is also some thought in what he has done, if when he comes out his parents or the muslim community cast him out he can make a mint selling his story to the media.
|
i think its up to kemal what he does and roberto was so out of order last night at the end of the day its kermals choice not ours how he comes out.
|
You are right it is HIS choice to tell them - but it is also our right and choice to discuss our points of view because he brought it into the public domain. I am a great believer that once someone has talked to me about something they have given me the right to comment on it!! ( not having a go though lilac :dazzler: )
|
its ok i understand where your comeing from and yeah we can talk about it but some people seen the way he did it was wrong i mean i would hate to find it out on tv but its the way he felt comfortable maybe because he now has a few weeks or however long he is in the house berfore he has to face his parents.
|
I feel for his parents. OK they must have realised his sexuality (its not difficult to work that out), but to come out on National TV must have totally embarassed them in front of their religious community.
I think Roberto was right - he has no respect for his parents' feelings. Ok it is difficult to be truthful, but to come out in front of millions of people must have really hurt his family. They are the ones who have to deal with the fall out from other Muslims. To do it the way he did was taking the easy way out, he lets his strict Muslin parents deal with others reactions. He obviously hopes it will have died down by the time he leaves. |

LOL, I wasn't agreeing with you Leema, see the quote in my post from Sunny, thats who I was agreeing with. I know your post was the one above mine, but I was referring to Sunny's post.
I really don't understand your constant posting about bacon! So I can't say if I agree or not. |
Ya me too asnd I cant understand what you are e-mailing me about either..
|
sorry if i am emailing you but you are so rude plears can you say it nicely
|
What am I being rude about?Nothing all I said was that its hard for Kemal to come out priobably because of the strict religious rules.
Now if you find that rude then... |

yes but you said that i always email you and the way you wrote it its just rude i my opinion
|
I never said u always e-mail me I said you e-mailed me,past tense which is once...something that happend and is over.
Now if i used the imperfect tense it would mean that you e-mailed me on a continous basis...and Im not gonna get all technical or get any firther with this becaus eits against TiBB rules and I aint getting kicked out because of this. |
I respect your opinion, leema - but i honestly don't think Lance was being rude by asking why you had e-mailed him.
Can we let this drop now please, so that thread can get back on topic. If not, it will be locked. |
Ya I have dopped it Kaz.
|
right Kemal is not out of order for not telling his parents its his choice not yours not Roberto's who was out of ****ing order the other day and also i dont believe the GB public should vote for him because of what religion he supports and the way he chooses to express himself
|
In fairness, I don't think that coming out on national television was the only reason that Kemal went into the house. Also, when someone is coming out/trying to come out, you have to understand that it's a really difficult thing to do, regardless of the expected response from people. I think the fact that he put himself into a situation where there were 12 complete strangers, and where he could be himself from the very get-go, may mean that he saw this as a way to come out. You must also consider that he would have been (and I say this with empathy) in a very selfish mode at the time, because coming out is such a personal thing, and it really is all about you at the time.
Hope that made sense. hmm. |
What right do you have to judge him? It's his choice, no one elses.
|
Exactly, nobody has the right to judge him. But, then again. He's gone on national television, and is the point of the whole show not to judge the contestants? After all, despite what some might say, it's really just a glorified popularity contest, isn't it? Hmm?
(I'm totally on Kemal's side here though) |
Yeah, I suppose so, but its all easy enough for people to say what Kemal should do, but they aren't in that situation.
|
Yup. Roberto had a point to make, I think, but he was a little bullish and heavy handed about it. I think really, all he wanted to do was ask Kemal a little more about where he's coming from (in terms of coming out on the show), and maybe wanted to explore Kemal's intentions. Or, I could be totally wrong, maybe Roberto was just provoking an argument, which he did in spectacular fashion if this was the case
p.s. Is there any particular reason why the word gay is written as GAY in the title to this post? It's not a swear word you know. Tsk. |
The point roberto made was wrong and inconciseive its not his problem so why should he worry
|
It was a bit like Nadia last year, she went in as a woman to be herself, to see if she was accepted as such, He has gone in as bi-sexual [he is not gay] and hopes to be accepted as such.
I do feel sorry for his family on one level but their reaction to him now will be the final judgement on them, if they accept him good on them, if not, stuff 'em. |
