What Paul and Helen think: this weeks NOTW
Here's what they wrote, although of course since then things have moved on a little. Anyway folks, they're NOT impressed!
What a shocker that was, Alison going, writes HELEN. I liked Alison I did. Now she’s gone Kate is going to latch onto Spencer a lot more. But she really needs to toughen up. She’s meant to be a kick-boxer but she cries at anything and everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if she and Spencer start openly sharing Alison’s double bed. But the big question is: Is their relationship real? I have my doubts. Far more interesting is the Adele-Sophie-Lee saga. Again the question is: Is lechy Lee for real? This week he started to develop into a bit of a Nasty Nick character- telling one gorl one thing and the other another. He’s got those two dangling on a piece of string and it’s not on. And I feel another twist coming up – I think Adele secretly fancies Sophie! You watch her. But Jade is really starting to irritate me. It’s getting on my nerves the way they all call her Babba. She’s got all the signs of a No1 troublemaker. One things for certain, she deserves PJ! He looks like a garden gnome and is about as entertaining! And the tasks so far have been ridiculously easy with the housemates getting far too much money, food and drink. PAUL agrees. He writes: They have it way too easy, sitting around eating ice cream all day. They’ve either got hampers or champers. I even counted 28 bottles of cider the other day. The most we ever had was five. As for Alison, I wasn’t too sorry to see her go, except I had a bet on Alex getting his marching orders! But let’s face it, Alex is making the show at the moment. I don’t like him at all – but I love to hate him. There’s nothing more entertaining than watching him winding up all his housemates and annoying Kate in particular. As odd as he is – very camp, immaculate, prim and proper – he’s the most genuine person there. I find all the others very fake and they’re rapidly turning reality TV into unreality TV. I think all the supposed romances are sham too. This lot know the drill, how to get attention and curry favour with the voting public. When Alison was evicted I spotted a banner in the crowds which said: ‘PLEASE BRING BACK BRIAN!’ I couldn’t have put it better myself. There’s not one funny individual like Brian in the house. The only reason the show’s been entertaining at all is because of all the arguments. It’s one mass brawl in there – and that’s all down to Alex. |
So the housemates from BB2 think BB3 is rubbish!
PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM C4 AND ENDEMOL!!!!!!! |
Yes, I agree with Janette but I don't think they will change the format now. It's a case of like it or lump it, I'm afraid.
I, for one, am lumping it!!!! :bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawl ing::bawling: |
I thought Helen and Pauls comments were excellent and I agreed with almost every one of them.
I wonder if anyone from C4 or Endemol read the NOTW or any of the forums and take note of our comments. I hope they do. |
THEY R SPOT ON!
BB3 IS NOT GOOD AT ALL AND IT GETS WORSE EVERY DAY THEY R ALL MANIPULATIVE WANNABES!! THE FIRST 2 SERIES HAD LIKEABLE PEOPLE IN THEM THIS ONE DONT!!! |
Were a bit shocked, I'm going to watch and try and forget last year, it's obvious by now that this one is different, but we like to compare.:joker::laugh:
:spin: :bouncy::bouncy: |
they are all aware of the voting public

I note a couple of you have read this weeks offering by P&H.
Do you want me to type it up or not folks? |
Yes please, if not the whole thing a link would be good :-)
|
Unfortunately, those swines at NOTW don't publish an online version!
Here goes: HELEN SAYS: Well, what a week it's been in the house. I've hardly been able to draw breath. For me, the high point was the bars coming down. I must be one of the few people to like the extra tension and drama. My mother rang me and said: "Can you imagine what it would have been like if you and Paul had been split up?" But Jade and PJ must now be wishing they'd eneded up on opposite sides of the bars! They got far too intimate with each other and I really don't think it's done them any favours. I should say that while Paul and I got together in the house it was all very proper between us. We didn't even kiss until the night he was evicted. So, when Jade started flashing her boobs at PJ, I just couldn't bear it. I was shouting: "Jade, what are you doing?" That said, I think she will come better out of the drunken encounter than PJ. I know it takes two to tango but the way PJ knocked Jade back in the morning was awful. I felt really sorry for her. He has to go. I swear when he's up for nomination I'll vote for him 200 times. Fair play to brave Sandy. He went out in style. But I'd never have left without my clothes! Lastly, Alex is blossoming and I now think he's brilliant. If he's up for eviction next week, I'm getting a T-shirt printed saying: KEEP ALEX IN. PAUL SAYS: The big moment for me was Sandy's departure. Half of me thought: "Fair do's" but the other half was so digusted with him. Then I began to realise that the geezer just doesn't want anything to do with Big Brother any more. And he's not the only one. I'm watching a lot of it but I'm not massively enjoying it. I find the bars awful. They give me a headache. Every single shot, you see bars and it's really annoying me. Still, I think things could get more interesting next week now that Lee has been voted out. I think the eviction will send shockwaves rebounding at kate who is only cuddling up to Spencer because she thinks it will help keep her in the house. But Lee going proved that being in a relationship doesn't get you further. Poor Jade is very immature. She's grabbing at straws-grabbing at anything apparently! I thought her encounter under the bedclothes with PJ was really degrading. You just don't do such things when there are millions of viewers watching. I think Jade is going to get it worse when she comes out. The girl usually does in these situations. Mel from the original Big Brother told me that she had a really difficult time when she came out. And all she did was share two innocent kisses with two different blokes. _________________________________ So there you go! Paul and Helen are not in complete agreement on everything, and I think Helen has a wee bit of selective memory on how good they were under the blankets! Mind you I am sure they didn't go quite this far, they were in love, and whatever THEY did was (as dear Kenny Everett used to say)all done in the best POSSIBLE taste! |
They don't produce an online version, in that case you're a star!!!!!
This difference of opinion would be good material for that BBC1 guy, who ever he is. Does those two great!!!! Saw brief items on Tim, umm. unnasuming character if ever I saw one. He should be fine. I'll watch the highlights though :-) |
Cheer's ROB that was interesting to read glad Paul doesnt like the Bars I'm in total agreement with him. Helen just sound's like she's being herself so that's nice to know.:love:
:spin: :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy: |
Im glad to see Helen enjoying it - I agree with her about a lot of the stuff, particulary Alex, he is hilarious!
I didnt expect Paul to rate ths series cos he didnt watch the last one, did he? I mean BB1, he just applied for BB2 cos his mates said they thought he would be good on it. But I do agree, in a way - even though I am starting to like the bars, I would rather them down.:colour: Cheers ROB! |
Quote:
If Kate was only cuddling up to keep herin, she would have stuck with alex, her original choice, and the one she said wa most physically attractive to start with - she began to speak to Spencer more BEFORE Alex became a control freak, so it wasn't like she just moved from Alex as soon as he became unreasonable. She began to get to know Spencer and liked him more. I'm not claiming it's going to be the biggest romance of the 21st century, but I think they actually do like each other a lot. Tut tut Mr Clarke. God, i can just imagine what Helen would have done had she and Paul been separated......(probably similar to what Spencer and Kate did actually). I bet they are so glad they went in last year and not this year!! |
Kate and Spencer may find each other physically atractive but I think that is just about as far as it goes.
I noticed how little time they have spent together since Jades caper under the capes. But when Tim arrived Spencer was all over Kate like a rash "briefly". Now they seem quite indifferent to each other again. I don't think either know how to play it for public consumption since the Lee Sophie relationship was vetoed by the public. Don't be fooled Glitter_babe Kate and Spencer are about as romantic as a wet weekend on a snow bound mountain in the middle of a gallaxy somewhere in time and space...Aahggggg I am crazy I know. Big Brotheritis has taken a grip...:spin2::spin2::conf::conf::spin2: |
Big Brotheritis has taken a grip...

Something Davina said in HEAT I agreed with....."We (audience) see Kate and Spencer being more intimate than the housemates do. He'd never admit to the guys that he likes Kate, but they do share some very soppy moments alone." Spencer is very shy when it comes to his personal life - he rarely comments, and if he does he is visibly uncomfortable, and he gives little detail. Deep down he's kind of a shy person, but puts on a bit of an act for the lads. When with Kate and the others, he flirts in a more childish, 'typical lad' way, but when alone, they are quite sweet, and they are both slightly nervous (in a sweet way). It's little things like them going to sleep stroking each others hair, etc that I think are lovely, but C4 NEVER show them - i have to watch on E4 if at all. Like I said, I'm not claiming they are going to leave the house, run off to scotland, get married in a castle and live happily ever after with three ponies and a butler names Jeeves. I just think they have sweet couple potential, and if you watch them alone, they do genuinely care. Its too natural to be contrived for the public. |
i dunno though.
whatever they cant beat p/h. |
Now I normally like everything Davina writes, but just have to challenge her comment in heat about PJ and Jade being reminiscent of Paul and Helen (in that they would never have got together outside)
First of all, Paul says he would have gone up to Helen in a club or bar, but that they would have been unlikely to have met. Secondly, Paul never thought he was too good for Helen, Quote: H:'I'm just a bloody hairdresser from Wales and you're a car designer from Cologne in Germany' P: So, whats your point? It don't make any bloody difference mate!' H: It doesn't does it? P: It doesn't matter at all! As we all know he respected her 'massively' and only held back because she was in a relationship. He took care of her and protected her from herself in there, and since. PJ did anything but protect her. Fair enough she's an adult, but a very drunk one, and it was absolutely revolting that he 'helped himself'. If he was that drunk, he wouldn't have managed it. The amnesia was feigned. PJ evidently thinks he's too good for Jade. If they do get together outside the house it will be for the notoriety and it won't last. So I consequently have to consider that Davina's judgement is potentially flawed over Kate and Spencer. Maybe they will get together. I don't know, but Paul is entitled to his opinion, and after all he's being paid to give it! |
Quote:
I do agree on the PJ jade point - i would never compare them to P&H, and PJ doesn't really like her that much (if at all ) anyway. Paul is perfectly entitled to his opinion, but I reckon he's being too cynical..... (I wish someone would pay me to give my opinions - I'd make a bomb!) |
I always thought Paul said he wouldnt approach Helen in a bar because looks wise she was not her type, not that she wasnt attractive but he said he usually goes for brunettes and it was because of her personality he fell for her.
I remember him saying this and his siter and his mate on BBLB.:spin2: |
I think you are right Wildchild, I remember it that way as well. :spin2:
:flower: |
Yes, I know, but on Rich and Famous, when Helen said 'He wouldn't have come up to me in a bar you know!!'
Paul laughed and said 'Apparently!' Then he told Matthew Wright that he'd had to tell a few white lies in there, because 'it wasn't appropriate' owning up how attractive he found her when she had a boyfriend. I just had to watch that again to make sure. It was hard work, but someone had to do it. Those two are so sweet, it's cheered me up no end!:hello::hello::hello: |
OK Folks, here's the real column:
Helen says: My favourites, Spencer and Alex, were up for eviction and I was so torn I couldn't even vote this week. Such a shame that either of them had to go when there are nonentities like Sophie and PJ still in the house. But I do think the right man, Alex stayed in. He's just so entertaining and funny - and if Adele can work out which way she's swinging there could be a bit of romance there. Spencer, on the other hand, was like a wet weekend when he left the house. When Davina interviewed him the conversation just wasn't flowing, and as for showing Spencer his highs and lows in the house, well there just weren't any. Still, I do feel sorry for kate now.She lost her good mate Alison early on and now she's lost her 'love interest' Spencer too. My low point of the week wasn't so much losing Spencer as gaining ugly Tim. How disappointing is he? He dyes his hair, wears ladies sunglasses and has a body like a tree trunk. Yuck! Not impressed. I still think Big Brother is giving the housemates too much alcohol, but if it keeps fuelling rows like the one that kicked off between Jade and Adele, keep it coming! Paul says: I stood to pocket £200 if Spencer won the series, so I was gutted to see him go. In the end he just played it too cool, and will now only be remembered for burping and farting. But I couldn't help but feel for Alex when Davina announced that Spencer would be leaving. There was a deathly hush and it's obvious most of the housemates would have preferred to see the back of Alex. The same thing happened to me when I was up for eviction against the ever-popular Bubble. There was no disguising my housemates' disappointment that Bubble was going and I was very hurt by their reaction. Helen was the only person who came up to me and said: "I'm pleased you're staying." Adele seems to be Alex's only ally and was the only one to tell him she didn't want him to go. Personally, I think the others are jealous of Alex because they know how popular he is on the outside. He's certainly my favourite to win. |
Thanks for posting that up, ROB.
I have to agree with Paul, in that this most recent eviction was eerily similar to last year's when Bubble went, right down to the reactions of the other housemates. And Helen doesn't like Tim much, that's blatantly obvious. Well, she has got 'exceedingly good taste' in men, hasn't she? |
Paul and Helen\'s column 30.6.02
Here is what they have to say today:
HELEN Well, I was sorry to see Sophie go. She may not have been the most scintillatingperson in the house, but she was a nice person. And - let's be honest - the house could really do with a few nice people. I've been shocked by Jade and Adele's constant bitching. That's definitely been the low point for me this week. It's all been so nasty. I really hope Alex, who I believe is a sweet person, is not going to get too caught up with them. Jade is simply not a nice girl. I'd like to see her OUT! And as for her hint that she did have sex with yucky PJ. Ohmigod, what a silly girl! She even had the cheek to refer to sex as "stuff" - the code word Paul and I used! Adele is showing a meaner side too. She has a game plan and, while I believe Alex is 100 percent genuine in his flirting with her, I don't think she is genuine. She'll just try anything to stay in the house. I suspect the terrible twosome will turn on Kate next and she might crack. She's been having a tough time recently, stuck on the poor side with Terrible Tim. I don't like him either - he never gave poor Sophie a chance. But the funniest moment last week came when he was caught shaving off his ginger chest hair. Ugh! There was so much gloom this week, so thank goodness for the ballroom dancing task. I loved that, I did. The costumes reminded me of what I used to wear for my disco dancing competitions. But most of all it was nice to see the housemates having a laugh for once. More tasks please, Big Brother! PAUL: Welcome to the house of doom. I cant't think of one thing that has happened this week to make me laugh. There's certainly nothing funny about Jade and Adele's behaviour in the house. It's appalling. Jade is a nasty piece of work. She's been my low point all week, but sometime in the not to distant future she's going to give me a high point. I can't wait for her to come out - man, she's going to get so many boos! That may be a hard thing to say but, sorry, I think she deserves it. She and Adele were just awful to Sophie, who was harmless. Jade's being a bully in that house and thinks she is getting away with it. But while she's a big fish in a small pond now, it's just not going to be the same once she's back out in the real world. I used to like Adele. Funny how your opinions can change so dramatically! I now think she's manipulative in a clever but sneaky way. And those little laughs she does to egg Jade on are horrible. But I reckon their bullying will backfire on them. In a strange way, them being mean to Sophie did her a favour. At first she wasn't popular with the public - the way she behaved with or without Lee was embarassing and a bit sad. But she got a really good reception when she came out. Everyone felt sorry for her because Jade, Adele and Tim had been so nasty. Tim is also about to provide me with a high point. In about nine days time. When his ginger roots start coming through. Can't wait to see the reaction of the other housemates. Yes, nine days to G-Day and it's going to be absolutely hilarious. |
Thanks, again, ROB. It's really kind of you to type this up for us every week.
I agree with Helen and Paul 100%. |
thanx rob!!!!
i agree with them both this week....i think the whole country would as well
it is a cheek for jade to use the word "stuff"--how pathetic and stupid can u get???? jade is one of those slappers at nightclubs who start arguments and fights and runs around squawking...horrible! |
7.7.02
Here's this weeks offering from Paul and Helen:
HELEN I've enjoyed Big Brother so much this week. There's been nothing but high points for me. It all started with there being four people up for nomination - although we all knew it was going to be a two girl race. Half of me wanted Jade to go - but half was feeling sorry for her because she was given a really tough time outside the house. But I really did want Adele to be voted out. She thought she was playing the game very cleverly, setting Jade up for the chop. Another high this week was the puppet show - they really put their all into it. I thought Kate was hysterical when she imitated Davina. I'm really starting to warm to Kate. I couldn't believe she got any nominations after she lost her place on the rich side by volunteering to answer a question in a gamble to get the bars lifted. Mind you, if she hadn't she'd have been stuck with arrogant Tim all week! PAUL: I thought Adele would be going early on this week. And as soon as I knew, I started to feel really sorry for her. This time, because there's no story line BB3 will be remembered for the bitching. That's obviously the way the producers are editing it. But it turns viewers against people. So yet another housemate left to a chorus of boos. Still, at last Big Brother is starting to introduce more tasks for the housemates - so at least this week we had something else to watch apart from the sniping. I didn't think much of the puppet show - but I thought the puppets were hilarious. Caricatures always are. Kate has started to come out of her shell and has been entertaining this week. I couldn't belive Tim's reason for nominating her: "Because she smokes." More like: " I am nominating Kate because I fancy her....and she doesn't fancy me", Tim! So, not all agreement between P&H this week then! Nice to know they still have their individual thoughts on things, like the puppet show. I think Paul has a good point about Tim's reasons for nominating kate. Although I always suspected that he may have nominated Helen in the first week last year for a similar reason! Not that he would have done it knowingly of course, because Paul Clarke is a prince amongst men! BHLCS :love::love: |

do u think helen has forgiven him 4 nominating her?

This week: 14TH JULY 2002
This week's views by Paul and Helen:
HELEN: It was so obvious PJ had to go. He's such a lad. He seemed to think women will drop at his feet and that he'll snog someone like Natalie Imbruglia next week. It makes me cringe. Jade's strip made me cringe too. I don't care how drunk she was, she shouldn't have gone that far. If I was in the house I'd have stopped her. I was a bit disappointed in Kate. She should have pulled her aside and said "Do you realise what you're doing?" Jade should have stopped when she got down to her bra and pants. The task of choosing who went up for eviction kept me gripped. It was the best they's done. Tim has got to go. He thinks he's so cool but I think he's arrogant. When he was in the Diary Room saying what a nice person he was, I thought: "You wait until you get out." PAUL: This week's been all right after a few negative ones. I think it's because people have stopped running around and screaming. Now there are fewer people, they start needing each other more. The producers messed up pitting the housemates against each other on opposite sides of the bars. I couldn't believe it when they were given a football table as a reward for cleaning the house. I was like: "Are you having a laugh?" We never got anything like that. They had enough money to buy a running machine. We didn't even have enough money to buy a Cornetto.* They definitely don't have it as tough as we did. I'm always watching them eat fry-ups. We made do with apples. That's why Kate and Adele have put on weight. While I was in the house I lost a stone. It was nice PJ didn't get booed when he came out. But people forget that he took advantage of Jade. Her striptease was great television. But someone should have stopped her. I'm still hoping Alex or Jonny will win. _____________________________________________ *Hey, but you managed to have some fun a year ago today with an economy choc-ice Paul! http://bigbrother.digitalspy.co.uk/images/2-743.jpg __________________________________________________ __ Hey, listen I know it's sad that I keep linking to last year. As someone has been known to say before: "Arrest me, I'm really, really guilty!":hello::love::hello::laugh: |
Actually Kate *did* try to stop her, and even gave her a towel to cover herself up with. She said: "when blokes get naked, it's funny, when women do, it isn't funny."
But Jade was so hammered she just pushed her aside and after a while Kate gave up. |
I agree with Paul  they seem to get a lot more on this years bb food wise and treats wise they have also let them write all over the walls in the grotto  last year they would have got told of for this!

Remind us all you like.:love::love::love: |
No need for me to type it up this week folks, the NOTW kindly put it online.
I would think that will be it from Paul and Helen for now. :bawling::bawling: I know it's not great journalism, but it pays the mortgage! I think they're just about as uncertain as we are about who will win! For the lazy, heres the whole article: MAKING A SPLASH: Helen reckons Jade is great, but will be voted out next FAVOURITE: Big Brother joker Jonny CONTENDER: But Kate will be pipped HOPEFUL: Alex could still clean up The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly BIG Brother's cuddly Jade Goody had last year's star Helen Adams in an almighty tizz yesterday. Helen thinks the blonde from Bermondsey can be blinkin' marvellous... but is also positive she's going to be the next eviction. Welsh wonder Helen even reckons the 21-year-old was in the running for the £70,000 top prize. But she says Jade ruined everything during the Seventies' Party argument last Wednesday. Trouble flared after a FIVE HOUR binge, when Alex began goading Jade...and they ended up having an almighty row. Helen, 23, said: "Jade has done well, but after that argument she's blown it. She will be evicted. "During the argument I kept thinking, 'Shut up'. OK, it was funny because she was getting so wound up by Alex, but she did go on and on. Funny "But I do like her...when she's not drunk, gobbing off or stripping!" Helen and housemate Paul Clarke, 24, gripped the nation when they fell in love on Big Brother 2 last year. And it has lasted — they have now set up home together in Hertfordshire. Here are their views on the Big Brother climax. HELEN'S VERDICT: 'I would really like to see Kate win but I don't think she will, because it's teenage girls and housewives who are the ones who do the voting. I can't see a teenage boy picking up the phone because he really fancies Kate. But I can see a housewife looking at Jonny, saying, ‘he's a hunky fireman' and voting. I think he will be the winner. Alex also had a good chance but I think the argument with Jade cost him second place. He's good looking so he will get a lot of votes from the girls, but he has been so grumpy. It was funny the way he took the mickey out of Jade during that argument, but apart from that he's been a real misery. He's been grumpy since PJ left and that's a bit of a turn off. A lot of people have said to me that Jonny can't win it because he hasn't done anything, he's just sunbathed and enjoyed himself. But that's what it's all about. That's why I'm going for him. I would be very shocked if the last two were boys. It's been a boy and a girl who were the last out for the past two years and I think it will be the same again. That's why my last two out of the house, after what has been happening this week, will be Kate and Jonny. Kate and Jonny look to me as though they have decided to have a good time and aren't taking Big Brother seriously. And I've warmed to them because of that.' PAUL'S VERDICT: 'It will be close, but Jonny will be the winner. Jade will be the next off, third is either Kate or Alex. But I think Kate could pip Alex. It's a really hard one because Alex has been up for nomination three times already. He's got a really big following and he did beat Spencer, so as I say it's a toss up between him and Kate. Enjoy But if I had to go for one of them as runner-up, it would be Kate. Now they've just got to enjoy themselves and chill out for this last week, because they won't do anything like it again. Jonny, Kate and Alex have all been strong contenders. But I think Alex's relationship with Tim has brought him down. I think he was a contender to win but his chances are a lot slimmer because he was so friendly with Tim. One thing I am sure of, is that Jade isn't going to win it. She can't. If she does it will be terrible. The winner has to be a role model and she just isn't. Kate's got stronger as the weeks have gone by. And you can see the compassionate side to Jonny, too, which is why I am predicting they will be first and second. Alex has told Kate how he's had to hold his tongue during some of the rows and it makes you realise what a nice guy he is. Knowing that it's girls who vote on Big Brother, I suppose Alex could still pull it off.' __________________________________________________ _ Bye bye Paul, bye bye Helen. Now go and get married for goodness sake and have babies! You know it makes sense! |
Thanks, once again, ROB.
As you say, they're not really sure who is going to win this year and neither am I, athough, after last night's frolics, I'm warming towards Alex again. It's not a hanging offence, Oldgit. At least they're agreed that Jade will be fourth and I think they're right about that but you never know!!:dance::joker::hello::colour::spin2: |
